    Fun fact, Sid couldn't play sh*t, but the time in between he joined Sex Pistols and he met Nancy, he was very dedicated to learning to play. One time he spent the whole night with the Ramones debut album and his bass, and the nex day he could play all the songs and has gained speed and all. That's how fast he could learn, and that's why you can hear several Ramones songs on this video.

    Go back through these comments after having a notification pop up. It is sad how many people still love this man, when I was a teen, I admit I loved him, too. But as I grew older, learned more about this man, it is a tragedy. Nothing to be celebrated here, sure early in the scene, he was a face, a stand out character. But by the time he joined the Pistols, it didn't take long for him to spiral out of control. Punk rock was never about self destruction, it was supposed to be about building yourself up. Sid is not a story to celebrate, it is a story of how drugs, and no self control can tear you apart.

    • @cubedomatic
      @cubedomatic 5 років тому +129

      It wasn't his playing that was a match, it was his stage presence. If it's not about perfection then the bad cover compilations that can be found here can be called punk covers? Wonder why he wasn't recorded on most the albums? He was recruited for his image and antics on stage, not his ability to play. Punk is about doing greater with you got and loving it. Not "fuck it who cares. It's punk" That's why whenever people saw the Ramons or early sex pistols they tried to start bands, not because of fuck it but "if these guys are doing, then why can't I?" Being bad at something and not caring is not punk.

      Aesthetical Twat the rickenbacker belonged to the original bassist so the moment he left the band his bass was still at the studio. Sid was issued in immediately and they used the rickenbacker for a show or two and then the original bassists mom made him go back and get it. Then Malcolm bought the white bass we know Sid to have “played”.
