This is the best djembe UA-cam I have found for myself. I am very, very, very beginner. Cannot learn three tones at once. Don;t care if it's an authentic West African drum. Most of these videos go tooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo fast for me to learn from. So you experts out there... please have compassion for the rhythm challenged. And please make more videos that go slower in smaller steps.
Hey Ted! Thanks for the nice words. I am actually planing to do a whole series on the djembe soon. I sometime see people who teach and they forget that to be a complete beginner means you have no clue. We as teachers need to be aware of that and that new learners need time to understand the lessons sometimes in small chunks. Thanks again and good luck!
Hey Dwayne! Same sort of technique but think of it as a more condensed approach. Tones would be hit more towards the tips of your fingers. Let me know if you have more questions. - Paul.
You shouldn't be teaching anyone how to play djembe. There are three basic tones. 1.bass 2.tone 3.slap and you are holding djembe incorrectly,it should be resting on the floor between your legs.
Thanks! No! it's real. I held it with my own hands. A collection of particles someone called the Djembe. There might be fake news in the world but you'll find no fake djembes here! :)

Thank you for this video it was very simple and good for a beginner. I get mixed up not sure how to coordinate my hands
awoooha. tingling palms🎶💃
good lessons but kept wondering why you use a savanna grass land as your background relating to west africa lol
You have a good point. 🤦 Thanks for watching though :)
where is the lesson two?
Hi. Is that a 12-inch Remo drum? How do you like the drum? do you recommend it? Cheers.
it was great
Are the tones the same on the left as the right? Could a lefty play but just switch the hands?
Great....thanks
what a lovely way of teaching and a beautifull djembe , may i know the model and size of this djembe
nishant pant reno mondo 14inch
跟進日期和時間抽籤和公布呀…。
I'm confused! Is this a tone or a slap?
great lesson, thanks
Ps: screw the haters
Joe Dambra but if wrong don't screw the haters. Peace out xx
Any lessons for small djembe?
I'm getting a weird echoey ringing sound, not that nice flat resonance. Is there any way to fix that? I have a Remo drum. It's driving me NUTS.
Play Cajon What if you have a smaller djembe? Any tips on how to play that type of instrument? Thanks!

Play Cajon Thanks! It will be helpful! Cheers!
thanks!
hey i just bought that exact drum from a fellow in Bellingham, now i have to learn to play, what fun....
Remo djembes, goes expensive up to 700e, yet sounds like the cheapest bucket
hey, nice video, do the tips of the fingers touch the drum at all when you do the slap (when they rebounce)?
Hi, where is Lesson 2?
That "slap" is actually a tone.
And that annoying ring, ring, ring overtone is typical of fiberglass drums.
Lesson 2 and above??????????

Who’s being made to watch this by there music teacher

The world is flat. I tell thee! :)
I thought the hole in the bottom of the drum is there to allow the sound to come out. It's muffled if you have it sitting on the ground??
i think yu dont understand english , he has first taught how to hold it between your leg and then proceed . dont criticize others without listening
you are not hold g the dejembe correctly and that's a fake dejembe

@@playcajon he mean's it is not from west africa, so yes, it is fake. it is a replica, aka fake.
Its not authentic and real djembe don't sound like this.
Exactly.
That bass tone is terrible. There's no resonance. I'm not criticizing you playing. It's that bass tone. Terrible. And I just bought one of these.
