To be honest, I don't have experience sizing up one-size vintage patterns, but I'll have a video out this weekend on sizing up multi-size patterns, and I'll do one next month on sizing up one-size gridded patterns.
That was a fantastic result. And as for sizing up one-sized period patterns, yes please! (The ducks clear know you are outshining them, and are jealous. Probably one of them stole your lost feather)
What fun! You look like you stepped out of an Impressionist painting. And anybody who quacks at ducks while shaking her bustle is my kind of person! Thank you!
Sis you are such aprincess, i loved this! this seres literally made me love the second bustle era, i can finally see why everyone loves it because your beautiful figure and confidence really glamorized the hell out of it, you proved that the silhouette is all you need to master an era of historical fashion, and honestly i appreaciate your dedication in reminding everyone that, yo, people of all sized existed in every period of history and still loooked very regal and important as shit living their best victorian life! i have never liked the busle eras, but now i want to try and make one for myself. Even though we are opposite types of women in many ways, you still really drew me in with your content. I was literally angry you made us wait for the big reveal omg i was so excited!
I'm screaming "No No Rebecca, don't go puddle jumping in that beautiful dress!!!!!!" But over she goes Stunning gown.... then over the fallen tree....and frolicking at the waters edge.... oh my... love it👍👍
You have become my favorite UA-cam friend, you are so lovely and encouraging. Yes. Please do one on sizing up vintage patterns. And how to clean the skirts after a day at the beach!
Aww, thank you so much! My video next week will be on upsizing multi-size patterns. If you have a multi-size vintage pattern, it will work, but unfortunately a lot of vintage patterns are one-size, which makes things much more challenging. And I wore my dress in the snow this weekend for pictures, and surprisingly, it cleaned up a fair bit of the hem. I still have some dirt to get off it, though, but probably not enough for a full video's worth.
I'm not going to listen to you any more when you say that you're not liking something! This came out fantastic! The sleeves are just fine. Your friend in the snow is a hoot. How much fun you all have. Very good work! Big hug for this one--fabulous! Going over trees, girl, you are too funny. Just done try to walk on that pond!
This is so utterly charming! I feel it is a Valentine to femininity. The lady enjoys the beach with such gaie abandon, she neglects her boots and gloves and hems exactly as one should in real life ! The photography was framed to the lady's and the landscape's advantage. I was transported in time and to an impressionist painter's view of the sunset and natural textures of stones, wood and water.Thank you for such a visual bon bon.
Your silhouettes are always amazing, well done in the foundation pieces. 👏 like you said it's all about the proportions, and you knock it out if the park every time.
Your peppermint 1890s bustle outfit is WONDERFUL! You did a really good job. The white parasol was such a nice touch. My cat, Scarlett O'Hara got up close and personal in front of the TV watching you on the beach. She approves too!
my only complaint, you took that gorgeous dress onto that beach, i saw the bottom ruffle drag the ground in places, hope the bottom of the dress didn't get too dirty. I was winching seeing that. if you do get the bottom dirty, how do you clean it? that would make a great video showing how you spot clean your outfits. i'm sure you just don't toss them in the washer.....do you?
It got a little dirty, but I wore it in the snow this weekend, and it actually cleaned a bunch of it off. I don't toss them in the washer, though. I will probably go at the hem with a scrub brush near the shower - probably not enough for a whole video!
What a beautiful outfit! I too am "plus size" your looks are giving me the courage to be adventurous! I'm not as worried about the silhouette. Thank you so much for sharing.
So hard to choose my favorite elements, I love the pleating and details on the skirt, and the bows on the bustle make the whole ensemble come alive! Just a triumph, thanks for taking us on this journey! Loved every minute of following along.
Would love a how to on how to size up ☺️ - this dress is very fun and pretty, I like stripes 😄 The Kardashians has nothing on your bussel and pad 😅😍 such a lovely shape
Very Beautiful, great job! My favorite part was how the bottom ruffle flips about as you walk! Thank you for sharing, it was a delight to watch your design process, very inspiring!
So beautiful!! I love how the pleated skirt ruffle flutters when you walk, magical! Your combination of vintage and new trims look amazing, well worth all your hard work!
So close! But I did take some pictures of it in the snow this weekend, which will wind up going up over on my instagram. And I have a different snow adventure video coming out tomorrow! :)
You look so gorgeous! And I can't believe how precisely you pieced all those chevron stripes together! That was really interesting. The explanation for the hair style was really helpful too. I made a traditional hat for a Swiss folk costume, but haven't been able to figure out how to secure it on my head. Those pincurls might just do the trick!
I love how you kinda show that Victorian women were still able to move and play and hop over things in these dresses. A lot of costume dramas act like victorian women's clothes made it impossible to even move.
Really like the way you did the chevron at the front of the hat. Only thing I would have said is to make the back of the hat slightly longer than the front as it helps keep it on the head and the bun sits inside on some styles or rests around the bun on some. But i guess it's all personal choice. And i agree about the hair style of the era XD it's awful. I much prefer the 1870's. I also use De gracieuse as well as Harper's bazaar for my stuff. You made a real knock out, you should be proud
Thank you! And yeah, I wish I had made the crown of the hat a little wider around, more like the fashion plate I used for inspiration. But I didn't realize how different it was till after I had finished it!
