Please disclose as to if you were 'provided/given' this equipment to use. Granted you said not paid by KUIU but failed to mention if you actually paid retail for it. Been a fan of their gear when Jason was promoting it and they toured the country stopping by cities with a semi.

You got my attention. Im a die hard kuiu junky myself, however i absolutely hate the guide series. Just way to baggy and loose feeling. I stay with the axis and talus hybrids, or the attack pant and axis jacket. SO PLEASE, DO A SIDE BY SIDE COMPARISON OF THE GUIDE DCS AND GUIDE PRO. I cant seem to find any comparison videos to truly change my mind on them.

I own both Guide Pro and the Axis, I use the guide pro for October or warm November days here in Alberta Canada and when I need the extra wind water and snow protection I moved to my Axis in one size up from XL to XXL for layering I can honestly say I love them both, Also running the double XXL in the axis allows me to put my Super down pro underneath for those -20°C hunts you just can’t go wrong

@@Canadaman4403 you put the super down under Axis jacket when moving around or stationary? If moving around would you not sweat even in -20 c ?

Good video! I was wondering whats the “huge” difference between the GUIDE vs GUIDE PRO…. Since its only about a $20 difference… can you answer that?

The Guide Pro is going to be lighter, more flexible in stretch and a bit more durable. The Guide Pro series is designed for mountain hunting, The DCS series is quieter and a bit more breathable making it more versatile for other styles of hunting.

Is there enough room to layer the Kenai Pants under the Guide Pro? Being able to add that additional layer of insulation is why I like the Axis Pants so much.

The answer for me is yes I have the Kenai pants , vest and the Kenai jacket and I am able to wear the XL size underneath both my axis and my attack pants as well as my guide pro jacket and axis jacket and pants…I’m 200 pounds 6 foot tall and wear a size 36 pants and an extra large XL jacket size and a little more info the super down pro in XL fits over both as well.

Good to know. I have the guide dcs and hate it. Almost makes it feel colder with it on if that makes sense. For what you pay for the stuff just disappointing and leaves me shy about trying other stuff from them. Maybe just maybe I’ll give them one more chance. Have their packs love it and love their patterns. We’ll see glad you have good luck with them.

Do you have the same size in it like you have in your Guide DCS jacket?

Are the guide pro new-new or are they just a new model to you? I recently called up Kuiu looking for recommendations on a softshell and they pointed me towards these and the axis hybrid. The Axis hybrid has the waterproof paneling and the guy recommended it especially since they were on sale cheaper than the pros. Just got my Axis hybrid Thursday.

Not finding that for less than $319. What did you pay, and where?

I am specifically looking at buying the Guide Pro for winter fly fishing as well as working out (rucking) outdoors, and right now it's a tossup between it and the Patagonia R2 TechFace Pullover. I'm looking for soft, warm, comfortable, and non-restricting for obvious reasons since I'll be doing a lot of casting. I understand the main advantage of the Guide Pro is wind resistance - do you have any other thoughts? Would appreciate any and all advice.
