He does love his mother very much and for 7 yrs he didn't have to share her. Then Kintaro came along and took what he thought was his alone. Its been very difficult for him. I am looking forward to see how they resolve these issues with another baby on the way.

Genaro still yerns mom's love and closeness but mom is to busy giving Kintauro love. Gentaro feels so good just being close to her.
And now Kintaro and Gentaro are going to be dealing with the same emotions. I cant wait to see what happenes. All eyes on Kintaro to see if he takes the high road or follows the path paved by Gentaro

Beautiful, to see this lovely family having this special time together, it's getting colder in Japan, so maybe they just having a quite time in the sun and the warmth from one another , gentaro was mama's boy for so long and he does love her so much and this shows this in this video 💙💜💛

These are highly intelligent and very sensitive beings. This is why I can't stand zoos. These apes should be in a sanctuary where they can live free and regain some of their natural social behaviours that has been stripped anyway and continuos to be removed by being in this environment. Gentaro was the baby for almost 6 years and had the full attention from mama and now that kintaro is here Gentaro had to be weaned from mama as the baby and forced to grow up to the next stage in his life before he reaches adulthood. This was a very tender moment for this little family. Any one with a heart could feel it being tugged at while watching this today.
But if Genki was not in the zoo Gentaro would die (Gentaro birth was not very good, he only lived thank to the zoo help).

Gentaro ♥️. Such a sweet baby boy. So nice to see him cuddled up with momma and baby brother peacefully. He’s got his baby brother to play with now that Kintaro is bigger. He’s been so excited to have a playmate since Kintaro’s first day on earth and I don’t think he ever means any harm to anyone when it seems like he’s a little too rough. It was a big adjustment for him to go from being an only child to having to share his mommy.

They all look so peaceful...such a beautiful & spiritual sight to behold. Gentaro is his mother's twin. He is truly at peace. I hope and pray that Genki is in good health and the love and closeness they are sharing with each other continues. Poor Genki I'm here crying because I know that Gentaro know that somethings is wrong with his mommy They feel something is wrong Gentaro is sad and very quiet. These are without a doubt, some of the most heartwarming, intimate & tenderest of moments between a mother Gorilla & her young children that I've ever seen...I'm almost without words....Tears are still trickling down my face...At around 8:48 -ish, I just about melted into a puddle on the floor... *WOW* ...What a touching moment in time...Gentaro might be much larger & older than Kentaro, but he's still like a little boy who needs attention & love from his Mother while he still has much to learn...He's like a first grader who's the biggest boy in his class, but he's still playful & gentle, & seeing the looks of such love & contentment on Gentaro's face as he gently falls asleep snuggling against Genki with the baby just "floors" me...It doesn't get any better than this...
Zoo Land...Your excellent ability in capturing such emotion, & your magnificent closeups, is so very special & appreciated...Thanking you always...Poppy

Muito bom ver Gentaro dormindo abraçado a mãe, esse bebezão está ficando adulto e os animais tem sentimentos diferentes dos nossos, mesmo com alguns pontos de semelhança, eu acho que Genki o ama muito, ele por muitas vezes se mostra impertinente, mas é um misto de ciúmes com carência. Ela o ama tanto que qdo ele nasceu ela não tinha leite e ele foi separado por 10 meses e qdo o devolveram ela o acolheu com o maior amor. Os gorilas quando adultos vão embora e formam sua família e daqui a pouco essa hora vai chegar, e esses dois parecem não estar prontos. Kintaro precisa dela pra tudo até pra aquecer durante o dia por isso ela precisa dar mais atenção a ele, em vídeos antigos vejo Genki cuidar de Gentaro da mesma forma que trata Kintaro agora. Amo ❤️ Gentaro quando está nesses momentos ternura.

I know this was last year but just wish gentaro was like this towards his mum all the time look if mum didn't approve of gentaro laying on her like this she would move away the fact that she is still and calm tells us that mum does love gentaro
I don't think there's ever been any doubt that Genki loves Gentaro. It's just that Kintaro needs so much of her time & energy. She gets overwhelmed, impatient, irritable just like human mothers.

Наконец то и старшему сыну повезло, удалось прижаться к родному теплому маминому боку и безмятежно, как в детстве, уснуть. И снится ему, наверно, та счастливая пора, когда он был у мамы один и она была полностью его... А потом появился этот... малыш. И маминой любви и внимания стало не хватать... В редкие минуты покоя, пока малой спит, он тоже хочет насладиться, как и прежде маминым теплом. Привалился под бочок и чутко спит. Не семья, а идилия.
Gentaro still is the big baby 🥰, in future he grows up, hope he can stay in this family don’t go to the other zoos🙏🏻

Then they must castrate him, and since Gorillas needs to be brought to breed, is is not allowed worldwide. You cannot keep adult males together.
AND: Genki cannot live with other females. Shall Gentaro make babies with his mother?
This too is not allowed by the breed program. They seek for every Gorilla the genetic best mate.
Gentaro and his father would fight until one is killed, and Genki would again start to eat her fingers.
They cannot stay together, dearest Pauline. It is sad, but it is the way of life.
