Good morning to you from Singapore 🇸🇬. I am on a three-weeks holidaying in Singapore. Hong Kong 🇭🇰 SAR has the Chinese Bittern which is a rare sight, that can be seen in and around the thick mangroves sidewalks along the beachfront promenade in the semi-rural areas of the New Territories of Hong Kong 🇭🇰 SAR.
Congratulations on your new lifer. Apart from the day I started birding, the best day I ever had was 8 Lifers in one day! Goshawk, Mandarin Duck, Wood Warbler, Firecrest, and more. I cant remember to be honest lol
Thanks Jordan. I was torn between a graphical logo or this. I'll see how I feel in a couple of weeks 😂 Did you see the banner on the channel homepage? I'm pretty happy with that and how responsive it is to different devices.
Swans. I had learned that all the Swans in England were known as "The Queens Swans" - that they "belonged" to her. Now that Her majesty is gone, are they still The Queene's Swans?? I was hoping you might know.
The current monarch is King Charles II, so they would be "The King's Swans". A little more detail: In theory, the monarch reserves the right to claim all unmarked or unbanded Mute Swans of The United Kingdom (which includes Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland as well as England). But it's one of those silly, archaic laws that isn't actually used. These days, the reality of the situation is that "Swan Upping" is more of a ceremonial and conservation effort where Royal staff perform a census of swans on a stretch of The Thames near Windsor Castle. So you could more accurately say that these particular swans "belong" to The King. But the swans themselves are free to come and go, so they might have something to say about that! Some more info about it here: www.royal.uk/swans
Thanks!
Thank you so much, Denis. This is very encouraging for us. Whatever we get from UA-cam will go towards future videos. Thanks again 😊
Thanks so much for sharing another wonderful video like always ♥️🐦
Thank you Miguel, appreciate it 🙏
Great job in seeing the American Bittern in the open like that!! I love their gulping sound.
Thanks Tracy. It really was nicely on show... and for a good 20-30 minutes, too.

Thanks Nathan!

Thank you Marcus. That sounds like a pretty good day. Not just that it was 8, but some pretty cool species in there.
Well done on the American Bittern. It’s been great watching your challenge.
Thank you! Appreciate it 😊
WOOHOO LIFER American Bittern!! Congratulations!! Great video you two and nice new logo!

Congrats on the bittern. I always enjoy seeing them.
Thanks Cliff. Half a dozen Leasts in the last couple of years. Only one American!
@@BritHikesOntario That seems crazy to me here in the Central Valley of California. It is much easier to find an American than a Least in this area.
Congrats on the American Bittern, I see at least one every year, but they've eluded me this year.
Thanks Ilene. I hope we didn't steal your regular annual one!
Awesome video of the Bittern! I was there a few weeks ago and got good looks at the Snipes and the Sora. No Rail or Bittern unfortunately.
Thanks Mike. I was surprised at how on show it was. Must have been hungry.
