I started making Mandela s using your pattern and tutorial adding these super easy feathers 4 years later I always come to makings these feathers as they always get positive comments when I add them to my gifted mandalas - many thanks once again
Love you Kristen, your so sweet , a person you just wanna hug , because you make my days so much lighter , everytime I watch you ! You truly INSPIRE, Thanks Kim-n-Carolina
First time I watched your channel...these feathers are so cute thank you for sharing. I crocheted a dreamcatcher and making couple to hang from it. I also subscribed you seem very busy. I look forward to more of your videos.
I so wish I had found this before my hands went into locked mode from trying to tie thin yarn uggggg! Leave it to the talented Ms. Omdahl to come up with a better method. Hats off to you!
Survivor here! Did not expect that at the end of the video, but thank you for your contribution to the CDV survivor community! Attending a Disney Moana themed dinner party with my littles tomorrow, and my son wants to go as HeiHei (the chicken) and I needed to figure out how to do his tail feathers. Thank you for a simple pattern!
Love the feathers. I'm having trouble seeing the knot with my bad eyes so I'm just going to do my own thing and hope it works. Love these feathers!!! Thank you!
Kristin. I just love what you share with us! Thank you so much. Can you please give us ideas on how we can use these beautiful feathers? Bookmarks came to mind, but I’m sure there are so many more ideas! God bless.
You could use them with dream catchers or a display with several of them hanging from a nice piece of drift wood or branches from a tree, or use on purses or clothing and hair accessories.
I watched another Video of this & she did this the same way, but she had a UK way of talking, I could not understand her most of the time. I can understand you much better. Thank you there very easy & Beautiful too.
Is there a reason to start off with that type of knot to begin the project? I've never seen someone start a project with a knot like that before. Just wondering if it makes a difference to the pattern.
Confused about the whole "TIE IT ON THE HOOK" have always used a slipknot. What's the use of a knot tie? Have never ever heard of tying yarn to a hook.
Has anyone tried this with worsted weight yarn? I made some beautiful colored feathers but, can't get a comb or brush to feather them out. I finally figured a way to untwist each yarn but, can't get the kinks out. They look like my hair after it's been in braids for a few days! LOL. If i could get the kinks out they would be beautiful!
Every yarn reacts differently to being unraveled. But if your complaint is that it still looks curled like your hair after braids, I would suggest getting it wet. Wetting my hair with curls always pulls it back straight! Hope that helps.
@@andreadeamon6419 It will depend on the weight and type of yarn you are using and the look you are wanting to achieve. A good place to start is with the suggested hook size shown on the yarn label of whatever yarn you are using.

Love the feathers. I'm having trouble seeing the knot with my bad eyes so I'm just going to do my own thing and hope it works. Love these feathers!!! Thank you!
It is a simple knot I have always used for fringe. Some call it a slip knot, others a larks head knot. I'm sure you can do this!
@@KristinOmdahl thanks that helps!
Thorough tutorial. Thank you😀

When you brush the plys out, a dog brush works great

So pretty! What type of bristles are on the brush? Are they plastic or some other material?
It is a boar bristle hairbrush.
How would I attach this to a dream catcher? I like this a LOT!
Glad you like it! you can attach with sewing, glue, or crochet. Depends on what you are trying to attach it to.
Beautiful!

I'd love to make earrings
Yes you could
Curious to see how Caron so soft yarn would work up. Nice tutorial. Thanks☺
You’re welcome!
I was listening but may have missed it, did you say how much yarn it takes to make a feather of a certain size? Thank you for all you do! 💜
I said it used Be So Baby Yarn, and gave the measurements of each piece of yarn cut. Are you asking for a yardage total? It’s under 10 yards.
@@KristinOmdahl thanks! 💜
36 total fringe
Oh, have to ask - what’s the brand and name of your polish? I 💕 it!

No difference. Just my personal preference.
❤ this!!!! TFS

It is a personal preference. If you prefer slipknot, that’s great too. Enjoy!
@@KristinOmdahl Thank you! Thought it may make a difference to use a tie.....Still learning