Oh wow the peppermint dress looks amazing! I hope you can figure out something to solve the bleeding. My favourite part is probably entirely unplanned by you, but as you're walking sometimes the bottomost row of trim flipped up to reveal more stripes in another direction change! Also I would love to know about upsizing grid patterns.
The dress turned out beautifully. You look amazing! The dedication to details really shows. It’s at times when you are showing beaches that I miss the west coast. I would love a video on sizing from a single size diagram.
So awesome to see the completed project! It looks amazing. I used to live on the Olympic Peninsula, and it was wonderful to see that beautiful Washington coastline. Yes, please, on the sizing up tutorial. Thank you for everything you do!
Your dress and hat came out great. Regarding your hair, I've read articles of how the hair pieces worn at the time offen didn't match the wearer's real hair. That makes your hairstyle historically correct. I would also love if you did a tutorial on sizing patterns from one size to plus size. Great video.
The entire outfit is wonderful. You should be very proud of the end result. As "extra" as the hat is, it's no more "out there" than the crazy fun dress is. A perfect pairing. Also, as soon as you put that hairpiece on your forehead I was struck by how flattering bangs are to your face. Seriously, that hair style looked really good on you. Oh, and a video on grading up one-size patterns would be very helpful. I look forward to your videos every week. And DUCKS!!
Thank you! I managed to take a few pictures of this in the snow this weekend, too, which I'll be sharing over on instagram. It made it look so Christmassy! :)
All I can say is WOW! The overall effect is dazzling! And tbh I unironically love the short bangs. :D I would also super appreciate the tutorial on upsizing vintage pattern, thank you!
It turned out beautifully! You look stunning all dressed up by the sea, and it looks like you are having fun 🤩 I am living vicariously, as we are still without power here in Texas
Your dress turned out so beautiful! I have loved watching the progress videos and this one. Yes, Yes, please make a video showing how you size up. This is something I really struggle with and intimidated by.
I really like doing my own patterning! Please show us how to use these patterns for our curves! Also, thank you for making dresses from fabric I can get. Knowing that fun stuff can be made with “normal” fabric is very helpful to my budget!!
I've seen photos of people with 1880s hairstyles, and they don't seem happy to be wearing them either! Nevertheless, you make it work, and the outfit itself is gorgeous!
Stunning! I think that the back bunches up due to it being a little bit too long. If you don't wear the bustle pillow, that might keep the back from being pushed up. Or maybe a less padded pillow.
This was a phenomenal project and you did a fabulous job. I just love the whole ensemble. Some many glorious details... I hope you are thrilled with it. I'm looking forward to the next big project!🥰
the finished outfit has come out so good! Love all the direction changes on the stripes, and the accessories finish it off perfectly :D OMG ok the ducks were a great way to end!
Yes, please! The world needs a video of how to up-size vintage patterns. A lot of them come in ridiculous sizes.
Agreed!! Would love to see a video on sizing up 😊
Thank you! I'll have that video out next month!
What fun! You look like you stepped out of an Impressionist painting. And anybody who quacks at ducks while shaking her bustle is my kind of person! Thank you!
Hahah! Thank you! :)
Careful about going out dressed that fine, you might attract an army of courters!
I know nothing about sewing but I really enjoyed this series. The finished result is hella impressive and you are very, very cute in it.
Thank you so much!
The hat is DEFINITELY not too much! It's just perfectly proportional and plate accurate and chef's kiss 💜
Thank you!
I love how she even did that 1880s hair, she looks like she stepped out of a 1880s fashion template I love IT!!!
Your finesse getting over the fallen tree was lovely. I would have fallen on my face, broke a bone or two and ripped the dress.
Sis you are such aprincess, i loved this! this seres literally made me love the second bustle era, i can finally see why everyone loves it because your beautiful figure and confidence really glamorized the hell out of it, you proved that the silhouette is all you need to master an era of historical fashion, and honestly i appreaciate your dedication in reminding everyone that, yo, people of all sized existed in every period of history and still loooked very regal and important as shit living their best victorian life! i have never liked the busle eras, but now i want to try and make one for myself. about the colorfastness: peppermint candies are color fast, how appropriate!?
Thank you so much! :)
You are so sweet, and your peppermint bustle is a smashing success!
Thank you so much!
I'm screaming "No No Rebecca, don't go puddle jumping in that beautiful dress!!!!!!" But over she goes Stunning gown.... then over the fallen tree....and frolicking at the waters edge.... oh my... love it👍👍
Hahah! Thanks! I still have to have adventures! ;)
Yes to the sizing up one size diagrams!! I need it! Lol 😂
I'll try to get it in next month!
It turned out SO LOVELY. Great work, really and truly
Thank you so much!
Stunning! Although I was a tad shocked by the flash of not only ankle but also shin - deary deary me - what will the neighbours say?! 😇🤭🤣
Oh it's wonderful! By the way, it's Matelassé - ma te la SAY. Great fabric for custom bedding and cushions.
Thank you! I'll have to remember that pronunciation. :)
The hat was totally time-period appropriate. They were in a gaudy but fun time period. Lovely!
I may have only been there once but I recognized that pier immediately! I miss the ocean so much. 😭
All of your hard work on this outfit was totally worth it! You rock, girl
I love the way the skirt moves, especially the way the lower frill moved as you walked. Thank you for all your videos
Thank you!
I agree! Those pleats were already impressive, but seeing them in motion was absolutely magical.
I think the best part of this whole series is how happy you look while wearing the dress! Congrats!
Thank you!
You have become my favorite UA-cam friend, you are so lovely and encouraging. Yes. Please do one on sizing up vintage patterns. And how to clean the skirts after a day at the beach!

