Yay a sewing video, in my family everyone calls me a grandma because I sew and I don't do what other 13 year olds do, great video and nice job on both dresses, absolutely loved the video.
Your video is well done. Your hand sewing is lovely. I hope a young girl will start hand sewing from your video, this skill will serve her well over her years of sewing. Thanks for sharing your ideas. Many of us can sew, but making patterns is another talent.
Oh my goodness! This is so cute! I will totally be making a few of these for my dolls. I love the style and the way the dresses fit. Thanks so much for sharing!! :)
great job, this is a project my granddaughter can do, she likes to make clothes for her AG doll.. You did a nice, clear, and visual instructions for all to do. thanks for sharing
Amazing! I wish I could sew! But I will be trying this one with the hand sew method. I love that you give more than one option in your tutorials. Hugs my friend!
Be chic forever, you are so smart, I love your pattern. My mother or I never used them though we just cut and sew but your pattern is so simply design. Good work, keep it up.
sorry, but this didn't fit my granddaughters american girl doll. It wouldn't go over her head nor was she able to pull up. Luckily she had another smaller doll that it fit perfectly...just needed to hem. Are there different size ag dolls?
Same issue; was very disappointed. Had to improvise something much less cute to bring it together in the back. Made me wonder if we were supposed to add a seam allowance around the pattern, but I thought the video said it was included in the pattern?
I’m just learning and this pattern is great for me. You mentioned it is based on the American Girl, which is 18” doll- right? Will this pattern work for a 16”? With or without alteration? 0:19
Thank you for the free pattern and tutorial! The pattern is simple and easy to follow. However, when I get to the sleeves, I can't figure it out! I've re-watched the sleeve directions so many times. I think I'm going to hem the sleeves with binding. lol
Agreed, this was the point where more detail would have been so helpful. It didn't help that the hands and work were out of the frame during part of this section. It seems a very awkward technique even though I have decade of sewing experience but not at this tiny scale. I fear without clearer instructions here it could put off many sewers entirely.
I am having the same problem however i cut the dress out and realized i need a serger .. i dont have one i need the nice finish so will have to try to do some figuring .. uggg
Linda Chretien Thank you! My machine is old but it's my very sentimental belonging. We had it since I was small, It's been with me through all of my life's milestones ...
If doing the first way (without a bodice), I'm thinking you could edge serge the armholes and neckline, then fold it under and top stitch (with a few clips) Wouldn't this be quick?
Bé Chic Forever I'm going to try now that I have Mirai and shopping clothes for her is too expensive. By any chance do you know how to make doll dress form?
thank you for sharing youre cute pattern with us i love this tutorial wonderful i bought my daughters both a 18" doll the love them i bought my self one as well know i get to make them dresses thank you
Yes, I agree with everyone, I love this pattern it is easy and fun. PS I sew the arms and ect., and turn it around and it is much better this way and no problems.:) Thank you
You could also try using bias tape. I some times do that too. It really depends on size of the doll. For Wellwishers and Disney animator doll I normally use facing and for the American girl dolls I use bias tape a lot.
is anyone else having trouble following instructions for sewing the armhole? I have watched video over and over, and over, and just cannot figure it out! guess I' just have to hand sew. Is there another video with better instructions on armholes?
Dolly H. Sorry I should have shown the easier way. The other way is to sew the shoulder seam of the self and facing first. Then sew the armhole. Leave the side seam sewing step after.
please show us I want no sew option as well as please show us disney characters dress makibg too. my dolls like princess belle and snow white anf Cinderelka ball dress
I love this dress although there is an easier way for you to stitch the arms around by stitch the part first in the shoulder seem then do the second one put them good side to good side this way not inly you can stitch the neckline but also you will have a clean finish on the arms and the you can match the side and stitch. Im pretty sure you will get my point bcos you seem like a professional sewer bcos of you sewing machine.
Thank you I have saved this video because I love watching you hand sew and then machine sew, but the only criticism I have is the music, please you don’t need it.
The fabrics are pretty but the dresses are way too short and the bows way too large. Doesn't look professional.Would you go out in public with a dress almost up to your hips and a bow on your chest as wide as your body?
I’ll give that a try but I prefer a more finished edge especially for the back of the gown but I think I’m just gonna cut the pattern a little bit bigger and give myself the same allowance
Dolls for Ever Just practice on a piece of fabric to get used to it's momentum. Straight stitch line first then try the curvy stitch lines and back stitch.

