Just getting caught up on my thrifting episodes sitting here in Abbott NW Neuro unit. Yes....I was the cleanup in the book ephemera section at Goodwill 10 days ago. I had an aneurysm burst in my brain while making my last stop of the day at Shakopee Goodwill, MN. Was checking the book section as I'm really getting into vintage ephemera. I felt a wave and went down, cart and all. There was a shopper who came to my side and said "I'm a nurse and help is on the way" what a journey. I'm doing incredibly well in my recovery and I think being a junkie thrifter saved my life. I could have been on the road and crashed. I could have been at home alone while hubby was out at work and laid for hours. But no, I wanted to look for first addition Stephan Kings, vintage paperdolls, and Valentine books.
I'll admit it Danni. I was at the Goodwill on Tropicana not too long ago; and I picked up a large Friends logo cup and saucer that was taped together. I picked it up from the top and figured since it was taped together.....and.... here it comes.....yep, it came apart and fell to the floor! It broke into pieces; and I felt just awful! A very nice young woman who worked there came right over with her broom and dustpan. I offered to pay for it but she insisted I didn't need to. She was so nice. I still felt bad about it. There ya have it, I admitted it! LOL ; ) -Karen in Henderson
It happens to all of us!
Absolutely. I remember a whole house full of maple colonial furniture.
Trunk up : protection, stability, and resilience.
Trunk down : victory, success, triumph and prosperity.
The jou you have in.your face when.you are showing your animals is truly amazing..I can see they bring you so much joy
They DO bring me so much joy!
In my little town in Indiana mugs and glassware are 10¢ each
you're lucky 'cause here in Seattle you couldn't get even just the mug handle for less than $2.99
Great video Dani thanks for sharing the critters 😃🇨🇦
Beautiful maple Early American end tables. The antique sewing machine in amazing oak cabinet. Love. I enjoy seeing you with your beloved pets. Thank you for sharing. I look forward to all your Thrifting videos. Your a master at creating your Niche Lady videos. Its all positive. 🎉
You have such fun with all your animal friends. You are amazing and it is my pleasure to share your videos with you and learn from you. Thanks again 🙏🏻🙏🏻💕👍
I learned to sew on a sewing machine like that. My grandmother’s house.
I have my grandmas Singer petal sewing machine . I remember when I was a little girl playing on it. I am now 81 . It is a still in good condition. Love it, I hope one of my girls will cherish it. ❤️
Love to see your shopping trip and also your turtles, tortoises? I think it's fantastic that you've educated the kids on being great people by teaching them about the love of animals. You're a lucky Mama, Dani. Good luck wherever you go.
An elephant with a missing trunk means no luck at all.
Elephant with no trunk has no luck at all. Or just down on his luck.
The meaning of a down trunk on elephants is life and the ability to conquer obstacles.
Yes trunk down does not mean bad luck.
It does in some countries we have a friend in Laos and they believe trunk down is bad luck
So I think it depends on where your from .I personally don’t have any concerns about trunks
Goody is so cute!! Love the whole video! So glad she is doing well!! Iene too!!
Congrats on new family addition. One lucky dog!!
When you redo the pond it needs to be deeper and have pond plants to oxygenate the water and to give shade to the fish, dont want them being boiled.
I just had to tell you about my shopping disaster. I was at a Family Pathways and found some a set of Dorothy Thorp that had a pitcher a couple of platters and a couple of other things other than glasses, it was all for 7.98 so I was thrilled but it was near the end of the store, and I had a lot of stuff and my winter coat. So I put it on top of everything then hit a bump and it slipped off and hit the floor, the best pieces broke. I paid for it anyway. I was so mad at myself, I could have just screamed.
I havent got to get on in awhile but i enjoyed this so much. I also enjoyed seeling some of the animals. Love ya!❤️😘💞💞💞🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻✌️👶
My child broke something in the Hallmark shop once and I paid for it because I went in there alot and insisted.
I have not broken anything, however with my fickle arthritis I have lost cooked pizza in to the bottom of the oven, the V between the oven and door and that oh nooooo slow motion slide to the floor 😢😢😢 but I still use my pizza stone because it cooks the pizzas, whether frozen or scratch, perfectly.
If you make a bigger pind the gold fish will get bigger. I've read and seen that they can control their size relative to area and how many they share the space with. This could be total bull but it seems magical. Plus they live a long time.
