- This was taken on 12/5/2019. On the monitor of Kyoto City Zoo on the birthday of Gentarou and Kintaro, the video explained in detail about their birth and childcare. I will introduce the video. From (7:22), I inserted a scene where Gentaro and Kintaro of the day play. I am refraining from going to Kyoto City Zoo this year due to the rapid increase in infection with the new coronavirus, so I will post the video from last year. Yesterday, Kyoto was in an emergency with more than 100 infected people.
Shortly after birth, Gentaro was in a dangerous condition due to lack of nutrition due to lack of milk from Genki. The Kyoto City Zoo hastily switched to artificial childcare and survived this crisis safely. Ten months later, Gentaro was returned to Genki and received enough Genki's affection. However, Gentaro, a spoiled boy who has monopolized Genki's love for seven years, loses all his mom's love with the birth of his younger brother Kintaro. Genki is raising a child of Kintaro, and it is impossible to care for Gentaro. In addition, the fact that Kintaro is hard to produce Genki's milk forces the people concerned to make a decision. However, this time, Genki's motherhood for childcare was strong and I decided to entrust her with childcare. As you all know, Kintaro has managed to grow thanks to the efforts of everyone involved.

Genki didn't carry gentaro around and care for him like she did with kintaro. The connection was never really there.

This is a lovely story about Gentaro. There is some footage of Genki and Gentaro Bonding and then her being very protective of him at first when Momo met him. Genki and Gentaro slept together until Kintaro was born.
10 years ago there were not as many You Tube videos, or videographers filming at the zoo everyday. That's why there is more footage of Kintaro and Genki it has nothing to do with Genki loving Gentaro less than Kintaro.

@@sallypenhalli there are still quite a few videos. Most of them have genki taking gentaro's food from him. Or genki attacking gentaro when they were locked in the room together, every time he tried to pick up food. She only carried gentaro in the very beginning, she didn't carry him till he was four years old like kintaro. The are a lot of big differences between the two. At 10 1/2 months gentaro could walk and eat solid food. At 10 months kintaro couldn't even stand up because his mother carried him everywhere. He was weak and underdeveloped. Nothing was the same between the two brothers.
@@bigboytoyz541 At 10.5 months Gentaro could walk and eat solid food because he was brought up by zoo staff who needed him to be independent enough just in case his mother rejected him. But that didn't happen. Unlike Ai who rejected her child entirely Genki always interacted with Gentaro even when he was not with her and took him back wholeheartedly after 10 months without him. That in itself shows a strong mothering instinct.
Genki had the same problems breast feeding Kintaro as she did with Gentaro. But this time around the zoo knew this may happen but also knew that Genki was an amazing mother. Based on that they were able to supplement kintaros diet by getting Genki to bring him to them for supplemental feeding. With better knowledge and the zoo and Genki working cooperatively Kintaro was able to remain with his family and after a shaky start gained weight.
Genki carried Kintaro for 10 months, the same age as Gentaro was when he was returned to her. After that she kept him close whilst allowing him to play with Gentaro. After a while she trusted Gentaro around him and let him go. At about age two Kintaro spent a lot of time up in the high beams exploring his environment with his family. And Genki let him. Once in a while she would go and retrieve him if he got stuck. Since that time he is very independent and bold.
To say that Genki carries Kintaro at age 4 is ridiculous, he sits with her and sleeps with her. Gentaro also slept with her until Kintaro was born and he was 3 years older than Kintaro is now.
I have never seen any videos of Genki attacking Gentaro when he was a small baby. If you reply include a link to them.

Momotaro is actually quite agile. Imagine being as big as he is & scrambling up & down the poles, swinging from the ceiling, & walking or running on a narrow beam. He is a wonder to watch!