When you walk - I love the way the bottom trim moves in such a fun way- so perfect!!!
You look great in this! The stripe pattern on the back really makes the whole look. Brava!
Thank you!
This is so utterly charming! I feel it is a Valentine to femininity. The lady enjoys the beach with such gaie abandon, she neglects her boots and gloves and hems exactly as one should in real life ! The photography was framed to the lady's and the landscape's advantage. These stripes turned out incredible! What a fun look! Congrats Rebecca, great job!
Thanks so much! 😊
Well we all need to know how to manage our derpiness!
And upsize? Yes please!!
You look amazing. You did such great work and watching the process was so helpful. Btw...I was impressed by the log obstacle traversing. 😁😁😁
Thank you so much!
Wow! Hairdo magic!
I am utterly blown away by anybody who can do falls and such, I have no idea about hair past washing it.
I really love the movement of that skirt. Seaside perfection :) The shot with all the birds was great!
What a delightful and talented young woman you are! That dress and that skirt in particular, are a real tour de force!
The way you made sure the stripes lined up is SO impressive! And Yes, please, to sizing up a pattern to plus size! I loved this series!
Thank you! And the first sizing up video will be out this weekend!
Your silhouettes are always amazing, well done in the foundation pieces. 👏 like you said it's all about the proportions, and you knock it out if the park every time.

