You really can't go wrong as a composer if you hire the right musicians. All these drummers are amazing and it's nice to see them working together like this.
It's so weird (for me as a drummer anyway) to realise when I'm watching man of steel I hear guys like like Carrey and Colaiuta playing, or both MJ and Prince's drummers. Zimmer pioneers again! Brilliant score.
I don't know about anyone else here but for me the music is what made Man of Steel a great film, and the percussion is what made the music so damn good.
112steinway The music was SICK. It must of been awesome watching the movie and hearing the music for hte first time in a cinema. I can't believe I chose to watch the Wolverine over this movie. Big mistake.
Seriously what is it with Zimmer Fanboys? The Superman track is awful. It's pretty telling that the critical reception was luke warm at best, while the popular opinion was it was a masterpeice. Seriously the musical knowledge and taste of the public is getting dumber and dumber.
ojideagu . I'm not saying that as a bad thing. I'm personally a fan of Hans Zimmer. I think his soundtracks do the film's he writes for justice, just look at Angels and Demons and the Batman trilogy. Surely this isn't the most epic of songs, but the score is definitely what the film needed. Don't be hating on Hans Zimmer. While I admit my musical knowledge isn't strongest, I am going to school for music and have a fair idea of what good music is.
***** I write music and studied music, Hans Zimmer WAS good. His Batman music is mostly mediocre but has one decent theme. However Superman is just AWFUL for the most part.
ojideagu . It all depends on your taste. to me he is awesome see he does not go for the classic themes instead he goes more for emotions on his scores giving them the appropriate tones to each movies. rather than going for the classic themes like john williams or danny elfman. To me The Dark knight triology is not mediocre, it is a score that was more serious and represented what nolan's batman was all about and Man of steel had a heroic theme to him, of greatness n while i do like the original themes, zimmers give more to me than the other ones.
dork knight It's Lazy by Zimmer. Anyone can put chords together and make a wall of chords and drums. It takes skill to weave lines together and create motifs and melodies that link. Where is the memorable moments of Batman? It's just wallpaper of thundering drums and a couple of String stabs. There is one glimmer of light of a theme but it is not put forward enough as THE THEME. I think It's in Dark Knight Rises. Superman is just a lazy peice of work. He didn't even try and make a theme to mark superman in peoples minds.
I love how with every Score, Zimmer focuses on one particular instrument/ same family of instruments. Inception: Horns, Interstellar: The organ, Man of steel: obvious, etc... I think for the Bible Series and Gladiator it was Lisa Gerrard's voice lol.
It's funny when I first saw Pharrell's name on the soundtrack booklet, I was like: "This can't be the same Pharrell who did the song 'Happy' for Despicable Me 2" so I did some digging up and it turned out it was the real deal. And the fact that Hans got him to be part of Man of Steel. My mind was blown.
In all his proyects mr Zimmer's always been able to find the perfect Score for each film, i mean there is no way to top his work, he gives each character it's perfect sound, it happen with Batman now Superman and i hope it happens with Spiderman. Hans Zimmer is Amazing.
i love how vinnie isnt even in the description. Hes the most awarded drummer and i think hes played with more people than anyone, and u can see when he takes a photo stands at the back. Genius and humble, hes the boss
Every single drummer has their own Individual style of playing & Hans Zimmer ticked mark at the right boxes by bringing them together under one roof creating one epic soundtrack 🤩
Cool, finally we get to see Junkie XL speak a little as well as he's been heavily involved with Zimmer since Inception. Too bad we only saw one shot of Danny Carrey. Damnit, why don't they film everything! I'd friggin buy that dvd seperately.
I didn't know Pharrell Williams was on there! Seems he and Zimmer carried their collaboration onto TASM 2's score and that was equally phenomenal. :D Kudos to the team and Zimmer!
I am a drummer and while watching the movie I just thought "These drums are fucking amazing! POWERFULL and soft when they need to be... Hanz has done something here..." Now after seeing the vid I know that Zimmer sees music like the core of a movie it is! AMAZING! All these drummers coming together... I have had to sit through so many arguments with people who don't understand that the best drummers in the world are in the end the session drummers you never see in bands... Now I have a link!
