    Former employee here:
The last year I worked there, the manager stiffed me hours to ensure I didn't qualify for full time status, and therefore not eligible for insurance. I was worked to death, saw prices skyrocket while portion sizes and food quality dwindled.
I'm glad they gave me work experience, but this company was sold to people that are more concerned about padding a bottom line than they are making good food and keeping staff and customers happy. The store I worked at shut down a year after I left

An investment firm bought them out about a decade ago. When that happens quality drops.

Yes the investment firm will close and sell locations to make more profit from the real estate. Sad to see many Big Boy franchises closing nationwide, from Bob's to Shoney's, Elby's, Elias and now Frisch's.

It’s like Wendy’s, as soon as Dave Thomas died they went down the crapper too. I used to enjoy going to both places but not so much anymore.

I was a weekly Frisch's customer until about 2018. Sometime around then, the menu prices shot up by several bucks and the food became much worse. It was literally cafeteria quality. I stopped going because I don't want to pay $20 a person for high school lunch food. I used to like the tenderloin sandwich, the Big Boy, and the weekend breakfast bar.
I kept going after it stopped being any good. Half the selections on the bar weren't replenished, EVER. Bacon was raw or burned. It just became consistently shitty.

The whole restaurant structure needs to change as this problem is clearly not going away. I'm stunned so many new restaurants keep opening.

I’m 74…… I remember going to my Frisch’s BB on Woodward in the suburbs of Detroit. A BB combo (hamburger, fries and a coke) was 99 cents. I used to take my girlfriend out for a date (drive in movie, 2 BB combos and a popcorn) for under $5. I also love their Slim Jim sandwich. Inflation is the silent killer of our budgets!

Unfortunately it's a sad situation. Frisch's has been a very good staple in our tristate area, but the service has gone Way down. Unfortunately the Erlanger store had employees who were drinking out the back door, and the Florence location Dream St, the dining room leaders ran it into the ground, along with Management that was very aware of it..

    Frisch’s closure.
We are certainly saddened by any closure in our community. The restaurant industry has struggled and is still experiencing workforce issues and out of control rising food costs. We are sorry to see the closing of Frisch’s, as it has been a fixture in out local community for many years. I would encourage all of our community members to Shop Local!”

It is like 4.00 for an iced tea at Frisch’s. I love their drinks but I won’t pay that price. It is better to set a price that customers will pay and everyone wins. When customers do not buy it is a loss for the business and the customer. Frisch’s drink prices are ridiculous. They have, unfortunately, been declining for a few years now. We are in a depression.

No a vulture investment form bought them out in 2014 or 2015. When that happens a chain is drained to pull all the profit it can. And eventually shut down.

Well I'm happy they are closing, the service, the food and the attitudes of the workers are horrible. They have just went straight down hill. I eat at Bob Evans where the prices and service is still top notch compared to Frisch's, and I might add cleaner. I went to Covington a month before closing and every table in the dining room was dirty that day, with one server doing it all.

At the end of the day, the quality of food has lowered, the quantity has lowered, the professionalism in staff has lowered. This starts at the top and filters down. Lowering of standards doesn't keep locations open and it certainly won't help for expansion.
However, we are also seeing rising costs accros the board, a declining economy, less money in the pockets of the working community. Couple this with a demoralized, decadent, lazy and entitled society that doesn't want to work and there is no wonder why we are seeing locations close.