You look AMAZING!!! It all came out wonderful! Such talent! Great job!!

I think the hat is just enough extra 😎 lol this dress turned out amazing!!!
Thank you!
Chef’s kiss on the entire ensemble, especially the hat 😉

It turned out so lovely and you looked like you had alot of fun playing on the beach.
Thank you! It was fun!
It's all completely fabulous! Well done 😁
Thank you! 😊
I know that stretch of the Sound! My husband used to live up that way! I love the stripes, and it looks so happy against the grey of the PNW!
This came out so beautifully! I love all the pattern the fabric striping gave and the velvet accents!!!
Thank you! 😊
It came out amazing!!!! 👏👏👏
Thank you!! 😊
Beautiful reveal!!! A joy to behold. You are a talented seamstress 🍀🪡

I absolutely love your videos. They're so inspiring. Everything you make is wonderful but this exquisite Bustle Gown blew me away!
I've really enjoyed watching you make this bustle dress. I'm in awe of your pattern matching skills with all those stripes.
Thank you so much!

Come back here! ;)
So beautiful!! I love how the pleated skirt ruffle flutters when you walk, magical! Your combination of vintage and new trims look amazing, well worth all your hard work!
Thank you so much!
Fabulous - I love the way you've used the direction of the stripes against each other
You almost got to film in the snow! Thank you for sharing your project with us!
So close! But I did take some pictures of it in the snow this weekend, which will wind up going up over on my instagram. And I have a different snow adventure video coming out tomorrow! :)
Very very cool thank you so much how fun is this! Lol derpy... what did Laura ingalls wilder call it? Oh yeah the lunatic fringe
Wow! You are just ROCKING this dress! It's beautiful and you're beautiful, a wonderful combo!
Thank you so much!

Thanks! They really could do pretty much everything. I'm actually planning a video doing exercises in a corset and everything for next month. :)
Love how this turned out!!! Would love to see a video on sizing up.
Thanks! I'll have one out this weekend!
Lovely! The stripes are stunning, and red is one of my fav colors! And who doesn't love red velvet?
Thank you! And yes, I've been obsessed with velvet lately!
Your whole ensemble turned out beautifully! ♥️ fun at the beach... and ducks! ♥️
Thanks so much! 😊
Hair style looks good. Even the color doesn't look bad.
A beautiful dress and an equally lovely woman. It looks like fun out there ❤

@@LadyRebeccaFashions awww it still looks great though! And your tip about the curls backwards was sheer genius!
Oh wow the peppermint dress looks amazing! I hope you can figure out something to solve the bleeding.

@@LadyRebeccaFashions Thank you I'm looking forward to it 🙂
I love it 😍😍
Thanks!
The dress turned out beautifully. You look amazing! The dedication to details really shows. It’s at times when you are showing beaches that I miss the west coast.
I would love a video on sizing from a single size diagram.
Thank you so much! And I'll try to do that video for March!
Truly gorgeous - your sewing skills are amazing and this dress is perfection. You look beautiful!
So awesome to see the completed project! It looks amazing. I used to live on the Olympic Peninsula, and it was wonderful to see that beautiful Washington coastline. Yes, please, on the sizing up tutorial. Thank you for everything you do!

Such a lovely playful beach video!

Just lovely. Lucky you got this filmed before the snow storm. I'm still snowed in up on our hill. I love the dress so much!!!!
Thank you so much!
Finally catching up on content today. This turned out beautifully!
Thank you!
Great turn out, Rebecca! I was surprised to see your corset is the de Gracieuse that I am working on right now - looks great on you!
It turned out beautifully! You look stunning all dressed up by the sea, and it looks like you are having fun 🤩 I am living vicariously, as we are still without power here in Texas
Oh no! I thought everyone had their power back by now. I hope it comes back asap!
Your dress turned out so beautiful! I have loved watching the progress videos and this one. Yes, Yes, please make a video showing how you size up. This is something I really struggle with and intimidated by.
Thank you! And it's coming this weekend! :)
I really like doing my own patterning! Please show us how to use these patterns for our curves! Also, thank you for making dresses from fabric I can get. Knowing that fun stuff can be made with “normal” fabric is very helpful to my budget!!
I've been thinking of doing a video specifically on costuming on a budget, too. This one was definitely a good example of that!
i am a sucker for stripes and pleats. I am in love with these. Lovely job. This the outfit that got me watching your channel, so, thank you.
Thank you so much!
Your outfit is magnificent !!! Thanks for showing how it was made
I've seen photos of people with 1880s hairstyles, and they don't seem happy to be wearing them either! Nevertheless, you make it work, and the outfit itself is gorgeous!
Hahah! So true. And thank you!
Magnificent! And to watch the process....all the ups and downs and problem solving makes you very fun to watch . Thanks for sharing ❤
Thank you very much!
Thank you so much! And yes - I'm quite happy with how it turned out! :)
the finished outfit has come out so good! Love all the direction changes on the stripes, and the accessories finish it off perfectly :D OMG ok the ducks were a great way to end!
Thank you so much! :)
Gorgeous! All your hard work paid off 1000%
I love this so much! You look absolutely amazing, and this Peppermint Dress is to die for!
I would very much appreciate a video on how to size up those patterns! Thank you!