Welcome to your tribe. A lot of started out as kids, even younger, in a time where we didn't have a collective space.
Thank you, I love this pattern, I have made it a few times now and can' t have enough of it. Thank you for sharing it means a lot to me.
Love seeing her do the stitches without a sewing machine. Great video.

Thanks for sharing this video ... my twins are 11 and finally a video and patterns for them.....Omg!!!!!! I'm so happy right now .....
Thank you for the darling pattern! Your instructions are fabulous 😻

AGPinkyLee Thank you my friend!
This is really nice! I will probably make it for my doll. It seems to be easy to make. Great job!
Be chic forever, you are so smart, I love your pattern. My mother or I never used them though we just cut and sew but your pattern is so simply design. Good work, keep it up.
AG fun creation with Zahra Thank you!
I love your video and dress pattern thankyou very much
I make rag dolls and this dress would look great on my dolls😊
These are so clever and cute! I just discovered your channel and I love your style! You have a new subscriber! :)
Sami Says AG Thank you! I subscribed to your channel not so long ago and I love all of your room set ups.
Thank you so much, I love doing it, it's nice to find someone else who enjoys doing the same! :)
sorry, but this didn't fit my granddaughters american girl doll. It wouldn't go over her head nor was she able to pull up. Luckily she had another smaller doll that it fit perfectly...just needed to hem. Are there different size ag dolls?
Dolly H. This pattern is really fitted. For older dolls it might be too tight ( Older dolls are Pleasant Company production)
Same issue; was very disappointed. Had to improvise something much less cute to bring it together in the back. Made me wonder if we were supposed to add a seam allowance around the pattern, but I thought the video said it was included in the pattern?
This is amazing! I can make a couple of these real quick in time for Christmas for my Granddaughter’s dolls. Thank you.
Just subscribed 💝💐
Thank you! The fit is a bit snug, you can adjust the pattern to be a bit wider.
Adorable dolls and adorable dresses :D
I made one for my doll! thank you so much for making a tutorial!!!!!!

can you show us how to make a romper for an 18" doll please?
Dora Gomer Will add it in my sewing tutorial list 😊
Bé Chic Forever 🤗
thank you for this, cannot wait to make a few, love your machine by the way...
Linda Chretien Thank you! My machine is old but it's my very sentimental belonging. We had it since I was small,

