  • Being the adventure-seekers that we are, it's little surprise that we had always wanted to travel to Greenland. This incredibly remote and misunderstood island in the Arctic is known to be filled with epic landscapes, fascinating culture and mind-blowing scenery. So when the opportunity came up to go on a Greenland cruise with Quark Expeditions, we couldn't say no.
Jumping onboard their newest luxury ship, the MV Ultramarine, we spent a week travelling the southern tip of the Arctic on Quark Expeditions' Greenland Adventure: By Land, Sea and Air trip. This revolutionary itinerary was filled with all kinds of awesome experiences, such as kayaking, camping, mountain biking, hiking and zodiac cruising. And the best part was a lot of it was only possible thanks to the two helicopters on the Ultramarine, meaning we could leave the ship behind on our Greenland cruise and access parts of the country that very few, if any, people had ever been before.
Flying from Reykjavik, Iceland to Narsarsuaq, we had the chance to visit Niaqornaq, Tasermiut Fjord, Umiassat, Aappilattoq, Kangikitsoq, Hvalsey, Unartoq and even got to step foot on the Greenland Ice Sheet!
The entire cruise to Greenland with Quark Expeditions exceeded all our expectations. If you're thinking of doing a similar trip we hope our Greenland cruise review helps answer all your questions on what it's like to travel to Greenland with Quark Expeditions.

I'm going to Greenland next month. Can you tell me if you are able to change into your hiking shoes instead of wearing rubber muck boots, do you carry them in your backpack? Thanks.

As a Greenlander from the very South, we are super proud of our jagged mountain peaks!
We are called Kujataamiut, The Dwellers of The South. 😊 Kujataa means South and is pronounced Gu ya daa. 😊
