@rogeriocosta1035 the scope cam is making it look less clear than it actually is. It's a camera looking through a beam splitter that also has to be focused on top of the scope itself needing to be properly focused.
I like how you guys keep everything fresh. I love PA, but also enjoy Range Talk and the podcasts. The thing that I've learned (or re-learned) is that someone with the proper skills can use just about any firearm to good effect. Some equipment may make it easier, but firearms will miss if they aren't pointed in the right direction.
For this use case (and I am long time precision shooter), I built a 12.5” 6.5 Grendel AR15. Can shoot 123 gr supersonic to 900 yards with a can and also use it for close in work. I have used it in 2 gun competitions where I had to shoot well past 500 yards and with an FFP 1-10 LPVO it works as my “universal” gun. Only sad thing is the cheap steel case Wolf ammo is no more so it is kind of expensive to shoot now.
@@erroneous6947 the ballistics would not be ideal but it could serve. You would have to go with an AR10 profile instead of AR15 so it would be considerably heavier as it would be an AR "long" action whereas the Grendel is a "short" action and one of the reasons I chose it.
I went with a Grendel for my dmr build. The upper with 40 rounds of ammo loaded into magazines is right at 7 pounds. I can ring steel out to 800 yards (12" targets) reliably. Two more boxes of ammo weigh less than a pound and a half.

My two hunting bolt guns are a T3X 300 win mag and Cross in .308. the Tikka is way more accurate for sure but the cross is a cool little package. I can't seem to get the Cross to shoot better than 1.25" 6 shot groups while locked down even. I've tried 8 different factory loads and many hand loads while the Tikka shoots under .5" until it gets really hot.
It works well enough for my suppressed hunting purposes for now but I'm debating on SBRing it and twisting on a 10" 8.6 blk barrel. If I were to 6.5 creedmore it I would put a 20" barrel on cause that little cartridge needs every fps it can get.
This was great. You're a good team, and I feel like this is the first time I got to see how fast Henry is between final target acquisition and first shot. There's no hesitation after the correct reticle hatch encounters the target, and then the bullet is on its way.

It would be awesome if you could get your hands on a purpose built competition rifle, such as is typically seen in PRS. It would do allot to demonstrate that military weapons can often be outclassed by civilian competition guns.
Look at the new .338lp that the secret service uses.... it's basically a competition rifle... I know what your saying though, some civilian rifles like the accuracy international 🤌
@ThePatriotParadox no, neither of those are what I'm talking about. I'm referring to things like the MPA PMR, which is a dedicated PRS rifle in a chassis, with an ARC CDG action. AIs are nice guns, but they are just overpriced and overhyped and not truly built specifically for competition.

Just another way of looking at it. Two inch your own lol either way great shooting and again great Vidja
Nice adjustments, on the fly... With that one and a half mil hold reducing to one then splashing on ground for a high head hold at one mil... Ensuring no more meals for the target
Q Fix is a fantastic hunting rifle... Readily available barrels from PROOF and the easy change-over system means I can run a 20” 6.5 for fields and a 16” 308 in the woods… It will never replace my AI, but it wasn't meant to.
I still say the obsever gives the shooter the mil/moa hold instead of the range, shooter repeats the hold to the observer after he sets it on the scope turret (repeats it once he has the hold on the target if using holdover) the next comand is the wind hold which is also the clearance to shoot.
Good, concise review. Thanks for that tip about using your thumb for the cock-on-open resistance lifting the bolt handle. The Nightforce looks good, but every optic I’ve put on my Fix has made me unhappy. Running irons only now. Hunting in PA, so magnification isn’t necessary anyway. Maybe I’ll find one I like someday, but the balance and overall weight with just irons is phenomenal.
Have you looked into the 6mm Max? I would sincerely like to see y’all do something with the 6mm Max please. SOLGW is the only manufacturer of a rifle for it at this time. I’ve done my research on it, and it is supposed to be(designed to be) a more effective “combat” round with more range and power at distance with and without a long/short barrel. It is more reliable than other DMR chamberings due to the bolt being the same size as a 5.56 bolt. And the magazine geometry is better than its competitors like the 6 Arc. It is Based off the 350 Legend case.
What I'd be curious about is the ballistics of more powerful cartridges out of 14.5"-16" barrels. Most ballistics charts I see for anything bigger than a short action load is for 20"-28" barrels and they are almost always 1:10 twist. How does a 6.5 PRC, 300 Win Mag or a 338 do out of a carbine length barrel? What twist rate would be best for these applications? Which gives the most up?
To me FGMM is the standard when it comes to 308. The Fix I had for a short time had a terrible time with light primer strikes. Q told me to use ammo with a softer primer. That is not the solution in my mind. If a gun won’t function on Federal, the gun has issues. Sent it on down the road. Besides, the accuracy was far from impressive.
