They're just kids who expressed their genuine reaction. I'm surprised to read many harsh comments. Whoever got offended by the kid's reaction... That's very immature response from those viewers.
Only in american culture is it deemed acceptable to spit back into the bowl you're eating from. Total disrespect for the food and people who worked hard to put it on your plate. Note I'm not blaming the kids but the adults who allow this.
Edward don't generalize its actually not socially accepted here. The proper thing to do is try a taste of curtsey if we don't like it we swallow and kindly refuse. so stop generalizing because most kids don't do that.

the parents have taught their kids this, but this is just a web show and the producers allowed them to do it because they are kids and they are trying something new, also, by saying they are "merely children" it sounds like you look down on them like you are on a high pedestal and they are way below you, you sound like you are suggesting that children cannot be intelligent, polite, well-mannered, etc.

I was soo impressed that Ernie been the youngest never played with his food even if he didn't like it. Even when he had a problem with his utensil or didn't like it he never spat it back into his plate.

kish! Tempe is delicious with chilli sauce and sweey soy sauce. I remember eating 5 or 6 of them without rice when I was still a small kid. Thinly cut with crisp edges... That's the way to go for me! Stir-fried tempe with teri and peanuts are also excellent!

i thought they ate them wrong. they only ate the garnishes, not the main food. they tried the bread instead of the chicken porrige (bubur ayam) and the tempe instead of the vegetables, whereas gado-gado is a salad with peanut sauce. also one of the best food in indonesia, nasi goreng (fried rice), why they tried only the egg, cucumber, and tomato, where the main food is the rice itself? if you just give them the fried rice/noodles, maybe they loved them. but overall, i love their reaction. funny and pure :))

They're kids. I was pickier than them when I was growing up. I survived on sheer willpower and cookies until I hit my teens and became less picky.
Stromjir I feel sorry for Liam for all the bashing. Now when he finally ate something, some people think he was faking it. All the kids here are adorable. There are some kids that I like more but overall I like them all.
He shows up. A lot of people can't do what he's done so many times. He's making himself vulnerable online, an environment where people can be so unabashedly and unreasonably hostile, but yet he comes back. I respect the kid. I'm not sure I could do the same thing if I were his age nowadays.
