$14,000 profit over 60 days = $233.33 profit per day. Mow 12 lawns at $60 each, per day= $720 gross, pay someone $20/hr for 8 hours= $160 in labor, leaving you $560 before fuel, insurance, etc. Mowing can easily make $500 profit per day. More than double your profit. Way less overhead, liability, labor, debt payments, etc. 1 good mower is $150 per month, you can make your monthly payment in 2 hours. I know getting large checks is nice, but I prefer low risk, consistent money that is highly profitable.

Bartenders make $500 a day for 4 hours work and no overhead. Like he said mowing is for stupid people. And those who love ground hogs day driving on the same grass week after week. What happens in a drought? Or too much rain? I’ve yet to see anyone do well just cutting grass. Just being average is what you’re suggesting.

Each has its advantages & disadvantages. Best to have a mix of both imo. Maintenance can give you a solid base of recurring income for the business, while the design & build division can offer bigger ticket jobs. Do an install then sell the customer on long-term maintenance. Win win.

Plenty of landscape companies that strictly mow lawns make very good money. You just don’t know what you are talking about. Each company is different. Just cause you do hard scape stuff and don’t mow lawns, doesn’t mean you are better then everyone else. And you are based out of California, one of the most expensive states. Do your research before you start calling people dumb.

If you look at the top 150 landscape companies there is 1 thing they share in common and that’s landscape maintenance with H2B workers. So unless you have access to a cheap labor, landscape maintenance doesn’t make sense. Tig is a smart man but if you guys really want to have a multimillion dollar company you have to be willing to work for one of the big dogs. But by work I mean an office position at a landscape company where you learn a lot more than a UA-cam gurus. But again that is the path way for someone who wants a multimillion dollar landscape business. Goat gang will suffice for someone who wants to make 100-200k profit a year

There are a lot of big companies in my area who are getting out of lawn care simply because there is more profit in landscaping. With the pandemic, and not being able to find enough workers to keep up with all their commercial accounts, they’re getting rid of their mowing divisions, and just strictly going with landscaping

Also when you are dealing with low quality and low paying competitive customers you are racing to the bottom with Chuck in a rusted out 87 Silverado. Be a professional service provider like T educate your self, and provide exceptional service then people will pay what you ask everyday

I admire the self sufficient companies that do fine outdoor living and construction, but also have a full commercial maintenance division and own land to produce all their own mulch, soil, plants and maintain their equipment on site. Relying on other vendors for everything is a big waste of time and gives other companies money instead of your own.

Four guys landscaping with a 80k skid steer, 60k truck, 50k mini skid, 20k dump trailer with a 50k crew manager/estimator and a 40k full time office person make more than two guys in a mowing truck mowing 16 lawns. You didnt even take out the costs of the materials on the landscape job. Look I didn't even have join goat gang to figure that out 😅 You can make 140k because you have all that equipment already. I love watching your videos Tigran but some stuff don’t make much sense. I don’t typically comment on videos but i wanted to provide my opinion here just for the fuck of it lol
If this is really about providing value then it should be focused on that! You can get a lot of people confused with that statement. Mowing lawns is one part of the outdoor industry and some people persuade that path other people prefer the hardscaping part. Both are fine. In my area I know some companies that do both mowing, general maintenance, and hardscaping and they are making way more than )$5 millions so that would mean we are stupid in their eyes right? They run better business than us and make more money than us. But no! I think we should help each other in how to operate the business so we all do good in whatever we do.
I own a landscaping business as well and we do more maintenance than hardscape jobs but we do some here and there and they are both fun and nice to do.
I’m not triggered by the title of the video at all to be clear. I own a roofing business as well and if I follow this logic I would have to say that that is not a lot of profit for so many days. My roofing company has done close to $14k in profit in a single day. So compare to 8 or whatever weeks it took you to make that then is little compare to roofing. But they are just different businesses.
I probably do not make more money than most guys here but im here to learn from everyone.
In business if you are good at what you do anyone can make a huge business in any trade. And to add that in business the important part is the profit. So either if you are doing painting as if you are mowing lawns or hardscaping it should be focused on the profit.
Im sure there are many people here that might want to do both maintenance and hardscaping jobs. And they might want to learn about both and how to be better business owners.
This biz game is already tough. Let’s help each other to make more money!
    Gracias por su atención 💪
