@@gearupaaron Hey Gearupaaron, I appreciate your reply! My selection of headsets was a bit dismeasured in terms of price due to my needs. I own a studio where I'm producing, recording, and also playing guitar/synth/piano/drums. The real deal to me was to find an everyday headset that I could wear for hours straight and having the best sound quality + comfort while I'm in the studio or not. So obviously, I ended up buying the MX50BT2 for It's loyal quality sound and comfort + the Bluetooth option (which I'm not a fan of for any studio headset). But, buying them was the best move overall and also in price! My selection was : 1. V-Moda Crossfade 2 (wireless). 2. AKG K371BT (wireless). 3. Sennheiser Momentum 3 (wireless).
Thank you so much for this review! Im a IT desk side support and i normally have calls while walking around the site with my laptop and these headphones sounds perfect for it
The reason I love the original M50X are for things that are hard to review for. They're robust. I only carry one pair of headphone with me everywhere. On the plane, at work, on the bus, on the train. When I go to a friends house, tossed in my purse, on the bed, on the desk, for my PC, for my consoles, etc etc. They're workhorses. They can fall on the floor. They can twist and turn and even be sat on, and they won't snap, break, shatter, crack, crackle. Everything is modular (except the headband, but there are new pu leather replacements by Soulwit now) and it just lasts forever. The only downside to me is the big flashy logo at the top, wish they went with a recessed black logo like they do on their Limited Edition models.
The range and battery life on these things is just sick. I live in a 1700 sqft home with heavy plaster walls. Very little issues being too far from phone or Switch.
@@darkmist6169 no I don't find the treble too high atall, however the nice thing about these headphones is that they come with an EQ app, so you can complete customise the EQ to your preference
Received these M50x BT2 a few days ago and out of the box the sound quality is excellent. They definitely exceeded my expectation for the price and I've not even bedded them in yet. What would be a considerable upgrade in sound quality for Trance music on these (I don't need Bluetooth necessarily).
Just paid $225 for the Sea Green version. The button placement is silly hard to get used to. Not sure if you know the technical knowhow but figured I'd ask about it anyway. 8:50 How in the heck did you toggle on and off the noise isolation without touching anything? What wizardry is this? On PC, the noise cancellation for the mic isn't working. I thought the button at the top was to enable that feature, but that isn't doing anything.
Lol, it looks like magic, but phonecall noise suppression is always on - in the video it's just the switching between the camera and the headphones that you're hearing.

Good video that is very informative and helpful to quickly get started using ATH-M50XBT2 headphones. These are great sounding mid-level headphones. Battery life is great with not much time to charge to work. Love the leather storage pocket that I use to store cords and insulate headphones in storage case. The App equalizer is a plus. Pretty strange, I have very different experience ... and I am just returning them to amazon. my cons: not very comfortable for ears especially when longer in use, so strange to hear compliments for that in your video, but maybe depends on a person an reference of comfort (I have old Sennheiser HDR140 wireless) bass doesn't sound to me clear - but one can used to it, overall sound is still good too short cables included - well, can be replaced soft pouch not protecting too much when packed into travel luggage. it would be nice something rigid but the main cons which actually are deal breakers for me: every single business team call got lots of annoying cracks/pops/clicks during connection - something never experienced with 3 times cheaper Creative Zen in flat with rooms situation (walls) again not really able to match even Creative Zen :( used with smart monitor in one room it happens to lose connection even with such small distance overall experience with bluetooth implementation in those headphones very bad, unfortunately
@@gearupaaron Well. hard to say, I didn't make any new chance for this model. I picked SONY WHXB910N. And 'suddenly' all issues during business teams calls disappeared (Creative Zen also never issues with pops/cracks during bcalls). I must say WHXB910N has absolutely impressive ANC for such price class. Didn't expected it too be so good. About sound quality, well, it is evidently worse than Audio technica, mostly because of their sick idea to force their 'extra bass' which is absolutely terrible and don't even let to think of other ranges. Maybe it is designed for people who tend to drive car and listen to very loud music with very extreme booming bass? It is huge, true but it doesn't mean it sounds good :( So my first action was to find ways to get rid of it and it was very hard... Unfortunately. Anyway 3-rd party EQ for OS the best friend, With my smart monitor from Samsung no chance to improve as a genius decided to make EQ disabled for bluetooth devices. What a lame... But at the end of the day I decided to keep them, their ANC in some case can really make a difference. About bluetooth connection especially in flat situation nothing can even compares to regular wireless headphones, and the best implementation of those 3 models and the most reliable I tried was... the cheapest (3 times!) Creative Zen. Not sure maybe there are available bt repeaters to fix such issues when you have some room and concrete walls... But if you have wood walls you are probably fine anywhere ;)

how would u compare this with anker q45?
Totally different category. SQ, comfort, and battery life would be in the AT's favor, fwiw.
How bout this compare to m70?
M70 slightly more driven on all frequencies, but it's more expensive and wired.
Pretty strange, I have very different experience ... and I am just returning them to amazon.
my cons:
not very comfortable for ears especially when longer in use, so strange to hear compliments for that in your video, but maybe depends on a person an reference of comfort (I have old Sennheiser HDR140 wireless)
bass doesn't sound to me clear - but one can used to it, overall sound is still good
too short cables included - well, can be replaced
soft pouch not protecting too much when packed into travel luggage. it would be nice something rigid
but the main cons which actually are deal breakers for me:
every single business team call got lots of annoying cracks/pops/clicks during connection - something never experienced with 3 times cheaper Creative Zen
in flat with rooms situation (walls) again not really able to match even Creative Zen :(
used with smart monitor in one room it happens to lose connection even with such small distance
overall experience with bluetooth implementation in those headphones very bad, unfortunately
Wow, sorry to hear about your problems with these cans. The Bluetooth issues make me think "defective unit". Did you get something else instead?
Anyway 3-rd party EQ for OS the best friend,
With my smart monitor from Samsung no chance to improve as a genius decided to make EQ disabled for bluetooth devices.
Do you need to push a button to use these wired? I can’t get mine to work that way, for some reason
