A few notes. The TTK's are 1.00 s for the Storm Rifle, Fury, and Blissful Slumber because I calculated them 10 meters from the target (I chose this distance because most of the time that is the average distance you'll be using Storm Rifles, not inches away from someone). If you get within inches from the enemy the TTK will drop to around ~ 0.95 s. Although the Fury looks the best statistically, the Blissful Slumber is the best variant overall because its plasma shots are larger/have a blast radius. Thus, it's much easier to actually hit your target compared to the Fury/Storm Rifle. Until next time Spartans!
Awesome video as always. I was surprised to see the Blissful doing the same damage as the other variants. It probably gives us the illusion of doing more damage since it is blinding and knocking back the opponents which basically renders them unable to fight back, and it is also constantly dealing damage to them as nearby shots that miss will likely still do blast damage.
I agree. Blissful Slumber's in-game description says it does more damage. I assume it's just a slight damage increase - like the Hydra/Typhon scenario (both require 2 missiles to kill, but the Typhon does more damage per missile)
Ideally and statistically, it is even with the Storm Rifle/Fury in terms of TTK. However, in actual gameplay the Blissful Slumber does kill faster because of its larger plasma shots/blast radius. It's much easier to hit a moving target, thus faster kill.
The main thing is that blast radius, you can hit the wall behind someone and still kill them, and if they have teammates even remotely close you will weaken them before they even pull the trigger. You probably won't even realize how much damage you are doing.
I absolutely love the blissful slumber, it's my go to for level 3 (check my spire Battle video). It's also worth mentioning how quickly it melts overshield
Ok, something is definitely off: Storm rifle fires 12 rounds/s, kills with 6-7 shots, muzzle velocity 169m/s. At 10m, the TTK should be 7/12 + 10/169 = 0.64s but the TTK in the video is 1.00s. Some thing has to be off, discounting the muzzle velocity, which only varies by 0.05s, too insignificant alter the TTK. I changed the video to x.25 and replayed the full-auto kill test, I got TTK of about 4.00x1/0.25 = 1.00s. WTF?! I tried to count number of round fired impacted the target, too fast even at x0.25 speed. I noticed that firing 7 rounds costed 7% battery drain. During the auto fire test, the battery drained from 93% to 86% - 7% drain/ 7 rounds fired. That means that the rate of fire of the storm rifle is not 12 rounds/s, but 7 rounds/s, or 420 rounds/min. This literally does not fit the wiki info of Type-55 Storm Rifle, which gives a rate of fire of 600 -700 rpm. Guys, please notify the devs. Even though I don't play this game, I want to see my fav gun kick ass again.
Trust me, half of my weapon tests have me asking myself "what the actual f*ck?" I'm thinking it doesn't match up to what it *should* be because of input lag and response lag in the game (my buddies and I do these tests over xbox live).
@Aozolai I think the calculations made with the Storm Rifles' shots-to-kill (STK) and time-to-kill (TTK) are not totally accurate as shown in the video (these were mistakes made in some other videos, but this one takes it a little too far imo). If the Storm Rifle was able to kill in 6 or 7 rounds, and if it had a rate of fire of 12 rounds per second, the weapon's time to kill should have been in between 0.4 -> 0.5 seconds worth using the right calculations. However, the video has noted the Storm Rifle's TTK at 1 second. If it had a rate of fire of 12 rounds per second, as was noted in the video, the weapon's STK should of been exactly 13 rounds in order for it to get that TTK of 1.0 second, not 6 or 7 rounds. The