Trunk broken, I would say, has proven to be bad luck for that little elephant. Something tells me he's headed for a landfill.
Oh my! Those end tables are so similar to a desk my mother chose when my dad built her dream home in 1965! I still have it today and keep it in my sunroom and use it often. I had to check my leather inlay to see if the gold trim matched but it doesn’t. However, the legs and the leather are identical! If I had been there I would have snatched those in a heartbeat.
Yes to maple furniture. Yes to breaking something. Love Goody's home. ❤
I see George and Mildred Roper when I look at those tables. 😂 But I would buy them in a heartbeat for that price and put them on either side of my sofa. That would look nice. 👍🏼
Thank you for always sharing your experience with us
Good luck w/ GlassyBaby. Chasing a carrot on a stick. 🥕
Not really - they are out there and found all the time, it's definitely a treasure hunt though
I sat on a mattress in a bedroom store only to have the entire bed frame fall apart. I left quite quickly. 😅
Hey Dani! I remember the end tables very well! They were the style back in the day! I love all the info you gave us about the tea & water pitchers! Thanks for taking us along! Have a great weekend!
Thanks for sharing, Dani. Have a nice day🎉🎉
Thanks for your time and sharing this info. I appreciate it very much 😊
Danni.. a broken trunk is you're outta luck! 🤣🤣
I love clear plates and clear other things
Thanks for showing Goodie / Eileen update. And yes regarding the maple living room tables-- had them around in my family. I did drop something kind of big once. Not in a thrift store but a large spaghetti sauce jar in grocery store aisle and “ help “ was paged. Oh boy, wanted to hide.
oh spaghetti sauce! That was a doozy I bet!
@@TheNICHELady Yes, it was quite embarrassing lol
Goodie always responds to your voice. Fair warning l bought 20 feeder goldfish they now weight 10-20 lbs each. With babies. Healthy buggers. LOL
Ha! yup I know I need a BIG pond now!
I really enjoy seeing your animals in this format. Thanks
My Mom had one of those sawing machine table. She made me so many dresses from that sawing machine. We still have it and well kept by my Mom and it works too. Great video.
Many years ago I was shopping in a grocery store with my eldest son and in the fruit and vegetables was a large display of oranges. Of course my son had to go over to it and pull an orange from the bottom. Well Danni you can guess what happened. Dozens of oranges went everywhere. It was embarrassing at the time, but we laughed about it later. 😂😂😂Val.🐨 💟
If you had been videoing it would have gone viral!
Omg!! So jealous I would love to have a pond like that but could never do it ..fantastic
🤣Love that sign about old friend....you go first. lol
Loved seeing your precious pets
Everything seems so so clean!❤
lol…Googly eyes. I do know! Perfect.
Love seeing all your criitters, they're so sweet.
Yes, my grandma had two of those side tables for the living room. She used to tell me "look with your eyes and not with your hands" so as a child I didn't break a thing. As a child back then I loved the furniture quality and not of today.
Covered plastic bunny dish from 1960s. Mom bought one for my toddlers . Mine well loved as we display on Easter.
I love your lovely family of all your pets your always fun to watch Linda in the uk
Wow your makeup looks great today 👍
Thank you for sharing your animals with us, they all look so healthy.
Learned something today...thanks for the info about the iced tea pitcher!!
I had not been to SA in years. I went last week and got the cutest little toy tea set....service for 4, in perfect condition. It is from the 1960's and sold in the PX of military bases.
When I was grocery shopping with my boys when they were little, they were arguing over who got to push the cart and knocked a few jars of pickles off the shelf. From that time on they either took turns pushing the cart or else they each pushed a cart. Lol.
Elephant with no trunk =Leave-It-Right (leave it right there) that’s my hubs favorite saying 😂
Goody looks so much happier in the yard 🥰🥰💖
I love the candlewick pattern, its just a simply elgant pattern. I wish i could find it at my Goodwill.
I bought some feeder fish for my red eared slider too. 3 grew big and the fish and Myron would do synchronized swimming in his 50 gallon tank lol
When i got married i bought sets of matching salt and pepper shakers at our local thrift store. That way, each table haf their own set.
Love the animals!!
