Awesome video. Amazing that Dennis was so kind in allowing you to watch and get involved. That is invaluable, like you say the Haynes manuals only provide so much info and having the opportunity to be in the workshop under some guidance you’ve learnt some new skills.
Yeah he’s been great. I’m not the easiest to work with…I’m always asking questions and triple checking everything he does 😂 It’d probably be finished by now if I wasn’t there. But it’s a really good experience and I’ve learnt a lot. The good thing about Dennis is that he loves minis, enjoys working on them and has several himself so he’s passionate about what he does. Everytime I bring in a box of goodies for the car he’s more excited than I am 😂
It is…but having to part with the cash isn’t 😂 I’m literally going round looking for things I can’t use or don’t need use much anymore, just to fund it all. There’s so many things I never budgeted for. But hopefully it’s all worth it.
Im still undecided as to wether these were the better option. Its a really close fit to the wheels I have and I reckon drums might have given more clearance. I was always worried about heat build up so I opted for discs but now im driving the car I find I dont really go fast enough to worry about heat build up :-)

@@SmugwoodMini keep on documenting the rebuild. Love watching the series.
I will do 😊👍 And hopefully not long to go now before it’s rolling.
Looking great. Good tip with the cable tie too 👍
Thanks. Yeah the cable tie really helps. Fingers crossed its a job I never have to do again :-)
Looking great Lee 👍
Its getting there...done some more today...its actually rolling now...but only by pushing it. Got to get a few parts so we can progress.
It must be a pleasurable part of the build. All the new parts.
