Hey bro!! Nice! BTW its Ultegra r8070, not r8050. 😉 The difference is that the 8050 is with rim brake and the 70 is with disk. Just a fyi. In the canyon web they have it as 8050 but its a mistake... ITS JUST FOR PEOPLE TO KNOW INFO CORRECTLY. Thats all. Love it man! Enjoy it!

NBD: Best days in the world! Thanks for having me relive the experience once again! Exactly one week ago I got my Ultimate CF SL 7 '21, a different model, but same unboxing experience (it feels almost like an Apple unboxing!) One week in, I've done 196Km so far and I really love the bike! PS: @22:35 - yes, very annoying: paper-based (although laminated) stickers on frame (and in my case also 2x rim, because of a rim-brake waring) that tear apart half-way through, leaving exposed paper, glue and partially a plastic covered bit... Not the nicest experience: you don't want to use scrapers / aggressive solvents on your 1 day old carbon frame / rims ...
Thanks! Heb mijne vorige week besteld en wordt begin februari geleverd, ziet er gelukkig uit dat het in elkaar zetten van de fiets vrij goed te doen is. En anders pak ik deze video er weer bij :-)
TBH I believe tightening to MAX torque except for on cassette and disc brakes (which are 40nm) is not recommended. Usually 15-20% less than max is where you want to be. Also, good to always grease your thru-axles.
How did u get the plastic chain / cassette saver out of it’s position? I don’t want to go the my local bike store and pay 10€ just because I don’t have the needed tools. An answer would be really helpful:)
It’s quite easy, take a pair of cutting pliers and cut the edge. Then break it trough and wiggle it out. Can’t destroy anything and the plastic thing has to go so that doesn’t matter.
WOW!!! Super cool bike! I love it!!! I don't have one (yet?). How does it drive? How fast does it feel? How stable does it feel while driving corners? Would you recommand it? It looks super cool and fast!! And I love the blue colors!!!! I wish you loads of fun on your beautiful Canyon Aero!! Greetings, Vincent :-)
I have an Aeroad and I can tell you, it does feel very fast and stable. You can throw the bike around from corner to corner in a decent like you're on a motorbike on a racetrack. I can't compare it to other aero bikes thought because before this I had a Scott that was more tailored to climbing. I would definitely recommend it though, it's a very comfortable and fast ride for sure!
A million thanks for making this video because I’m planning to buy the same bike. This will be my first Aero Bike and with the Di2 but I’m just a little hesitant because of this electronic shifter. How often you charge the battery and are they easy to use?
Hi Apo! This is my third Di2 bike. I ride 400+k a week and charge it three times a year. Never ended up with a dead battery. Charging is super easy trough the connector, it's on the handlebar. I did have a small issue with a cable on my previous bike but that was an easy fix as well.
Hi Vélofiel, great video. Thanks. I am ordering an Aeroad in Jan 2021 when the next batch are released. If you are 184 high and 91 inside leg you are a Large. Was there a reason why you did a Medium.? Does the seat post go high enough? That is my big concern. I am 180 height 89 inside leg, I notice the Canyon Aeroad goes to a Large with an inside leg of 90cm. So I am right on the edge of a Large. So does seat post go high enough for you? How’s the reach?
Hey Luke! I ordered an M because of the reach, it’s pretty tight and you have to be flexible. The seat post isn’t a problem. But if you have aren’t that flexibel in your lower back I’d opt for a large.

Thanks for the great unboxing vid! I’m considering switching from an Endurace to that exact same bike. Which cockpit does the “blue fade” model come with? CP10 or H36? Also how is the ride after a couple hours in the saddle, especially with a lot of climbing? Thanks again?
You’re very welcome!! It’s the H36 cockpit. This is my third aeroad and I ride every terrain and time with it. Rode 544km last month without any pains or issues: ua-cam.com/video/a5NLveInngE/v-deo.html. Climbing isn’t a problem at all, the only thing is I have to switch between standing and sitting down a little more.
@@zwiftcyklist Awesome thanks! One more thing. Which Wahoo/Garmin mount did you go with? I'm having trouble sourcing a legit wahoo specific mount and Canyon's own Garmin mount (which can be modified to work with Wahoo) is out of stock in the US. Thanks again!
Thanks for the detailed video, just a quick question, how is your climbing experience with this bike, is it too uncomfortable? I'm about to pull the trigger but still cant decide whether I should go with Canyon Ultimate CF SLX Disc 8.0 SL or aeroroad.
Thanks! This is my third Aeroad and I ride the Alps with it. It’s quick uphill and insanely quick downhill. The ultimate is a bit lighter and less stiff so it’s more comfortable to ride. If you’re lower back is okay I’d always go for the aeroad. And sl or slx is pretty much only a weight issue, I’d save €1000 and add a couple of grams😅😜
Hey, I'm thinking of same aeroad but I couldn't decide between SL and SLX... do you know biggest difference between two? I know that SLX is lighter but anything else? thanks
They don’t sell this type in slx anymore... just the 9.0 is available as slx. My previous one is an slx and it’s weight and material. Not worth the €2000 extra for normal cyclist like us.
Do u have the same "issue" on ur aeroad that the brandnew cassette has got a tiny swing while rotating itself when you're cycling? Or is it a normal thing, and I am worried about nothing 😅
Geweldige mooie racer.
Nice, but it’s so expensive. I am considering between your one and the rim break version without di2. Which will be 2k cheaper. Which would you recommend?
It depends on what you want. Di2 is a luxury product that offers more comfort and control but normal shifting works just as good. If budget is the thing i'd go for the rim brake without Di2. Wout van Aert won Milan - San Remo and the Strade on rimbrakes:P
An aeroad isn’t build for climbing, the ultimate is. If the climbs are short and you can sit on a super stiff bike I’d go for the aeroad, it is and feels faster! If you want to climb long climbs and ride comfortable the ultimate is a better choice.
Nice bike man, but ... I can't affford one, :(, I need to work 2 days non stop, to afford a bike like yours .:))) but without disck brakes, because I don't like it, Canyon they raised the price on their bikes and I don't like it.
