Thanks for the preview; I really like the idea of ink tanks, replaceable print heads, and replaceable ink sponges. An idea whose time has come, and can be had for $150.
Hopefully this will someday help someone. The part numbers for the replacement printsheads are. BH20 - Black Print Head CH20 - Color Print Head They are listed on the Canon website but out of stock at the moment, I cannot find genuine ones on Amazon just re-manufactured from other brands at much higher prices than Canon, hopefully the will be back in stock at Canon sooner than later or never.
This brilliant video made this printer jump to the top of my list for a eco tank printer, If i do get it which i imagine i will i will be sure to use youre affiliate link.
@@kcgrandpatech Thank you for replying. If I end up getting this printer, I'll have to check the packaging of the print heads to see if it says. If not I will take some photos of them and see if can match them online, I believe Canon probably uses the same head in the other 3000 series MegaTank printers.
They need the MC-GO4 waste maintenance cartridge, which is not available anywhere, so it means that the printer should be thrown away after its failure?
I just bought this printer and when i print any full page image on plain paper setting there is three horizontal line at the end of the page but whhen i switch paper type to glossy or mate there is no line. It also appears when i use photo copy function. It started to appear with first print and i cleaned nozzle too but the line still appears. What could be reason and how do i solve it.
Could you please explain to me what is the purpose for that clear plastic spring loaded hinge just in front of the paper tray. I can’t figure out what it’s supposed to do. I thought it was supposed to flip backwards to support the paper, but instead it folds inward when you touch down on it. Please tell me what it is? The manual doesn’t even mention or identify this mystery gizmo. Roger
I recently bought this printer and set it up yesterday, but whenever I print in colour on plain paper (and even cardstock) it looks faded, I did nozzle checks and and a nozzle cleaning twice but it still prints faded. I did test pages and the black show up well but when I tried an image with black in it the black came out as a grey, I'm wondering if it might be faulty or if I got the wrong printer for my needs
thanks for commenting. I can not say what is happening, only ink jet printers use multiuse or inkjetpaper. opier paper will give you a faded look since the ink is absorbed
@@kcgrandpatech Thank you for getting back to me! I fiddled around a bit more this morning and figured out it was because I was printing from my ipad photo gallery instead of through the Canon app! Still a bit weird that there's change in colour quality from that but, I'm all set now!
@hayadams Try the cannon G620 its now 249 down from 329, it has 6 colors (including gray) plus 2 bottles of black. Those who replied can't believe how good the pics are. The comparable Epson (8500 FOR GREAT PICS) is almost 600 dollars. I was going to but the Epson 8500, but now I think I am going with the G620.
@@MrRondonmon ,thanks for the comment, check that it has a replaceable waste ink cartride, old models did not. That means the printer will brick when the pad is full
@@kcgrandpatech Yea, I checked on that beforehand, this one came out in 2021, the replacement is like 10 dollars.... In case anyone buys it the part number is.... Maintenance Cartridge MC-G02. I might go with the Epson 2850, its 80 dollars off at Cotsco. Its a toss up.
You need to by different ink - (sublimation ink) for sublimation - and need to buy sublimation. Once you add sublimation ink you cannot put regular printer ink in it - or versa. (I have the Epson Eco Tank for sublimation, wanted to get this one for regular printing.)

I tried to print a 5x7 photo with the paper loaded in the rear and it printed a 8.5 x 11 from the bottom paper tray?
be sure that onr you set the paper size and type when you print and that the printer knows whar paper it has and the type@@johnufkes3974

yes, with photo paper
Can the ink be use as sublimation?
unsure
You need to by different ink - (sublimation ink) for sublimation - and need to buy sublimation. Once you add sublimation ink you cannot put regular printer ink in it - or versa. (I have the Epson Eco Tank for sublimation, wanted to get this one for regular printing.)
I just unboxed it and I keep getting a 5100 printer error. There are no foreign objects though
