Wow. Hard to believe this was 20 years ago today. I think t his game represented the absolute apex of Arkansas basketball in the '90s, and certainly the apex of the AR/KY rivalry.
I was a week from turning 16 and this was super bowl Sunday...my momma let me skip church to watch this 😆😆😆...best college basketball game I've ever seen GO HOGS!!!
I remember being at this game. Pitino wouldn't come out of the locker room until game time. When he did, the Hog Wild Band played the Godfather theme for him.
I'm not a fan of either team but i vividly remember watching this game given the hype leading into it and the fact it was Super Bowl Sunday. Those early and mid 90's Razorback teams were great to watch!
Don't consider what was on the line, and this was a much better game than the championship game vs. Duke. I wish college basketball today could even slightly resemble this.
Amazing imagine both in the 1995 final four national championship game would their 3rd meeting be more intense with Arkansas winning the 1st Kentucky winning the sec tournament final in Atlanta plus Arkansas trying to repeat
woo pig sooie! fun to watch these highlights literally the day of BBN finding out Mark Pope has been named their head coach lol. Just a heads up he only scores 2 points in the highlights of this video & seemed to be a rare sighting out there.
Both of thoses teams where loaded, but none of thoses guys became all-stars in the league, Tony Delk dropped 50 as a Celtic, Corliss won a Championship with my Piston s, the others didn't make it in the league. Man that's when College basketball was loaded, Wallace/ Stack house, O'Bannon Brothers, leftovers Fab Four ect

Those were two fantastic teams. Arkansas won it all the year before in 94 and then the Cats won the title the next year in 1996.
This was far more riveting than the 49ers/Chargers blowout later that day

Back when beating Kentucky meant something. They always had a team that could beat anybody back in those days.
