    ATH m50s have such an important place in my heart, the first and best headphones I ever had other than shitty skullcandys. It was getting to be my 11th or 12th birthday and I told my dad there is only one thing I wanted for my birthday, it was the OG ath m50s. He looked them up and got back to me flattering them company Audio Technica since when he was younger and in bands they used the brand very often. Last year I lost my m50s in a house fire but I know damn well they would still be working flawlessly. I’ll never forget plugging them into my old school audio receiver for the first HI-FI listen. It was life changing.

      Had a similar experience with them, not the house fire though, I'm sorry that happened. For me my dad used to have turntables and a little home radio studio. So when I mentioned I got Audio Technica headphones he started talking about the company being a legend in the hi-fi world. I posted a review with this story on their website and they came back to me with "We're so glad to hear that you're a big fan of our products and how this also has been passed down from your Dad who also enjoys our hifi products! We're grateful for your loyalty!" I think there are a lot of similar stories to ours and I hope their products do continue to get passed down, cause they're awesome.

    Hey bro, great video. I do mixing and recording as well and I use my original wired M50x. Most of these videos on m50xbt2 talk about the bluetooth sound quality. My question is, how’s the sound quality when wired? Are they the same as the m50x when monitoring and mixing? Or is there a slight degrade in wired sound quality. In the future, I want to get these headphones on the condition that it doesn’t sacrifice the wired sound quality. Thanks!

    I have a pair of LE ATH-M50xBT and LE ATH-M50xBT2. I love them both, but for some reason the BT2 just will NOT work with my Sennheister BT100 Transmitter.
    It connects and then disconnects. The only way I can make them work, is to connect my BT's, then connect my BT2's, then I can turn off my BT's and it will keep the connection.
    Such a weird bug. They work fine on my PC and my Phone though.

    Hi sir from Quebec city in Canada !!!
    First: your video is excellent !!! Your explication are good. This is, by far the best video for the audio technica 50bt2.
    I have a question for you: i have the xm4 from Sony. I love them. But i tried them for the gym… shit they always falled off !! So, i want headphones for the gym. Each times i go to best buy, the 50bt2 look at me and said: take us with youuuu !!!
    But i am wondering if they do a great job in the gym because they don’t have ANC.
    Did you tried the xm4, if yes, do you believe that x50bt2 sounds better than the xm4 Sony?
    Thank you sir !!!

They are rly good for watching movies in my opinion, but if you are a pro gamer I recommend using a surround headset so you can hear people around you more easily, but the ath 50's is still solid to game with based on quality and experience.

    I'm definitely kinda late to this video, but I'd love if you could answer a question for me dude.
    I'm looking to upgrade my headphones from the Logitech G935s, primarily for streaming, but I also make music, want some high quality audio in general, etc etc.
    These seem like a shoe-in for all that! But I've found it super hard to find any info on how monitoring works with them.
    I always struggle to regulate my volume if I can't hear my own voice in my headset, and with the G935s, I simply ran a 3.5mm from the headset to my mic, which gave me a solid monitor, whilst remaining connected to my PC via Bluetooth.
    So, can I link them to my AT2020+ (the usb one) with a 3.5 mm cable, so that my voice from my mic comes through the headset, whilst still playing audio from my PC via the Bluetooth connection?
    Or to say it another way, can I utilize monitoring on these headphones without an interface, and only through a 3.5mm connected usb mic? 😅
    I know this is confusingly phrased, I hope you get what I mean haha 😂

    How do these new BT2 sound compared to the ones before it? I have the m50x and m50xbt. Going from the originals to the BT I thought the originals were more detailed and less bass heavy...yes corded of course. Bluetooth can't compare to wired as some sound is lost in the transfer of bits.

    • @Sasha_May

      And it shouldn't. Any pad that differs in thickness and size from the original ones just ruins the frequency response of this headphone.

      @Siberius- 2 роки тому

      @@Sasha_May - I imagine you are correct. I don't know if they could tweak the sound around that though. Sure can get uncomfortable after a while (subjective dependant on variables).

    • @Sasha_May
      @Sasha_May 2 роки тому +1

      @@Siberius- Yeah my ears were getting sore during the first couple of months using these for long listening/working sessions. After a while my ears eventually got used to them and now these are the most comfortable headphones for me on the go and in the studio. I experimented with a dozen of different pads for these but no, only the original form factor will do. I sometimes order Chinese ones from eBay or Ali - those can be slightly softer and have different colors. Just need to be sure that the form factor is absolutely the same as the original. Every bit and every stitch must match the original. That's absolutely critical.

    • @Siberius-
      @Siberius- 2 роки тому

      @@Sasha_May - I do like the idea of the ears just getting used to it. I changed them out to some thicker pads a while ago, despite people saying about these very pads ruin the sound and make them horrible. I tried it and I clearly just don't have a trained enough ear to tell the difference whatsoever (the best comparison I could do was to try with each side having a different pad, and alternating).
      I really need to make more time for music and activities that can incorporate music, because I haven't used headphones in a good while.
      When I do, I think I'll go back to the thinner pads, clearly the sound is going to be better and more optimised for those pads, even if I can't tell in my particular test, I imagine my listening experience when properly using the headphones (both sides on ears and with same pads) is going to be better/more enjoyable, and more accurate to what the music is generally intended to sound like.

    It's sad to me, I hate everything like EVERYTHING about the m50s headband
    It's over designed garbage too big the headband itself it too wide too it makes it so much heavier, and the headband isn't a slimmed headband like the sony XM4s
    No ANC? WTF
    they look so goddam clumsy especially when I wear my first version M50xBT
    Why couldn't they just have made it have the headband of a redesign of the m30 and m40
    I loved audio technica back in the day tho.... but they need to get their sh! Back in today's program,
    they need to consumer-ify these goddam headphones
    I love my m30s for absolutely how thin they are and comfortable to sleep with, legit buy some and compare to the m50s how thin the driver cups are, and the headband is so narrow fitting and looks so better over the over head shaped m50s, the m50s make me look like a F-ing clown
    I can even modify a cheap bluetooth adapter into my m30s and the driver cups are STILL THINNER :/
    Why cant you make them more consumer friendly and add ANC
    honestly this is tbe biggest letdown by audio technica
    And btw the headphone market has legitimately changed so much since years ago, I bet theres so many much sony headphones now that are bluetooth that could wipe these feature wise, I mean I hate the xm4s for having megaman hearcups being to thick and cant sleep with them, but jeez especially on amazon theres so many more cheaper alternatives to these like feature packed bombers of great headphones, wish audio technica could step the game up. For my FAVOURITE audio Japanese audio brand, I'm even more let down by them, I thought Japanese brands always found ways go be ahead of the game! Like SONY WITH THE XM4s :/ mega not hype for these
