ETD Interpreting Scripture 4

This class is part of the East Tennessee District Church of the Nazarene Ministerial Studies Curriculum.
This lesson focuses on the tools Jesus and the Apostles used to interpret scripture including Typology (how God acted in the past is a good indication of how He will act today) and Pesher (applying prophecy to the present generation). While we would NOT use these interpretive tools today, they were very acceptable (and credible) to the people of Jesus' Day.
