Your U tube videos and my son just buying 2003 ZO6 inspired me to buy a 2001 C5 Convertible. Torch red with the red interior and an automatic trans. Keep up the good work! I am a fan albeit an oldy I am 75👍🤠🇺🇸
I work at the engine plant that builds the Corvette engines. I remember the old Head Assembly Department and how they were assembled back then, you should see how we do it now! Keep up the good work!
Thanks for the update Chris. As long as the engine is disassembled to this level, I'm a little surprised you didn't go ahead and have the valves ground. Compression springs are really interesting to watch with a strobe light while the engine at speed.
Great video Chris. I've decided I'm going to wait with my heads and port them myself. I'll have a video on that later in the fall. Glad you brought back the elevator music.
For a first time doing this, you did a good job. The only thing I would have done differently would be to have a 3 angle valve job before assembling the heads.
Enjoyed the VLOG. Nice to see all steps you have to go thru to install the new Springs. I saw the Garage Cooler sitting in the garage. How is that working out for you?
I really have more of a love for the OG LS1-9 They are built with serviceability designed in. The gen 5 LT1/ LT4 direct injection and no gasket all rtv thing kind of upsets me lol Looks like you are having fun modifying your C5. Keep up the great work!
They really are. I’ve never tore into an engine before in my life, and this is very easy to me. Given I do get some instruction from UA-cam and friends, but still.
AWESOME!!! Great video Chris!!! You are going to be haulin’ some serious ass here soon man!!! I am excited to see the dyno run after you button her up. By the way no hoods needed in Arizona? Sweet!!!

That’s awesome! I’d love to tour the facility some time.
Mike Flear now you can even build your own engine as an option on the C7 build sheet?
Just had our open house and car show last week, second Friday of August every year
That’s sweet!!!

Chris, another great informative video. Really enjoy this stuff.

I could use this tool right now would make life so easy
Nice job. I like what you're doing to the car.
I like the ingenuity with the bed pans...😁
🤣
Congratulations to you both! Very best wishes and please do try and keep up with videos as they are great! 🙂
Nice set up
Nice job on the video. Watching this makes me wanna do this in the spring lol.

Great job man!
Looks good

Yea, I learned that the hard way...
I would have opted for a minimum of hand laping each valve or 3 angle valve job or a standard valve job, for best compression.
what about just a slight engine tapping noise? should something be done or leave it alone? 😎 thanks

As long as I’m standing in front of it, it’s great! 👍

Dumb question, how did you know which way the valve spring went ?
They are symmetrical.
You forgot your o-rings on the valves

Yep. There is no law forbidding driving without a hood in AZ.
how many miles did it take for you to replace it? and also for the fuel filter?
Valve springs are not a thing you change based on mileage. I changed because of my cam. Fuel filter should be changed at least every 50k.
@@mycorvettelife im at 97k havent changed it once
