must have missed the notifications you were posting again. You shook the Covid rust off pretty well. Played the breakaways like a boss! Always fun to go shopping for new gear 🤑
Ha ha thanks man, hopefully should be pretty regular getting out there with the cooler weather and the Canadians coming back
It's a shame to hear that about your pads. Brians makes great goalie gear. If it's what your used to, I would stick with it. Unless you are wanting to try something different. Warrior had come a long way and is really listening to feedback from goalies everywhere. True, formerly Lefevre, is also another great option. New technology that most of the pros are using now. Best of luck in finding new gear that suits you. It is definitely fun trying out the newest and best stuff out on the market.
Thanks Jack! Yeah I saw a set of True pads at our local hockey shop, they looked really nice and I can’t believe how light they are. Better for my old man bones ha ha ha
@@BeerLeagueHockey I hear you brother. The older I get the slower I feel. Lighter pads certainly help. They slide much better than the older pads too. Looking forward to seeing what you get!
I guess I should be happy my leather snapped and not my hip lol. I used this paste called Ice Kreme, puts a slick coating on the sliding surfaces. Worked pretty well on those old pads.
@@BeerLeagueHockey that is true. That was a good idea to extend their life until you get a new set
Game # 2 of my Post Retirement Comeback, except my pads don't seem to agree with me. Two summers in the garage dried out the leather and the pads paid the price.
In the market for some new pads, what are you using and do you like them/would recommend them? I've always liked Brians, but I hear they all aren't made in Canada anymore.
