    I am a commerce graduate works in the field of business administration. But i loved physics. I scored 100% in my 10th grade physics paper. But due to financial constraints could not pursue science stream. I have wet eyes watching your video. Thank you sir.

    speaking of Gravity.. both as it affects the Earth and The moon.... Very EXCELLENT demonstrations and Explanations. I know that Tides aren't apart of this discussion.. but just a thought here, We hear about the Ocean tides.. how the water RISES... but we never hear about how the Atmosphere Above the water Rises as well. Makes you wonder if there is an Atmospheric Tide that goes around the earth...... Pardon the Diversion here.. but having taken in your lecture on Gravity and all.. I just went off on a tangent.. :) Thanks..

    We know that free falling objects(without any obstracle) pass the same way in equal time. That means the velocity of two different mass are same.It means the force of Gravity works on that two objects or mass similarly. But we know that the force of gravity is one kind of gravitational force. And gravitational force depends propotionally on the mass of objects . So the force of gravity would be less or high on that two mass. But why it is not? Why the force of gravity works similarly on different mass?
    1) Does the force of gravity works on free falling objects?? If it is , then why the velocity of two different mass are same while they free fall??
    2) Does gravity exist in nature ??
    3) What is responsible for this?? Gravity or curved space??

    Hello Professor!
    If you have a fly in the airplane with you, flying at the same speed, sitting on your armrest. When the fly takes off from your armrest to the armrest of the pilot sitting up at the other end of the airplane, will it be able to make it there?

      the fly will do as well in the plane as at your home.
      A fly in the ISS (18 thousand mph) will fly as easily in the ISS as at your home.

    sir, my doubt is not clear. Need your help. suppose two acclerating corrdinates are accelerating in same acceleration in respect of a inertial coordinate... but those accelerating object(corrdinates) don't know that they are accelerating(as they don't know about inertial coordinate).. the thing they can only do that they could relate themselves.. now, can they distinguish that they are acclerating(only relating themselves) or any other way?? will they feel some kind force or inertia as they are acclerating?? what they will feel?? will they be stationary inertial corrdinates in respect of themselves????

    Gravitational force act's from a vertical height,however,the movement of planets and the moon is orbital with which a falling object couldn't be perpendicular to the Earth's surface,do you think that gravity can be a magnitude for distant objects related to our earth?

    Sir, suppose a block is on the table and block is putting a force of ( mg) so what is g here ? . Because my teacher is saying that it is not acceleration due to gravity it is just GMe/r*2 .

      In your example, think of g as having units of Newtons/kilogram, rather than m/s^2. Yes, they are algebraically identical units, but we'll get back to that later. The value of g indicates gravitational force per unit mass. Mass is a property of matter that indicates participation in the force of gravity, and gravitational field strength (g) is a property of the environment (i.e. a force field) that tells the mass what net gravitational force to experience. If no other forces act, then it would accelerate. But due to the fact that the normal force also acts, and opposes gravity, it remains at rest.
      Yes, it does become an acceleration in the special case of free fall or free projectile motion, which is why N/kg is equivalent to m/s^2. This is due to the fact that gravitational mass (m in F=G*M*m/r^2) and inertial mass (m in Fnet=m*a) are two properties of matter that are a package deal. Mass cancels out of the equation, and regardless of the properties of the body in motion, it experiences the same acceleration when no other forces apply.
      For the most part, g does equal G*Me/r^2 on the surface of this planet. However, this is only strictly true at the north and south poles. There is more to the story of g, when you account for the fact that A) Earth is not a perfect sphere, B) Earth is not uniform, and C) Earth is rotating, which means there is a little variation of the apparent value of g we experience across our planet's surface. The fact that Earth rotates means that some of the gravity is "used up" in causing us to rotate with it.

      we use an electric circuit that removes the current through the electromagn that carries Robert at the moment that we fire the golf ball.

    si tengo una turbina con una "fuerza propulsora de 2g" y esta turbina me está succionando desde el cielo de forma que yo estando en tierra tengo la turbina que me succiona en dirección al cielo¿puedo flotar? ¿Serviria para contraarrestar la fuerza G en aviones de alta velocidad de forma que la turbina succione desde el frente del avion haciendo "escapar" el aire succionado por conductos con salidas en dirección opuesta al frente del avion y así atrayendo el cuerpo del piloto en dirección contraria a la fuerza ejercida por la aceleración?, espero haber hablado correctamente

      +Arvind Sharma there are subtitles on all my 8.01x lectures. Also on my most popular lecture "For the Love of Physics". We are working on subtitles for 8.02x. That's all we will (can) do. Subtitling is very time-consuming and thus very expensive.

      +Arvind Sharma Browse amazon.com. They have some of the stuff I use for demos. secret top, toy gyroscope, wind hoses which excite resonances when you swing them around, rattle backs, dynamo flash lights . . . . .
      But most of my demos require equipment that is quite expensive; some is also very large in size and weight.
