- The original Revlon ColorStay Foundation was highly regarded in the early days of beauty UA-cam, so when I saw they made a new formula I knew I was going to have to test it out (even if it wasn't made for my skin lol). CASSIE 😁 I HOPE YOU SEE THIS. ELF has a newer product called the "Pore Minimizing Oil Control Serum" and it is INCREDIBLE for oily skin. It's not a primer so you can put it on before your moisturizer and I really hope you get a chance to try it 😁

Cassy, I'm more and more convinced that you have dehydrated skin, oily and all. You glow with more hydrating foundations, IMO 😊
I can assure you: my skin is NOT dehydrated.... I use serums and moisturizers 2x/day to make sure I'm moisturized, I just truly do have oily skin, always have even when I was young 😅
Thrift Thick you can still be dehydrated even using a lot of hydrators- if you have any flakiness or if your skin feels tight after showering, etc. you may have surface dehydration. It’s usually due to using drying products and not drinking enough water, but medications, etc can cause surface dehydration as well. You can be oily and have surface dehydration simultaneously. Not saying I agree that you do have this (you know your skin better than we do), but just wanted to put that out there

@@thriftthick Din't mean to disrespect you... I just happen to have had oily (more of a combo-ish) skin almost my whole life, and it was also dehydrated! It didn't change until I found the right type moisturizer for my skin, and my beloved chemical exfoliators!
@@thriftthick You should try out the Purlisse Watermelon moisturizing aqua balm. It's oil-free. A game changer for oily skin people.
When I was 20 it was my favorite foundation and it didn’t move after you applied it I’m 46 now so that’s a oldie but goodie. I hope I like the new one.
I didn't know there was an original to this foundation. But I got this Light Cover Foundation when it first launched and it is STUNNING! I have EXTREMELY dry/mature skin and it looks FLAWLESS on my skin. That being said, I have heard people rave about this foundation and feel like people with all skin types love this. The only thing I don't love is the shade range. I'm normally the fairest of the fair in foundation shades and I think I have like the 3-5th color in this line and it works PERFECTLY for me.

@@ashl3yk3lly20 no problem sweet girl. I absolutely LOVE this foundation. I think it looks GORGEOUS on the skin. I am very fair skinned. I normally wear a MAC NC10-15 and Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation in 1C1 Cool Bone, and I purchased the shade 210 Créme Brulee in the Revlon foundation and it's spot on!
Maybe it is super moisturizing, and therefore your skin didn't try to compensate dryness by producing more oil??

Just a loving tip, if you shave & exfoliate before trying a foundation, it makes SUCH a difference! I shave my face in the shower & then exfoliate with a silicone scrubbie I got at $tree actually & my morning burst face wash & those are my BEST foundation days👍🏻
i apply it with my fingers, in a stippling motion- it looks like skin for me when i do that.
Revlon colorstay is the only foundation I've really used other than a bit of CYO... get it at Target!! It's like $9 there AND in the newspaper there's sometimes a coupon for like $3 or $4 off of Revlon Face Products?? So I usually get it for like.... $6... hype. So I'm interested in this especially if it has more sunscreen strength.
I’d agree with your review. I got this a little while back and I think it would work well if you use a dewy spf cause it felt too matte and drying with my mineral sunscreen that goes somewhat matte. I also think it doesn’t need to be set with power (or use just a very little bit in key areas) cause it increased the dryness.

Cassie, many many brands that have these type of foundations do not have an extensive shade range especially drugstore brands. This is because they're meant to be LIGHT coverage so one shade would suit several skin tones. Even Fenty's skin tint only has 24 shades compared to their normal 49 shades in their other foundations. Also, applying it directly to your face from the bottle is so unsanitary. You should be putting about a dime size amount on the back of your hand (clean hands) and apply it from there. As for blend-ability, these type of foundations dry faster so apply it to one area of your face at a time. I've bought this foundation but haven't tried it yet. The sunscreen in it appeals to me a lot. Sunscreen is an anti-aging ingredient. I wish I had applied sunscreen everyday when I was your age. Appreciate the review!
Oh my gosh my sister and I were just talking about Colorstay. I didn't know they had a new formula! So glad you are testing it! Questions... back in the day I used the colorstay powder with my foundation. It definitely helped the staying power. Have you considered that combo?

Cassie try tranexamic acid from inkey list for the dark spots, its really fades them out! Works magic on my acne spots!
I went with that shade based on the bottle color too and.. it was way too light for me😣😂 and I’m usually a light medium
I bought this foundation and have been loving it its a bit tricky to apply though. For me the best way I've found to apply it is the rub it in between your fingers then pat it on almost like skincare. Trying to spread it at all made it look not the best.

Hey Cassie, thanks for another review! Curious to try this one. Just had a thought - would you consider doing a check in in the middle of the day as well? I rarely wear a foundation for a full day, so I am always curious how the foundation looks after 5-6 hours instead of 10-11.

Could you do that in magic foundation that goes on white and then magically just adjust to your skin tone? I've never seen anybody do that except for on the commercial.
For some reason I didn't like the regular Colorstay foundation. I should try it again. For some reason my skin has been looking really good. Foundations that did not look good before have been looking beautiful on me.

You’re such a kind and gentle spirit...you have no idea how much you & your videos keep me company...you’re a friend I can always rely on 💞💞 I don’t really wear foundation...I don’t see the point LOL I too have oily skin and I too sweat so we definitely have that in common. I always wear mascara well when I leave the house and overall I like any makeup more in the fall & winter!!

I love that gold eyeliner on your eyes! Your eyes are so pretty no matter what but I love that liner. I wanna give this foundation a try. Have you ever tried the Covergirl matte bb cream? I like it pretty good for us oily girls. It’s been around forever, still a staple for me!

I have oily skin and this drugstore foundation without primer stays matte on me longer than any other foundation or foundation & primer combo at any price point. I don't know how it does it!

I think your makeup looks nice. The shade could be a little darker, but still looks natural. Maybe you can mix a little of darker color of another makeup to get a blended shade. I've tried the Revlon colorstay for oily skin and the original one... the original ones is too oily for me... I guess this one would be the same
can anyone tell me what the sunscreen ingredients are? i can't find that in any ingredient list.
I love the original Colorstay but these shades are sad and confusing. I ordered this foundation because it seemed like it could be similar to my beloved but discontinued Urban Decay Naked Skin. I still haven’t tried it yet but I’m holding out hope. 🤞

Thank you for reviewing this, I don’t think this one looks that great. Considering is supposed to be light cover it looks heavy. It’s weird how some of these light cover foundations end up looking heavy.

They get away with only 12 shades by claiming it's sort of a "tint". 🤦🏼♀️
They don’t really call it a tint to not have to have more shades- if coverage is light enough, more skin tones can use each shade, so having a ton of shades is unnecessary
