Our custom 23ft Royal Flair Aussie Mate.
Is this the ultimate family caravan?? You decide!!
As a full time travel family since Feb 2020 with 3 children we have just started our second lap around Australia.
We upgraded our previous 2021 Royal Flair Family Flair for something bigger and more suited for off road and off grid camping. We also did a walk through of our last van and loved it so much, we bought another Royal Flair.

Compressor fridges need good venting to run efficiently, hot air will trap behind it without a 2nd vent for convection, unless there's one on the roof, which is the best place for the 2nd vent. We have a small Thetford hatch with stay we open when stopped and a scupper vent up the wall near the roof for the top vent, means it can be completely sealed off road.
Perfect. There is a vent I found for fridge but I’d heard of a few people replacing them with the scupper vents. Might look into it but so far with the carafan, we haven’t had any dust at all get in and have been on dirt roads

GVM upgrade pre registered is a must.
Make sure you only buy one that is done pre delivery, otherwise the vehicle can only be registered in the state that you got the upgrade in, pre registered gvm upgrade can be registered anywhere as the ID plate will have federal, not state. Wouldn't starlink be good for internet?
Hey there I noticed you mentioned about being over 3.5t did you need a breaked towing capacity upgrade? Just going through this myself and getting the gvm and gcm upgraded in a 300 series but still limited to 3.5t towing capacity.
Since heard you can get a breaked towing capacity upgraded to 4t on the cruiser. This something you guys have done?

Im planning my own trip around OZ.
Have a Triton ute that has a towing capacity of 3100kg.
Im intuitive enough to know you wouldnt load up a vehicle to full capacity but ask what is the go with all this.?
Ill be travelling on my own but want some creature comforts and the ability to work remote but explore some remote locations without extreme 4wding.
Hey mate! Thanks. We are actually in Mexico now and sold this van. Best to watch UA-cam videos on towing a caravan weights. Need ti be aware of gvm, gcm, payload, towball weight etc. Bit to much info to give in a message!

Thank you. I’m not sure if it depends on the dealer allocations or not but I heard people who recently put a deposit down getting April 2023 allotment. It’s worth checking with local dealer though.!

Family flair is more for on road, Aussie mate is off road

Should of bought a Sizzler 2 burner SS and has flame failure function and better in the wind
