Been praying for everyone! Have started my baking season as I'm responding in October of 21'. I have been trying new recipes to keep from my children and family from going out, we stay home and I've made over 20 new meals they love. But this is the last one that my son loves.
Finally! I'm tired of eating this banana pudding down here in Florida, either never has enough wafers, or Bananas, or both. Even the Patti Labelle one I thought would be it, but was disappointed. You make it how my mother used to, the best way.
I tried that Patti LaBelle pudding. We both took one bite and said nah (there were literally only nine wafers in the whole pudding), ended up going back to the store for more wafers and Cool whip just to make it edible
You just ain't eating it at the right place in Florida. I never made it myself but I've had some my family made that was loaded , it's not all of Florida .

I make it this way using cooked vanilla pudding. What I do different is I don’t add the bananas because I hate them turning brown, so I add them when served.

Hello Quanisha you can refrigerate it after your done cooking it. But the longer it sits it will get thicker and not watery. Send message pic to see how it looks❤️
The pudding was the first thing to be made and set aside in the fridge for 25 minutes for it to be thick enough to lay on top of the vanilla wafers and then adding cool whip on top to even it out layer by layer this is not the way for it to be done but i guess it is a first time for everything.
I live alone, and am already doing the division... the first banana puddings I ever had were all the hot method, chilled. I think alot of the instant method but it is not the same as the hot method! Thank you for your tutorial!

After making this for decades, I use the microwave method for the pudding, still tedious because once warm, you have to check and stir every 2 minutes, BUT never burned. I like the way you stacked all of the cookies and bananas first! I usually layer like lasagna 😅. This is MUCH easier once the pudding is completed.
You are the first person I ever saw put butter in there, banana pudding ……. I hope yours don’t brown quickly because of all the metal scraping n stirring Next time use a rubber spatula 😇

You can also just use the blender than put the pudding in the refrigerator for 25 minutes until it’s thick and use cool whip That’s too must stirring.
This us the real deal....it's not instant.

You have to cook the pudding til it comes to a boil and it will be thick and ready to pour over the cookies and banana!!!!🥰🤩
