  • Welcome to Part 3 of my video series on the Bushmaster ACR "Adaptive Combat Rifle" Semi Auto rifle
Join me on Patreon for additional content: / armandgun
Why I ask for support through Patreon:
I love the firearms community and am thrilled to be able to give back to it by way of producing content for it. I want to both continue my pace of content production as well as improve its quality, all while adding to its diversity (shooting for accuracy videos, destructive target testing, high speed / slow motion, etc).
Appearances aside, I am not just some rich guy with a ton of guns. I had a good job and ideal set of circumstances for a few years that allowed me to invest heavily in building up a sizeable collection. Those circumstances are changing, and now I am turning to the community to help continue to make this channel exciting and successful. Your help and support are greatly appreciated.
All funds received by UA-cam (very insignificant as firearms videos are largely demonetized) and by supporters via Patreon are to be reinvested into this channel in the following ways:
    - Purchase and import of new feature firearms/gear: Being in Canada, it is often difficult for manufacturers/distributors to send me firearms for testing and review. Instead, I often have to purchase them personally, and in some cases even import them into the country.
    - Ammunition: It takes funds to run the guns enough to be able to get a good overall impression for an accurate review.
    - Production value: I am always looking to add better camera and lighting gear to be able to improve the final product you see.
    - Range and targets: from more static steel targets, to future destructive target testing.
    - Travel to distributors/manufacturers/industry shows to get the content on the latest and greatest

This video is part of a multi-video set featuring the Bushmaster ACR "Adaptive Combat Rifle"
Part 1: Intro video to the firearm
Part 2: POV Shooting (FPS style shooting video showing the gun in action, demonstrating the controls and ergonomics of the rifle, as well as any modifications I have done to the gun)
Part 3: Disassembly and review of key internal features
Part 4: Overview of the firearm including design detail, function and features
Part 5: Outfitting your ACR as a DMR, Combat rifle, and PDW
Part 6: Shooting for Accuracy (coming at a later date)
    Part 7+: TBD
Thanks for tuning in! Lots more coming. I would appreciate your subscription as I hope to improve the level of content as the channel grows.
    Correction Section:
Hit me up in the comments or send me an email to point out anything I messed up. I will add notes here.
    Bushmaster ACR Technical Specs:
    - Calibre: .223 (5.56x45mm)
    - Operating: Locked, rotating bolt, gas piston operated
    - Modes of fire: Semi auto only
    - Magazine Capacity: 5 - 30+ (only 5 in Canada due to restrictive magazine limit laws)
    - Optic: Eotech EXPS3 + G33 Magnifier
    - Barrel Length: 267mm / 10.5"
    - Barrel Twist:
    - Overall Length (as shown) min/max: 24.875”-30.125”
    - Weight as shown:
    - Muzzle Device: AAC "BrakeOut" + "BlastOut"
The ACR is considered Non-Restricted based on barrel length, meaning that with a 18.5"+ barrel it is legal to own with a PAL and can be shot wherever it is legal to discharge firearms. The ACR as shown with a 10.5" barrel, and the Boberg XR9-L are both restricteds. The XR9, because it is a handgun and is therefore automatically restricted, and the ACR because it has a barrel shorter than 18.5". They both require a RPAL to possess and in addition to being registered in a federal database, have addition storage, transport, sale, and discharge restrictions.

You can push forward on the charging handle with the BCG all the way in to release it from the actuator.

The thumbnail part was my favourite! Would love to see you take apart the WS-MCR, its a canadian made rifle based off the AR-180 and it comes in .556 .224 and AK rounds

An aluminium lower with a barrel nut and piston rings were tried, and worked a treat in a fifteen inch barrel version....

Does your barrel wrench "click" when it's locked? Military arms channel recently did a video comparing a new manufacture bushmaster vs an old windham weaponry made one. The new one was having issues with the barrel wrench walking loose with a few shots. It's such an awesome gun, and I wish they hadn't dropped the ball with all the caliber conversions early on bc it really has a lot going. I love the g36 esque ergos, especially the bolt catch/ release. Awesome stuff.

Mine works, but none of my barrels (all made in the last two years and my latest made in 2019) have the barrel wrench the one in the MAC video did. The Windham, ME (not Windham Weaponry) guns have none of the fixes the new rifles do. Do not seek them out unless you're just interested in the marking.

Who would have thought you’d have a Boberg pistol. 😊
Maybe you need to get your hands on a Bond Arms Bullpup to go with it. 🤪

I just bought a 10.5" barrel for my ACR. What size piston / op rod do you have? My stock piston won't work with my 10.5"barrel..

Could you tell use the overal length of the op rod and how far back the tapper starts from the strike face....

Is it possible to replace the gas plug and the piston? My dad managed to literally break his off at the range last year.

Push the charging handle forward to unlock its hold on the BCG. I hold my upper down and let gravity pull the BCG into home, but closing the upper and lower can sometimes still be a struggle for me.

Since you can only get semi autos in canada, are bump stocks legal?

But how the gun work. I know that it's a short stroke gas piston operated gun. But really how? In depth elaboration

Can you show us how to remove the gas block?

  • @johnmuir8305
    @johnmuir8305 4 роки тому

Why not shotgun it open like an AR-15 then remove the stock? Way easier. You also don't need to actuate the charging handle release to remove the BCG, just make sure it's fully forward in the locked position.

This was the first acr field strip I've seen that has that button on the top rail to release the bcg. Is that a Canadian ACR thing? Here's a couple of links of field strips where there's no button on top.