weapon's projectile travel time may factor in the increased TTK, but it doesn't look that you were far enough away for that to make a big difference with how fast those projectiles actually were. I've checked some Halo 5 weapon damage tables awhile back on a web search, and I believe the Storm Rifle was shown to deal 24 damage shields and 16 to health against Spartans who have 70 shield and 45 health points in multiplayer. The theory I have is that the Storm Rifle has a first-shot damage multiplier, causing the very first round in each burst the player fires to deal twice the normal damage (24 vs shield; 16 vs health), then the subsequent rounds go on to deal half that damage (12 vs shield; 8 vs health). Let's keep that in mind for a moment... If the weapon is fired semi-automatically, it should require 3 rounds to break the shields followed by 3 more for a kill; totaling 6 rounds. If the weapon is fired full-auto however, it should require 5 rounds to break the shield, followed by 6 more for a kill; totaling 11 rounds. If the weapon's rate of fire was 12 rounds per second, this should give it a TTK of 0.83 seconds, but that's still not at the 1.0 mark that was recorded in the video. This can only mean that the Storm Rifle's rate of fire has to be slightly lower than what is displayed in the video (about "10" rounds per second instead of 12). With a rate of fire 10 rounds per second, and 11 shots need to kill a fully-shielded Spartan, this would give the Storm Rifle a TTK of precisely 1 second at point-blank range. I have also figured out the precise energy depletion of each round fired from the Storm Rifle and calculated the total number of rounds it can fire before being fully depleted. [STORM RIFLE] Rate of Fire: 10 rounds/s Energy Depletion: 1.2%/shot (~84 rounds) Full-Auto Duration: 1.8 s Shots-To-Kill (STK): 6 (tap-fire) -> 11 (auto fire) Time-To-Kill (TTK): 1.0 (11 STK, auto fire)
Ok I'm getting triggered because you forgot to add in that the splash damage of blissful slumber could easily kill a light vehicle driver, such as a ghost or hog. It's not just useful for knockback them back exclusively. Other than that and the bayonet mixup, good work.
How to use the plasma rifle: 1- open req pack 2- obtain suppressor 3- equip suppressor 4- go into collection 5- sell all plasma rifle & variants And that is how you use the plasma rifle Edit: sorry this was meant for the brute plasma rifle/storm rifle comparison video
I rarely play with anyone during weekdays due to time constraints, but occasionally I have some sick squads going during weekends. If you see me on Halo during weekends, just message me and I'll Let you know
You ever notice how after they add the wacky boost mechanics, all the good variants of weapons have homing or frag rounds or something? Almost like they made the game harder with the boost/evade stuff and then sold simple gameplay back at a profit with REQs.
Pizzaeria z Los Santos it's a randomised idle animation, if you stand still for about twenty seconds you'll either get that animation or there is another animation you might get
My energy bayonet hasn't been killing most people in one hit. Even the knight blade as well. After it started to happen I put on increased strength and it didn't fix it. Could you make a video on that or at least explain? Thank you! :D
Dirtyfartbomb the people you're getting into engagements with are using increased armor, lets you survive a bayonet (good, it's a cheesy strat) and a sniper headshot (stupid, headshot should be a headshot) not including nornfang, h2 beam delta or any binary variants
Dirtyfartbomb unfortunately I don't believe it's enough to get the kill. As much as I dislike the bayonet, the increased armor mod allows people to survive pretty unfair things with no real tradeoff or disadvantage to the player

