I've been growing for over 50 years, and I'm almost 80 now. When I plant seeds now it's a gamble if I will be alive to see them bloom, I planted some couple weeks ago from 2016 and now it's 2021 and got a LOT of babies. It's really amazing even after all this time, and thousands of trees, to see what will appear. Anyway if I die. I think God has every variety, and MORE in heaven.
You'd be surprised at how small the root systems are on all plumeria. They grow almost like cactus where the stem is the main part and the roots are very tiny. Here in Florida, they blow over and break easily during hurricane season. We grow a lot from seeds here. They LOVE full hot scalding hot sun and they don't like "wet feet". (They *do* like being watered regularly, they don't like *sitting in wet soil*. That's a very important distinction.) The best thing to do is pot the seeds directly in cactus soil (without fertilizer) and place the pot in full, direct sun and water thoroughly once a day. If they're in cactus soil, you never have to worry about over-watering them.
They are worth a shot. they just don't like to be kept wet, and they grow well in containers. depending on your climate you might have to bring them indoors for winter.
OH I love camellia :) are all of your cuttings rooted? if so you can slowly start to remove the bag (over about a week) if you remove the bag all at once the drop in humidity will surely make your cuttings crisp up. then let your cutting grow for a few more weeks and then transplant them to their new homes :) keep me updated :)
Hi just found a seed pod on my plumeria. Im not sure when to open it but I will watch it closely and Plants them as soon as they open. Thanks for your video How are you Plumeria doing I see you did this video in 2013. Hope you are still on line so I can see how your plants are doing. Thanks
what i do is find a cheap plastic pot that fits right inside the container I want to use. I plant my plant in the plastic container with drainage and then pop it right into the decorative pot. this way after you water, you can remove the plant in the plastic pot dump any excess water and your good. if its a big pot your doing this with you might try adding stones to the bottom of the decorative pot so the water can get away. then you don't need to dump water as often. Unless you overwater.
Where in Canada do you live ? After 3 years how your plants are doing ? I love Plumeria flowers, for several years I have been searching for those plants. Finally I found them. I have the plants but they are not flowering. Just today I received the seeds. I will try your way. Hopefully I will soon see some flowers
Canada😊 I live in Norway, above the polar circle! so I hope my 2 plumeria will surwive inside in wintertime! There are not much light here in wintertime😂😂
i dont have nor i can find any small plastic one that fit in,, i have different ceramic pots,, couple of them are small about 15-20 cm high in circle shapes, can i use the same method with the stones in them for planting flowers or herbs,, do you have any video where you make that method with stones,, I REALLY NEED TO FIGURE THIS GOOD SO I DONT MAKE ANY MESS
This is awesome! I planted some seeds here in NZ like over 3 months ago and kept them in my greenhouse but nothing happened, went out tosay and they are sprouting!!! Super excited :) your advice has been real helpful :)
I typically put a little rooting hormone when I repot. I find that unlike adult plants, you don't want them to dry out between waterings. Once they start dying at this stage, there's no saving them. It's ok to keep their feet wet at this stage.
I have one big question if you can please tell me,, how can i plant plants in pots that have no holes,, i dont want to make holes in them cus they are so awesome ceramics ,, can you please tell me ore send me a video if you can,, PLEASE
how is your plumerias? I am still watching your video...to see how they doing? please post it. Thanks re: send me one or two, I would love to pay you, I live in USA. Thanks a lot.

How long does it take the seeds to germinate?
For me, about 4 days.
You're amazing!

You need holes for drainage. Plumeria hate being wet. It's a lot like growing a jade plant.
I bought a clay pot cover the hole and buried it next to the plumeria, and put water every time is dry, it has worked very nicely!
look forward to updates, any coming ?
How long does it take for a plumeria grown from seeds to set flowers? 1 year or more?
Not sure.. this is my first time growing them from seed. I would assume 2 or 3 years. maybe more if the conditions aren't right :)
Any update to this video ? its been a little over a year since your transplant ........
I've done Several updates on these. they are growing well... some are doing better than others. right now they are trying to go dormant for winter.
