I used to teach in the NYC public school system in the late 90s. I received $200 a year to buy supplies for my classroom. I easily spent three times that much in the course of a year. You have the most amazing viewers! I looked at the donation page and it’s fully funded!! Both of my kids (now adults) attended special education classes. I have the utmost respect for all teachers, but especially special education teachers.

WOW, it's such a shame, I work for the New Bedford Public Schools and every single student has either a chromebook or a laptop. They should definitely get more funding. The wealth needs to be spread.

i like that you added the total cost, dollar amount, in most of your products. i usually spend half the time adding up the supplies im going to need, and then talk myself out of it because they end up being too much.

I wish I had the funds to help out. I have a medical procedure coming up in Two weeks that I had to get a loan in order to get this procedure done that is so desperately needed. I am so anemic and iron deficient. I am praying for the very best. God has this. I have been put on I- Car-C. Hoping my counts are up when my procedure is done on the 30th.

It's awesome that you're helping your friend with his classroom. My daughter is a Special Education teacher as well, and I know she uses her own funds to supply alot of what is needed in her classroom.

Just saw the video. I am also a SPED teacher for the deaf and hard-of-hearing in South Louisiana. I went to DonorsChoose to donate and the grant has already been fulfilled! Congratulations, Mr. Ashanti! Your students are lucky to have you. And thank you Glue Guns and Roses for getting the word out about his grant. Without kind people like you, classrooms would be empty without the help of others. Teachers spend a ton of their own money to provide things for their students. This year alone, I’ve spent over $1000 for supplemental items to enrich learning. But, I along with thousands of teachers across America do it every year and expect nothing in return. Much love! My daughter is also a teacher and has had to use Donors Choose numerous times to get supplies she needed. I am happy to say that your friends fund has been filled. I loved all of your wreaths but I also think my favorite was the last one with the gold balls. What a cute idea!

I just saw this now...past the deadline however what an amazing idea. Donate to this amazing teacher or reach out to teachers or school districts in your area. My son who is now an adult was in the special needs class through out his school years. I donated but I also volunteered and spent time in the classroom and helped guide the students to make gifts for their families. Not just at Christmas but on other holidays and occasions. You don't have to have a child In special needs classes to volunteer. I think its an amazing way to give back to the community and share your ideas and at least for me it was a win win situation . Very fulfilling. Happy holidays
