What a beautiful stack of cards you have. So inspiring. I think I'm going to die-cut a few of my numbers for variety. I've been neglecting it for awhile...I threw some clay in HS...it was wonderful.
Ceri-loved to hear about your interest in learning pottery. The next time you feel like jumping across the pond, consider a jaunt to my area in North Carolina. We have many many potters and places devoted to teaching the art. BTW, i have just finished putting gel print backgrounds on 15 of my 31 postcards for the challenge :). I thank you Ceri for pulling my out of my creative slump -i hadn’t been able to do anything in the art studio for over 5 months and now I feel renewed and its full steam ahead1
You were talking about excitement. Sounds like the Gely Postcard Play has many already excited and playing. I’m actually happy to have something to look forward to. Seems like sometimes I find myself faltering and not doing anything. Thanks for sharing. Loving the stencil holders. My husband has been a ceramic artist all his life (he’ll be 75). But he made his living working in cabinet shops. I never could get throwing on the wheel. That’s a talent you have or don’t.
Those are just great. I find it funny that I thought some of them were fine, when you did the addition of the stencils they just come to life. Experience and practice makes the difference I think..
@Ceri Griffiths Hello from Vancouver 😊.. 'Hope you're having a wondeful day 😊 Love your design ideas, Ceri❣ ..and i enjoyed watchin' your video.. Do you sell what you made on here in etsy?
@@CeriGriffiths Happy Sunday❣ Thank you for letting me know, Ceri. I'll attempt to make some gely-postcards myself since you inspired me 😊 I will definitely check out your digital collection in etsy.
Hello dear Ceri, wow, I so love your cards, all beautiful, all with different personalities. I so enjoy watching you create on the Gelli plate. Thank you so much for the conversation, and for talking about how you started with pm artist studio. Have a blessed rest of your day ❤❤
Ceri, hi good day to you and everyone. I did a tag challenge for a tag a day. I put them in the project "Accordion Style Stencil Storage" that you and Darcy Sanders made. It worked perfectly for the tags! You might want to consider it for your post cards? Just a reminder idea to share ...🎉❤ hugs.
Hi Ceri. You made me think that a mask/stencil or foam stamps of Roman numerals would be good to have. Sized to work on this 4×6 size. 😁 Your cards turned out very interesting. TFS Hope you have a great day. 🌞
Hi Ceri, thank you for a bumper video on making gel prints come to life. A fabulous selection of postcards, you always inspire me to put down the duster and go to the den and play. 😊
This was a great day's work! You have driven me, to pull out, my gel plate, which has never been used. That's incredible... Thank you, Ceri. (Greensboro, NC, USA)
Such a great assortment of backgrounds! I love that you have a few that are not just gel prints. I saw pattern paper, text, embossing, ledger, etc. I wish I had thought of that. I may swap out a few of my own with other types of paper and put gel prints over it. Anyway, So happy to see the dragon made it to the group. 💕 Thank you for starting us all on this postcard journey!
I totally feel the 'You have a good vocabulary, Use it" mentality. My family had a interesting version of grounding. We had to copy the dictionary (The kids under 8 had to copy a my first dictionary) older than 8 was a webster. it was usually just one letter, but because of this i have a fantastic vocabulary (both from my own punishments and from reading over my siblings to make sure theirs were 'correct') Now, if i use like, ummm or any filler word i cringe because i know 5 other words that would have worked better right there.
If this is for #GelyPostcardPlay there are no prompts, the only rules are a 6”x4” postcard, number on front to represent the day of the month, something created on a gel plate or a digital of one (gel print does not need to fe the focal point).
thank you, Ceri for your preparations for making your challenge. You need to make copies of these when finished for sale. I know you have limited time, but it is so wondrous to be able to have copies of your work. I am enamored with your projects and would love to send a friend a copy of one of your gel plate prints on a postcard. I am always telling them about your gel plating . I also watch pm studios. Thanks to you.
Love that forest floor stencil on the smaller plate! I’ll have to try that! It’s motivating watching how you use just portions of stencils to create an effect rather than the entire design!
Oh you are so talented. Your eye for the right colors always amazes me. I'm so excited to see what everyone does. I've been watching a lot of prep ones . ❤
I really enjoyed watching you working with your postcards. I don't always agree with your color choices but you seem to have a better eye than I do because they mostly turn out pretty good. Goes back to the old saying if we all like the same thing it would be a boring world. I also enjoyed the account of your making stencils and finding a company that would allow you to do that, and in my native state. Very much looking forward to seeing what you do next with these postcards. BTW twice I was offered 25-minute ads during this video.
Thank you, I have no idea how the long adds are being added to my videos. I choose the option for a skippable add at the beginning and the end of my videos, sometime I add a middle add if the video is long, but I swear UA-cam has a mind of its own.
Hi Ceri! Gel plate storage question: I've seen people put tissue on their pates when not in use. Can this be done with gift tissue, or will it stick horribly? I don't have wet strength. Should I use printer paper instead? Or do you have a better recommendation for how to store plates? Thanks! Also, love the cards so far!
PMArtistStudio has recommended putting a sheet of printer/copy paper on the gel plate for storage to protect it against dings. Using the plastic packaging sheet can result in bubbles on the plate.
Shannon, I’d avoid gift wrap tissue for storage as it could stick. I use cheap copy paper, if the paper starts to get creased over time change it as those creases could mark your plate.
What a beautiful stack of cards you have. So inspiring. I think I'm going to die-cut a few of my numbers for variety. I've been neglecting it for awhile...I threw some clay in HS...it was wonderful.
Lots of beautiful combinations, ❤Ceri.