thank you for sharing, nice work!!!
Love this tutorial and I seriously need to learn how to use a sewing machine. 😍😍😍
Saige Smith I am sure you can do it...😊
Bé Chic Forever I'm going to try now that I have Mirai and shopping clothes for her is too expensive. By any chance do you know how to make doll dress form?
Saige Smith I will do a series for her too, and I should start with a DIY dress form....soon..soon :)
Thank you so much, my granddaughters the u.k. will love these dresses
Wow! I found that arm hole difficult. Is there a way to use the burrito roll method on this?
I am confused tho how your sewing on the machine the armholes to the interfacing
Thank you for the tutorial. I cut the two other pieces (small pieces) and ended up not using them. Do you have a pattern that I can use those with?
thank you for sharing youre cute pattern with us i love this tutorial wonderful i bought my daughters both a 18" doll the love them i bought my self one as well know i get to make them dresses thank you
This tutorial came just in time. I'm needed to do some hand sewing, as I'll be without my machine for a week. This will work out beautifully.
Thank you for the video. The explanation was very good. Where I can find the patterns?
The bow measurements are not in the description box.
I would love to also see a WellieWisher sized version of this dress, my poor Wellie doesn't have much clothing. ;)
I sew for my granddaughters Wellie, just print at 65% of the AG pattern. They fit perfect.
Hello! Can you please tell me where I can find the velcro that comes on a large roll like that? Thank you, in advance. And, thank you for sharing.
Yes, I agree with everyone, I love this pattern it is easy and fun. PS I sew the arms and ect., and turn it around and it is much better this way and no problems.:) Thank you
Also, Can you develop a pattern like this for WellieWisher sizes dolls?
Me encantan los vestidos. Tengo varias muñecas American y necesito patrones para sus vestidos y zapatos. Por favor. Soy de Costa Rica.
Could you possibly make a cropped top, but not too short .
Totally gonna make this thanks!Could you make a dress with a sweetheart neckline please!?! I have been really wanting to make that
You know the shoulder seems would be easier to sew if you sewed your side seams last. The dress is very cute.
jwild259 Yes that's right it should be easier, for a second I thought it would be hard to turn the dress inside out through that shoulder tunnel.
You could also try using bias tape. I some times do that too. It really depends on size of the doll. For Wellwishers and Disney animator doll I normally use facing and for the American girl dolls I use bias tape a lot.
yep. It is an easier way.
Where can I find the Pattern?
Love this though the armholes are intimidating for me (sort of new to this.) I think I will try it but do those by hand!
Hi, I just went on your blog to get the cut outs but it says the blog is no longer there?
I just added a new link to the blog, hope you can find it.
Cute dress
I don’t see the measurements?
Were do you get youre velcro at
Dora Gomer You can get the regular velcro at Walmart or any dollar store. The kind that I have, I bought in bulk so I ordered online.
is anyone else having trouble following instructions for sewing the armhole? I have watched video over and over, and over, and just cannot figure it out! guess I' just have to hand sew. Is there another video with better instructions on armholes?
Dolly H. Sorry I should have shown the easier way. The other way is to sew the shoulder seam of the self and facing first. Then sew the armhole. Leave the side seam sewing step after.
Dolly H. Yes I had the same trouble with the armholes very frustrating as I had already used my serger to put the seams together ugh!😟
I'm a little confused...For the Front Facing, it looks like you're sewing 2 pieces together but pattern says to cut 1
I could not get the arm holes, no matter how I tried! Tossed it out!
please show us I want no sew option as well as please show us disney characters dress makibg too. my dolls like princess belle and snow white anf Cinderelka ball dress
Really cute!
Edit: How many American girl dolls do you have??💕
Ashleigh Taylor x Thirty something 😊
I know this is 5 yrs old but just gotta say thank you for sharing !!!
Thank you!
Unable to find pattern--Help!!
So sorry, there was some changes with Google Chrome. I am out of the country now wont be back till Sept. I try to fix it when I get back
I already updated the link. Hope it works...pls let me know
Where’s the bow measurements?
I love this dress although there is an easier way for you to stitch the arms around by stitch the part first in the shoulder seem then do the second one put them good side to good side this way not inly you can stitch the neckline but also you will have a clean finish on the arms and the you can match the side and stitch. I got it thanks ;)
Super cute...it seemed as though sewing with the machine was harder...💛
Thank you 😊
Thank you I have saved this video because I love watching you hand sew and then machine sew, but the only criticism I have is the music, please you don’t need it.
Marie Rawlins Thank you for the feedback!
The fabrics are pretty but the dresses are way too short and the bows way too large. Doesn't look professional.Would you go out in public with a dress almost up to your hips and a bow on your chest as wide as your body?
Please God give me the patience to be a good seamstress so I can sew this.
Reva Nelson God told me to do a no sew tutorial next lol
It very peaceful to sew by hand, I have a sewing but some I made by hand, of course it takes a long time if you want to make something nice.
Me too! I love hand sewing even I am so bad at it.
problem is .. I cut this and not realizing I needed a serger.. oooops.. no serger here.. now what
Do you have a zig zag option on your sewing machine, you can zig zag the edge
I’ll give that a try but I prefer a more finished edge especially for the back of the gown but I think I’m just gonna cut the pattern a little bit bigger and give myself the same allowance
hey my girl
So I cut the pattern as printed, sewed the dress and guess what? It DOESN’T fit the doll! Way to small. What a joke on me.
I'm learning how to use a sewing machine, but let me tell you, I struggle😂
Dolls for Ever Just practice on a piece of fabric to get used to it's momentum. Straight stitch line first then try the curvy stitch lines and back stitch.
Dolls for Ever Have you received the package I sent u? The prize?
WARNING!!!!! This does not fit Our Generation 18" dolls from Target. Way to small.
make a pacifier
Thank you 🤗
