Rise of the Ronin was incredibly fun! I loved every second of it. Rarely do games allow your choices to so drastically alter events! Monster Hunter will always hold a special place in my heart. I'll never forget playing it for the first time on the PS2. I'd never have thought that console capable of what the original Monster Hunter pulled off. Especially when I confronted Lao Shan Lung and Fatalis. That game really pushed the limits of what the PS2 could do, and I'm glad their efforts haven't waned. Greatly looking forward to Wilds. South of Midnight looks very interesting. I love the themes that are intriguing, but woefully underexplored in media. A good budget game that'll get a hardcore gamer through a dry spell.
As a long time climber with current health issues preventing me to rock climb, the Cairn demo made me so HAPPY and hyped about the projects, it is surely impossible to fully transpose a sport into a game but still, it is done wonderfully, managing your balance and stamina, feeling the drill at every risky move, feeling relief at the end of a tough spot... it really is the closest I had to real climbing in any video game, I can t wait to play the game on release
Holding a grudge against a single individual instead of reviewing the game fairly is the difference between childish people who care about politics more than games, and someone with integrity committed to the medium and to doing due dilligence for their audience. Especially because we all know that if the game is amazing, certain crowds will forget the drama immediately, and if it’s bad, they’ll blame a single person for that failure. Don’t be reductive.
The backlash against Avowed stems from documented patterns of behavior and institutional priorities, not just one developer. The art director’s public antagonism (e.g., mocking "crusty white dudes," targeting Elon Musk) reflected broader studio attitudes that critics interpreted as hostile to traditional gaming demographics. Obsidian’s hiring practices (prioritizing non-white candidates) were framed as part of an industry-wide DEI push perceived to prioritize ideology over merit. This isn’t about "holding a grudge" but questioning whether these priorities compromise creative integrity or alienate audiences.
I've been living under a rock (and slowly dying of covid, apparently) so I hadn't actually heard of all these. I think I'll add quite a few of these to my to-do list..
20:32 you are kinda my role model in that area bro, I want to play games, I want to make reviewz in the future, and I want to give my honesty opinion, I dont want to be beholden to any franchise or corporation and hold any thing back, if it's good I say it if it's dog shit I say it, I don't know you brother but I've yet to find another UA-camr who feels as authentic and lest bias as you, keep it up and don't sell out
Games I'm excited for coming up: Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii (February) Atelier Yumia (March) Fantasy Life i: The Girl who Stole Time (April, hopefully) Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma (May)
The amount of time the word "money" has been used in this video is: 3 1. 19:39 2. 19:41 3. 21:58 P.s. No matter if you receive review codes or not, personally I will be waiting for your reviews, as I never buy on release and your optimistic opinions I like. Of course I will be ignoring most of the games as they are not my cup of tea
I honestly dont know anybody excited for civ 7 i love civ 5 and i dont know anybody who still play civ 6 what had been shown so far of 7 just looks like the complete wrong direction for the game
As much as I don't like it I have to agree. Civ 7 didn't move the needle for me one bit. The best days for that series looks like it's behind us, not ahead.
I still play Civ 6 vanilla. I wasn’t a fan of the deeper mechanics in the DLC as I play it casually. It’s nice to sit back with on the couch with a Steam Deck while I chill with the wife in the evenings
The year couldn't have started any better for me with Tokyo Xtreme Racer and Ninja Gaiden 🥰 even Freedom Wars. Excited for Yakuza, Ronin, Xenoblade and of course DOOM.
Man, wish Trails through Daybreak2 would get more love, it's such a good jrpg. Also Ronin is a good game, great combat and surprisingly enjoyable story. It was just too long if you wanted to do all quests and such.
Rise of the Ronin is my personal 2024 game of the year. I am stoked for The First Berzerker: Khazan and really looking forward to Carin. I am definitely trying Avowed because it is on Game Pass, but I am trying to keep my expectations low. I hope AC: Shadows turns out because my wife pre-ordered it for me even though I told her not to. I don’t usually like JRPGs, but Clair Obscur looks incredibly cool, so I hope there will be a demo or trial. The Doom games always look cool, but the only one I liked was Doom 3, so I probably won’t play it unless it is on Game Pass or PS+. I tried the last Monster Hunter Wilds beta on PS5 and loved the characters, music, voice acting, art style, and armor design. However, I didn’t really like the combat, and I hated the controls and menus. I will have to try again because I really wanted to like it. I am curious about Atomfall and South of Midnight. I might give them a shot if there is a demo or if they are on Game Pass or PS+.
6:47 Sorry, Mug, Monster Hunter just didn't clicked for me :( I'll still be glad to be your friend tho, if you can forgive a sinner like me... (mandatory time limit kills games for me).
Frankly Monster Hunter has never been a game for everyone. Worlds got a lot more popular than most games in the series but I don't think any fan of the franchise would blame an individual for not clicking with it.
@ It still has Monsters running away though, it's just not a hard time limit, so if the issue for you was psychological, it could help. Check out the open beta if you can.
Clair obscur expedition 33, south of midnight, and split fiction are ones that I am looking forward to. ❤
Maybe do a video focused on upcoming Indie dev games that look fun
Did I spy "Clair Obscur: Expedition 33" in there? I'll be waiting for those reviews on pins and needles.

Man, Monster Hunter is going to eat ALL of my free time, I really hope it delivers. I really enjoyed what they had during beta.
It'll be my first monster Hunter game cuz wife wants to play it. I'm excited, all I've seen is the cats cooking lol
@@MoonBunnyLoversWelcome aboard. It's definitely a better experience when you can do co-op when playing MH.
Mug. Don't be excited to play games from people who hate you. Have a backbone. Avowed is a good example of games that gamers should avoid.

It's so weird that Rebellion, the company from the guy doing the Medieval History UA-cam channel, doesn't do medieval themed games...
ty Mug!
God i love mugthief
Imagine loving a guy who shills for a game made by degenerates who focus on pissijg off political figures and general rarrcism.

15:12 Legend of Dragoon is what I start thinking about.
I'd also add Killing Floor 3 to the list as well. So far at least it's looking great!

2:30 I was; until they made Henry gay.
kerfuffle!
But what about your haircut?
I won't lie. AC Shadows will suck and Ubi will get bought out as a result.
2025 is looking pretty good for gaming i would also add Mafia The Old Country
P.S. Don't forget about Outward 2!
Date is unconfirmed though, right?
Honey wake up, mug dropped a video
You guys said this last year 'amazing games for 2024' and oh wow, none of the ones shown never came out and we just got woke slop for aaa all year...