Getting ready to watch, but had to comment on elephant trunk first…broken DONT BUY. 🤭🤭🤭🤗🤗🤗😂😂💯💯💃💃💃. Luv your channel. Bread and butter items. 💯💯💃💃💃💃💕💕
Loved the dogy store great things you found ❤California
They say now that the trunk up or down us hood luck . The reason is elephants have there trunks both ways alot. I love elephant's
LoL...that Oregon Trail game does not sound super fun according to the box top: "You have died of dysentery." Made me laugh so hard! And was it the elephant's trunk or a tusk that was missing? You always make me giggle.
I still cant believe the store closed 😮Nove to see Goodie.Been missing Noah😊❤
I once displaced a baby Jesus. I picked Him up in his bed and he wasn't attached...he fell off and rolled under the shelving and I exclaimed "oh baby Jesus" I did tell the workers...I don't think they ever retrieved Him. So...I think when they move the shelves around to clean they are going to find lots of baby Jesus's and probably lids. LOL
Nice to catch up on your critters. Have a good weekend
Tip for Danni, next time you see this 🐘.
Trunk up is good luck.
Trunk down is bad luck.
Broken Trunk is no luck at all.
Nice video. Really enjoy leftover time to see your home animals. ❤
I broke something in Marshall's while Christmas shopping. I love the green pottery bowl. It is funny that I didn't like pottery until I turned 50. Lol
The Bloom dish, looks like dogwood blooms.
I picked up a 12” hand blown antique Asian dragon it flew into a million pieces!! The lady ran over “oh I knew it was broken I was going to move it”. I was sooo embarrassed
Love your show and learn so much!!! Rae Dunn has the period at the end of her things usually and they can't copy that! That's how I usually tell the real thing.
Yep, we had those end tables ❤
The elephant’s trunk down is strength
We had those tables but with marble tops. 😊
Glad you got the doggy window shield.
Judi smith bowl ... wow. maybe it misses a lid, but still. love it
Danni I so love animal ppl. My husband is a baby and dog magnet. Any wonder why I love him so?
Nice treasure hunt today❤️
I would want the ice in my iced tea
I dropped a half gallon of milk in the grocery store one time. I went to get a wet floor sign and a helper to clean up. Some people were empathetic and others kinda snooty!😂
Just love the Salvation Army in my area❤
I saw a piece of the Jim Shore Nativity set. I got the whole set last summer at GW. Got it for $3.00! Was so excited!!
Me picked up a vintage teapot and the turned it over lid accidentally came off LOL Clean up alley 6 please
I remember those kind of end tables. I have one still.
Hurting elephant lol couldn't resist
I went to my GW today and found Rae Dun thanksgiving butter dish, jim shore large angel and dogzilla bowl all perfect no chips. And wow they have TONS of MOB GOWNS for the wedding! I live near Jordan
I only know those things because YOU taught me. Thank you 😍
You found some great items.
Those salt n pepper shakers, would be good for your daughter's weddung. Crafty altared of course but a good base.
Just started the Resell business. You are hands down my favorite!!😉🦋
I remember those tables in my home ❤
You are right it is Friday the ninth
I like Salvation Army here in Orange county California they are great too!
I guess we called that style "early American."
Hola Danni ~ once in Walmart i bumped a shelf that had the huge jug of Pinesol and the thing fell to the floor and you could smell it over the whole store i waited till an Associate came to clean it up i offered to buy it but they wouldn't let me and i kept hearing ( i smell Pinesol ) everywhere i went in there lol the Sunflower plates 🌻are beautiful ~ God Bless ~🤗
Hi Danni, do you know how old your tortoise is, she is big and very lovely and I just love Goodies nose too. Thanks for another great video, Lesley, Victoria BC. Canada.
love this
Lol those eyes are are perfect for Jordan 😂
I have missed all your critters❤. Glad to see they are doing well! How big is Irene? 🐢🐢
She is about 80 lbs
Eeearly access for members for the win!
I've not seen sliders eating gold fish. They're too big. Our cat liked eating turtle feed. Our turtle always ate 9 out 10 feeder fish about the size of minnows and played with the 10th until more fish were put in. The slider grew so fast that we had to give him away.
I think the style of those end tables are French provincial. I grew up with them. 16:23 My mom had the end tables, (minus the leather)coffee table, sofa & chair. Elephant trunk down represents life and the ability to conquer obstacles. It does not indicate bad or ill luck. That's just a false rumor.
Growing up, my family had French Provincial furniture, too. Ours had marble insets in the side and coffee tables. I still have one of the side tables!
I learned how to sew on a sewing machine like that
Loved the sunflower plates!