Oh that’s fantastic, so happy you’ve found your art again. Thank you for the heads up.

Really like the way these are headed. I think that subtle pale blue one is my favorite thus far. Looking forward to your next process with them!

Not really, I do have an Etsy shop with a few digitals in but I’ve not added to it for a long time and I’m very disenchanted with Etsy.

Ceri, you have inspired me to give the gelli plate a go! Definitely out of my comfort zone, but I’m going to do it! Thank you! ❤
So interested in this #! Great play with these tools I don’t usually use. This will help get me going! Thank you!
Awesome video Ceri! I learned a lot today. Now I just need to jump in with my new gelli plate for the first time.
Wonderful video! So interesting to hear your stories. I love that you tell us what you are thinking when adding this or that!
I love her she's just so wonderful one of the first jelly Plate artist I've ever seen artist I've my phone doesn't want to listen to me ever
I had the thought for the use of the postcards is a frame with picture corners and you change the postcard each day.

Rhonda I’m hoping can work with the dragon and make it a feature. Thank you
I'm prepping my postcards while watching you do yours! I'm kicking around the idea of an accordion style journal to hold my finished cards.
That's a great idea

Fascinating, an interest educational tool.
For me, UA-cam is my TV. Agree. 100%
Another great video! Thank you. 😊
So glad on the one postcard you changed the perspective from maggots to croissants! 🤣🤣🤣

I purchased my Knox gelatin this weekend. Going to make my own gel plates later today. Then the fun begins
I’ve never done that myself so let us know how it turned out. Good luck.
Help, please. I've looked and looked and cannot find the calendar of prompts. 😢 Will someone please direct me to where I may find it? Thanks!

Glad it was helpful
oooh I only found theses challenge today so I have to make one for today then get moving. Thanks for the inspiration!
Have fun Jan, no stress
Oh Ceri, the pattern that the sun through window leaves could be an interesting stencil inspiration.
It could Cathy
I love Froyle’s work!
love the beginnings!
Love it
Love your process & your artistic perspective...they turned out beautifully!! 💙🤗
Does Cery think it’s only blokes that watch this channel? He talks to the guys a lot but never to the women 😮
lol…..I call everyone guys, male, female or undecided, it’s just easier than saying hello to each group.
Ha ha… “guys” is a generic term that’s not gender specific!!
Beautiful post cards. What an exciting journey. ❤❤❤
I am now motivated to get in gear and work on my Geli Postcards! Thanks for the challenge and inspiration!! 😊
Ceri, so happy that the Gelypostcard has taken off, I really enjoying too. Thnaks for shairng.
I have my postcards half done😂 love to see you doing them. Thank you Ceri❤

Is there going to be a prompt list?
No it’s entirely up to your imagination .

Phoenix up that peacock card all you want! ❤
Thanks Ceri really enjoyed that video.Look forward to the next one.👍
So do we have to post on UA-cam? Or can we post on facebook ?
You can post on anywhere you like
If you’re a member of the Makers of Mixed Media Art and Artists, it would be great to post your cards there!
god work! Thanks for taking us along. 😀
