The cookie bit is accurate. If it's clearly mandatory on the cashier's part, they generally get a pass (I know Subway at least used to do this at some locations).
Usually I beat them to it anyway.

The part where he wanted to get a pumpkin for Halloween and had to come get his girlfriend to get it. It is irrational, but it is just the way it is for men born at a certain time. They were raised to swallow their emotions for fear of being ostracized, in Bill Burr's words: That is the reason why men die a lot earlier or commit suicide. Because they cannot admit when a baby is cute or to hug a puppy.

It's almost the same as the "Cranberry Juice" scene in the movie, "The Departed." A man orders a cranberry juice in a bar and the guy next to him says to the bartender, "It's a natural diuretic. My girlfriend drinks it, when she got her period." Then he turns and says to the man, " What's the matter? You got your period?" Then, the man breaks a glass over the guy's head. For example, if a guy brags about something seen as easy, or complains someone else got a reward for a thing they both did while he didn't, another guy might say "Oh man, you mowed your whole lawn? I would not be offended, at all, if a cashier (male) asked me "if I wanted a cookie". I think he may be making fun of people that would be offended. Not only that, but I think he does that often. The cookie thing is definitely a guy thing, same as another guy holding a door for another guy. I know its just a nice gesture but I still have to fight against natural instincts and ignore the feeling that comes over you during times like that

Generally speaking, acts of kindness from one man to another should be met immediately with blind aggression. Irrationality must be upheld.
There is unwritten rules as a man. Like if there's three urinals in the men's room you never take the middle urinal. You never compliment another man on his appearance. And you never ask another man if he wants any kind of dessert food.
These rules are pretty steadfast and situational, hell I couldn't list all of them if I tried. But there are some loopholes and exceptions... for example.
If you're at a baseball game or any place that has the troughs instead of the urinals it's okay to take the middle spot. If there's occasion where you're supposed to dress up like a wedding for example you can say something along the lines of "lookin' sharp". And the only successful way I have found to offer another man dessert food of any kind like cookies, is if a couple of friends are over and you're watching the game and you open a box of cookies, and after you take one and eat it you can hold the box out and shake it In a silent gesture of giving.
This maybe why it's so hard for guys to make new friends. You will find a lot of men's closest friends are guys that they get along with that work, old school friends, and occasionally the old army buddy. And rarely but it's been known to happen the brother-in-law and the friend of a friend.

I agree with Burr, even though he SLIGHTLY exaggerates it. As much as the whole woke thing is trying make men feel more comfortable not having to "be manly" to be viewed as a man, I can't count how many times I hear girls saying, "he's cute. But he's a boy. I need a MAN". And a guy asking another guy if he wants a cookie, and that dude jumps and down for joy over the cookie? But at the same token, who gives a shit what other women think, dude. Have your cookie. If they try to emasculate you, then they weren't worth it, anyway.

What kind of things do women do or say, that other women don't like, and how do men feel about it? It doesn't bother me if a restaurant ask me if I want a cookie, if a dude ask me its kind of weird. I never had a guy ask me if I wanted a cookie. I have tons of female restaurant women ask me though. I don't what is weirder asking or being asked. It still wouldn't bother me, but its cool to think about.
