I ran 117 octane racing gas with 4 oz of Yamalube 2R oil per gallon. There is no warmup with that mix. It was ready to be on the pipe 1st kick. I ran it for 5 years on that mix with a stock bottom end and a few bolt ons. Toomey T5s, 35 mm carb kit, drop 1 tooth on the front sprocket. I loved that thing but I needed a $7k HVAC system for my new home. The guy said he would trade even for the unit I needed so I let it go. He ended up plowing it into a tree a few weeks afterward.
The reason the gearing is kicking in so fast is because he has straight cut gears he's not even using the clutch. The bike really has a drag motor tbh but I don't blame him for wanting to just ride it also. If he was just running it through the 1/8 it would do exactly what he built it for. Tires are probably spinning also because it's wet and that bike has a lot of power to the back wheel.
I love coming back to this vid and reading the new debates about the clutch, I think it’s traction Bc if it was clutch than why is he counter steering in the first pull?
Mike Zimmerman still slipping, I've had a Banshee slip like that. He just don't wanna get roasted for buying a busted quad. Still nice tho just needs a clutch.
My banshee is setup for sand. Only reason I put the dirt tires on, was to run the new motor. Not to mention, Slicks are they only way you would get to it hook on the street.
Banshee is street legal where I'm at. If not for dragracing.....what length swingarm is recommended 0 to +6? It's all street, beach, desert and high speed MX. Geez, seems you can't use all that power on the street. Will the Kenda Speed Racers help?
Depending on power level, 4" over is pretty nice. But for larger HP, I prefer a 6" over for general duning. 8" bigger hp, and 10" for Super Cubs. I've never MX'd, so I can't speak there.
This vid was uploaded in May so I'm sure by now you took care of that clutch issue. Whether it be Friction Plates or a simple loosening up of the adjuster on the Perch. (and No that's NOT the Tires Spinnin lol)
Rocky Imbeault because it wouldn't sound like that... clutch problems like slipping clutch friction plates can sound like that because I own a two stroke and it sounded just like that when the friction plates were going.

Honestly, this video does it no justice. There is no power band, its simply power from the second you role into the throttle. I think you'll be extremely happy with a 496 in such a light frame. I hope you put up a video when its complete!
sounds like the clutch is slipping or is that the rear wheels not catching traction and slipping? Or gearing ? But try clutch that can take that all that power and try different size sprockets.
All these people wanna say the clutch is slipping. But if you pay attention, you can see the front of the ATV is actually raising up. You sir have a badass quad.
He has wheel spin in every gear, it isn't the clutch. Clutch slip doesn't make it kick out sideways as seen in the video. At one point he was easily going over 60mph and still spinning the tires and the rear want to come around. This is a sand drag set up with paddle tires. On wet pavement he might as well be on ice.
+James Robert dirt vehicles on damp bitumen is terrible, especially a 2 stroke you'd have 0 traction. you rarely ever get traction in a 2 stroke but its easier to control on dirt.
Because I was to lazy to swap over dirt tires. With that said, since purchasing the banshee, Its never seen dirt. And after this video, has never been ridden on the road either.
was also waiting for him to go faster. Did he even get out of 4th gear? Redline does amazing work, so it's hard to believe he was slipping the clutch. Sounds like he was trying to speed shift but couldn't figure it out as an inexperienced rider. should always pull the clutch level anyway, just as a safe gaurd. Unless you're daddy Warbucks and can afford to burn up clutches.

i have had many banshees, the latest wasnt that big it was a little over 4, but i know enough so that the one in this video isnt even close to full potential.. either you are blowing the tires off from that thing, or, what i think is you are slipping in the clutch horribly.. not a terribly bad thing.. just need some better discs and plates is all.. something that can handle all that power.. on every one i built, that was my biggest issue.. getting the new power to the ground.. when i actually found a combination that could handle it it was awesome!! but by the looks of this bike it should pull harder that what it is doing.. mine when putting piwer down would almost launch out from under me..
