How you managed to remove the oil cover without removing the timing cover. In my case cover seems to be sticking to timing cover. I have to replace rod bearings and i am thinking of not pulling the engine out. Appreciate your work. Very inspiring.

Thanks for the comment. After removing the bolts from the oil pan if it seems stuck you might have to cut the silicone that is holding it. Cheers from John and Audrey

Thanks for this video, otherwise I would have no idea how to get the last bolt out of the engine/transmission housing. Pulled the right side drive shaft to gain clearance for removal.

Thanks for you comment. Happy to hear the video helped, there is always one bolt in a bad place, when you know what to do it always helps. Removing the right axle was the way to go, giving more room to work. Cheers from John and Audrey

Thanks again for these videos I'm currently using as a manual to pull out my own engine! BTW, I have a few questions I would appreciate if you can answer:
    - is it necessary to remove oil pans and plate for releasing the fly wheel, or it can be done through the small window below? You had oil pans already installed when you put the engine back and connect the fly wheel through that small window.
    - is it worth to remove spark plugs to ease turning the crankshaft for releasing the fly wheel, or there are some reasons not to do that?
    - which tools/paste did you use for crankshaft polishing?
    Thanks in advance!
PS. Getting out an alternator for getting more space for taking out an AC compressor is a hell of a job, need some tricks to do that!

Thanks for the comment, if your engine can rotate it is not necessary to remove the oil pan everything can be done through the small window. I don't think it is necessary to remove the spark plugs, but if you are having difficulties in rotating the engine it might help.
I wet sanded the crankshaft with a strip of smooth fine sandpaper because it was not scored or out of oval. If I remember correctly, we loosen the radiator and moved it over a bit to get the alternator out.
      Cheers from John and Audrey

@@purecanadianlifestyle Thanks for the hints, appreciate that! Also, could you tell me what kind of bolts did you use to mount the engine to the stand?

Thanks for the comment, I can't remember the exact bolts but they were just random bolts I had around being strong enough grade and fit through the stand and block of the engine. Cheers from John and Audrey

Thanks for the comment, if you are working on the same engine (3.5l V6). To separate the housings for the passenger side axle and rear driveshaft you must loosen ( I think there was 5 bolts) that surround the housing and remove the axle support bracket on the passenger side as you can see in the video, then you will be able to separate them. Hope this helps. Cheers from John and Audrey .