Aozolai you and ispiteful should battle I think it would be very interesting also do you know ispiteful
Aozolai But BS has arched projectiles. And I thought Fury fired slightly faster than Regular Storm Rifle.
Aozolai Can i install that map you're using

Precellence I thought the same thing
Huh, and i thought the blissful slumber killed faster this whole time
Ideally and statistically, it is even with the Storm Rifle/Fury in terms of TTK. However, in actual gameplay the Blissful Slumber does kill faster because of its larger plasma shots/blast radius. It's much easier to hit a moving target, thus faster kill.
Billonator117 it also feels like that cause as it pushes them back and obscurs their vision, they can barely shoot you
The main thing is that blast radius, you can hit the wall behind someone and still kill them, and if they have teammates even remotely close you will weaken them before they even pull the trigger. You probably won't even realize how much damage you are doing.
Tool of destruction is storm rifle
Player: Geez what is this guy on
I absolutely love the blissful slumber, it's my go to for level 3 (check my spire Battle video). It's also worth mentioning how quickly it melts overshield
Knuckles XXL mind leaving a link? I can’t find it.
Dude these analysis videos are great! Thanks for doing them!
If I could have any weapon from Halo 5 in real life, it'd be the Fury. I'd take a Fury with infinite ammo.

there is actually 1 dislike
I wonder what dork did that!
606 likes for every 1 dislike is worth it in my opinion. :D
Awesome analysis man, first time I see a breakdown as thorough as this is and I seriously appreciate thoroughness
Great vid Aozolailai!
;)
great video! I would've liked to have seen a burst fire and crouch comparison like u did with the assault rifle. keep these sick videos coming!
- What is that ?
- It's a Spartan.
- A Spartan ? 3:15
- It's a """"Spartan"""".
no..it a rip off
Nice and informative video dude. Keep it up!!!
Love the gameplay portion in these analysis videos.
I love your videos, SUCH SCIENCE! I LOVE IT!!!
I'm looking forward to Halo 6 just for your weapon analyses lol
Not even an H5 player but love your analysis videos. :) Keep it up! I especially enjoy that you include gameplay at the end.
NICE VID DUDE KEEP IT GOING!
Thanks buddy
I love the water gun
it's funny. I used to hate the storm rifle and avoid it like the plague. it's now one of if not my favourite weapon on halo 5
Oh accuracy tests, nice 👍 I like it
This is something we could have in Infinte very well
Your armor looks fresh af fam
Blissful Slumber has such a good blast radius!
12 shots/s
6-7 shots to kill
1.00 ttk?
This math doesn't check out.
What am I missing?
storm rifle has projectile travel time, so the distance factors into ttk also
iOrphic Spot on, the TTK of 1.00 s was calculated at 10 m - get closer to the target, lower TTK
Orpheus muzzle velocity 169m/s, at 10 m, the round travel time should only be 0.05s, insignificant.
Ok, something is definitely off:
Storm rifle fires 12 rounds/s, kills with 6-7 shots, muzzle velocity 169m/s.
At 10m, the TTK should be 7/12 + 10/169 = 0.64s

I love You...Tube
:'v fuck
Ouch
Can you do an analysis on the grunt goblin all variants, because I can easily taken one down by myself with a brute plasma rifle and br.
@Aozolai

dude was just in a warzone assault game with you great vid btw
I love this gun
Wow, that analysis of the Blissful Slumber was surprising. Ya think you know a gun, but it just goes to show you stuff :[
that blast radius on slumber is just insane omg and i never knew storm rifles do more damage than an assault rifle lol im dumb
Gotta love that like to dislike ratio!
İ love storm rifle design
People underestimate the storm rifle but it's actually quite dangerous when used properly like in close quarters
How to use the plasma rifle:
1- open req pack
2- obtain suppressor
3- equip suppressor
4- go into collection
5- sell all plasma rifle & variants
And that is how you use the plasma rifle
Edit: sorry this was meant for the brute plasma rifle/storm rifle comparison video
great as always, scattershot?
I think looks the plasma repeater or plasma rifle are better function storm rifle kicks ass.
AKA "Skill Gap"
Could you potentially do a Suppressors analysis soon?
Can you do one with plasma pistols?
will you do gravity hammers and Energy sword analysis as well?
Don’t headshots deal extra damage?
Hey man do a gravity hammer analysis.
Have you done a suppressor or boltshot one yet? If not you should
can you please do a sniper rifle analysis?
have you done spnkr ? if u haven't could you
People really don’t give storm rifles credit for how good they actually are.
Gr8 vid dude. One question can we play h5 together sometime
I rarely play with anyone during weekdays due to time constraints, but occasionally I have some sick squads going during weekends. If you see me on Halo during weekends, just message me and I'll Let you know
Aozolai This is why you're one of my favorite UA-camrs, most UA-camrs ignore people asking to play.
Holy crap these guns actually do a lot of damage......I should stop selling them
slayer157536 its the fastest killing auto(saw not included) but its the least accurate and overheats.
I only have one regular storm rifle, but thirteen brute plasma rifles. I want more.
Plasma repeater and plasma rifle looks simeler
Suppressors please
Wait a second, this is just L-star from titanfall 2

Josh Payne thansks
Storm betten than plasma repeater
hey aozolai
Calling it a rifle isnt good name... like this gun doesnt do any damage on head like its should be called a LMG gun instead
The only thing worse than the •ass•ult rifle is the storm(suck) rifle
0:34 lol I thought that said furry XD
The storm rifle is a good gun in halo5, but halo infinite does not have this gun. 343 Industries made another big wrong decision.
temprano

I love this gun
