Hang in there Clara. It definitely gets easier. And like most here have mentioned, every rider has tough rides. Tough rides during lessons or training and there might be tough rides if you ever show. But those are the rides we learn the most from. Sounds like you did learn a lot from this lesson too. You’re a great rider.
Thank you so much!!! Yes it’s really tough in the moment but in the end I’m so grateful for this lesson, it taught me so much! And it definitely won’t be the last tough lesson I have for sure 😅 thanks so much 🥰🫶🏻
“The harder it gets, the easier it becomes!” I hope that really gets to your head! All of the kind people in this comment section has mostly said it but, you got this Clara! Trust me everyone has days like this, keep riding and keep pushing and you’ll get to be where you want to be! Never give up, the hardest horses teach you the most. xoxo - alexa💗
its so hard riding horses that test you but I promise that's the best way to learn. I noticed you do something I used to do and that's trying to hold them and tensing up your whole body, the best thing to do is completely relax your body and rely on your balance, then sitting the canter will become so much easier. I agree with most of what ur trainer said except one point, when she said he was going to fast she should've kept quiet, maybe you are going too fast but its clear you where anxious about it and at this stage of your riding its more about just learning how to go over stuff, the collection and control comes later.
Everyone has rides like that, I had one just a few days ago. Bad rides are something every rider has to do, and the hardest lessons teach you the most :)
i feel u, i had one today. ive been leasing a lazy horse so... its been quite awhile since i rode a forward horse and i was shook today when i had to ride one
honestly this happened to me too and after the ride i feel terrible for my horse. it’s because of me but i take it out on him. keep up the good work i’m proud of you!
Ou for slowing down a racey horse i got a tip some time ago that really helped me:D so: when the horse gets faster somehow (expecially in the sitting trot) we tend to tense up our butt and thighs and so and cant really get through with our aids. So it really helps to tense up the belly and abs and general core but remain the legs and hips and stuff really relaxed :] Hope somebody can learn as much from this as i did :D love your journey clara i think expecially in the canter you improved so so much 🫶
I feel you. I had such a tough lesson too yesterday, it killed my confidence. I know it's also partially the horse, he's just really difficult and I get this feeling every time I ride him. But it is such a setback when 1 lesson on a horse goes great and the next goes horrible.
My first few rides this year weren’t the best haha. I kept accidentally pulling on the reins while cantering, so the horse stopped multiple times and caused traffic 🤭 then I kept struggling with getting it to trot. I also struggled to correctly bring the hips forward instead of upwards. But I’m learning while my instructor gets a bit frustrated 😂
I totally know that feeling of frustration! Mine comes from fear a lot as a new rider and I just have to remember to move with the horse, deep breathe and try again. Great job!! Love your videos!
That little "Jesus christ" got me rolling 🤣 I've been watching your videos for only a few months by now so ik im late but sometimes we need these tough lessons. While yes they totally suck it's they're the best for your growth as a rider. We all make mistakes
Everyone has tough rides. My horse took off on me and I was ready to put my whole riding career to an end. Yet, we continued on in my lesson after we just did some control methods, this was also the first time I was on this horse.
Hi clara!, I had a riding lesson just today, we were practicing jumping and i did fall off and after that my riding wasnt the best, i just wanted to say everyone had bad rides and horses can get frustrated too!, So just hang on there and remember you are a GREAT rider!
I completely relate to your feelings in this video. I often restrict my horse’s canter when I’m nervous or uncomfortable, which frustrates both of us, and it’s a really bad cycle. I hope your next ride is better! I’m sure it will be.
Heyy :) i just want to say that tightening the noseband after him chewing shouldnt be done. You want the noseband loose enought for them to chew and lick while riding because its actually a sight of suppleness and relaxation. Restricting that with a too tight noseband is pretty uncomfortable for the horse. You should alsways AT LEAST fit two of your fingers upright under the noseband ontop of their nose when closing it. Hope somebody can learn something from this :) 🫶
Yes of course….. I wasn’t tightening it all the way I just left it really loose so he could eat and then tightened it to the two fingers. This is one of the first things I learned :) my trainer taught me well!
Honestly I feel you, as every horse is different, every rider is different, every lesson is different. And i think the bad lessons are the ones that teach u most!💕Great job Clara🫶
I also sometimes ride a stubborn horse who is strong on the reins too, my lesson instructor tells me to use my legs more so than the reins and it helps, and I somewhat “neck rein” too, that’s what helps me a lot too, though I always have sore legs after I ride him though , though all horses are different and Rolo might not answer to that either, I just thought it would be an idea as I struggle riding a stubborn horse too, I’ve fallen off that horse too so whenever I jump it helps me when I stare over the jump, I don’t even try to look even though my eyes get the best of me but when I don’t look at the jump, maybe when cantering the pole, maybe stare at some point of the wall that you can’t see the pole with, I just thought I’d share some advice as I have some confidence issues whenever I ride that specific horse so I sympathize with your hesitation when cantering the pole, I hope this somewhat helps, you could be doing this already and I’m just not noticing too lol, but I try to just not focus on whatever is making me nervous which is hard, so just try to find a place on the wall and stare at it and just let Rolo do his thing, obviously try to steer if he seems to be going away from the pole, but I’d thought I’d share this, I hope this helps, even if it is somewhat!
This video helped me a lot bc I had a lesson the other day and it took me almost the whole lesson to finally get on and I was getting so frustrated and had a few panic attacks but in general was js so mad at myself and I've lost all my confidence. But I'm just trying to hope it will all be ok and i know it will be for you! also, as a side note with my opinion the one lady was getting mad toned at you when you were getting frustrated should not have handled that situation as she did. eyes, maybe you needed to fix a few things but that was not the way to tell you that. anyway!! again another amazing video! i look up to you so much and enjoy watching your videos! sorry this is so long
hii! i love watching all your videos that notifications when you post i get so excited, i am an equestrian myself and i understand every thing you go through haha dont worry girly!! yyou rode so beautifully never give up!!!
i love how you show even your difficult rides! everyone has tough days and it’s so refreshing to see someone actually show case them for other to see! 🤍
Hang in there I had a not so great lesson today as I was trying to be more confident at the trot because wiggle the lesson horse I was riding today we did a lot of circles but then I kind of put my leg back I was trotting fast and I got scared and we cantering for the first time I stayed on but then I fell off some rides are not going to be good but is part of learning! 😢😅
I go to Meadow Lark stables and yesterday I got the horse named Titan. He’s the exact same lik rolo I think that’s what he is. He was the exact same high exact same color and he was just so still so I get it why you love it
Ur doing amazing but also with the girth u don’t put it on the middle one but we all have bad riding days u have to struggle to learn ur doing amazing and I love ur vids so much xx
At my barn we have a huge arena And we Split it, one side for The horses, The other for The ponies. Im riding The ponies And its funny to see The ponies Zooming And The horses moving majestically. 😂
why are the hands so highhh im not hating but its ok I do that by accident sometimes too lol its ok to be angry i was leasing a horse and he was frustrating me so much the owner of the brn told me to end the lease because she saw how angry and damaged i was form the lease.
It’s the hard lessons that teach us the most🤍 btw, if you ever get the chance to try saddleseat, you totally should! I personally think you’d be really good at it and enjoy it! The horses are fast and fun! Love your vids
First! Pin? Ur such a good rider! Improving sm! I’ve been here since the beginning!
Of course! And aw thank you so much 🥹🫶🏻
