Yes, you're giving them a completely fair choice. From half the deck. Holding out half the deck while offering only half for a selection is bound to make spectators notice and wonder, and Dog help you if you get a spec with a tendency towards obstreperousness. I'd think it would be better to use a 50/50 Force Deck and shuffle half the random cards to the top in a face-up shuffle to show different cards, then turn the deck face down and talk through the first thirteen cards as you spread them, then slow down when you hit the force block in the middle.

Nope. This doesn't make any sense at all. Have you really worked this in multiple situations with multiple people? If you're working in real venues it's only a matter of time before someone says "why cant i pick any card?" And you have ZERO justification for why you're offering only half the deck.