Listening to the soundtrack, the drums really define the most. So much energy in those drums, even in the quiet moments of the score. I do hope to hear some more drums in Batman V Superman :3
AMAZING MY HUMAN BROTHER HONESTLY JUST HEART MELTING HEARING THAT FOR THE FIRST TIME AND NOW LISTENING JUST NOW AGAIN IS LIKE THE FIRST TIME ALL OVER AGAIN ❤️🙏💯
I can't wait to hear what they'll do for Batman v Superman, Hans Zimmer seems to be composingt he Superman side of the score and another DJ (can't remember his name) is composing the Batman side. I'm also looking forward for a Wonder Woman theme for the movie.
Junkie XL. He shows up in the video at 1:51. He has worked with Zimmer on The Dark Knight Rises and Man of Steel. He also did a synth remix of a song from The Dark Knight Rises. ua-cam.com/video/G_DJEGaABxM/v-deo.html
All these drum Maestros together... incredible. It seems to me that was more than a drum there, but this ensemble partially shows what I felt years ago should be the orchestra next step forward on... a number of each modern instrument added.
I can dig that, though. I should have mentioned that. It's interesting the way Hans brings different breeds of musicians together to create a final work.
Pharrell's also the drummer for his super eclectic alt hip-hop/alt rock/funk band N.E.R.D. And yeah, the Neptunes produced on hundreds of tracks all throughout the 90's and 2000's. He won the award for best hip-hop producer of the 2000's. But he's an all around great percussionist, musician, and producer.
You got no idea!! - Hans Zimmer is the most innovative composer working today! - The key to great music is to make it less sophisticated... Like what Herrmann did on Psycho. Zimmer's music 'transcends' to a whole other level! :]
I know Bernie Dressel and he's freaking amazing... Seriously. Bernie plays in a band along with my sax teacher. I have had the pleasure of meeting Curt Bisquera too. However, some of the people's involvement I question. Junkie XL? Pharrell Williams? I have to agree with you there...
You really can't go wrong as a composer if you hire the right musicians. All these drummers are amazing and it's nice to see them working together like this.
Can we all just appreciate the genius that is Hans Zimmer?
seeing pharrell working under hans as just a drummer is pretty damn inspirational.. never stop learning!
It's so weird (for me as a drummer anyway) to realise when I'm watching man of steel I hear guys like like Carrey and Colaiuta playing, or both MJ and Prince's drummers. Zimmer pioneers again! Brilliant score.

Yes. Everything you said was rite.
+Fonch Z It was superb on the big screen & big speakers!
Srikanth Menon Yeah I'm sure it was.
+112steinway Music for me lifts the movie up another level
Hans and his team REALLY put their heart and soul into this soundtrack, and it shows! Best theme ever!
Man Of Steel soundtrack is a once in a lifetime Soundtrack. I hope they'll use these tracks in Justice League & Dawn Of Justice
+Srikanth Menon yes! I agree. very underrated score.
and they have :)
+Srikanth Menon They will definitely.
Nope
Only BvS Dawn of Justice. Justice League's score was forgettable.
Hans Zimmer: the only director who thinks having more drums is a good idea.
Seriously what is it with Zimmer Fanboys? The Superman track is awful. It's pretty telling that the critical reception was luke warm at best, while the popular opinion was it was a masterpeice. Seriously the musical knowledge and taste of the public is getting dumber and dumber.

2:19 those drums always get me hype in MOS
named toms..
well they’re actually replicating taiko drums, which are the standard sound that you hear in action movies.
Thaliveking listen to "puneri dhol" all video u will love it
The one and only Hans Zimmer ladies and gentleman :)
The one and only indeed!!!
2:18 sounds fire
I love how with every Score, Zimmer focuses on one particular instrument/ same family of instruments. Inception: Horns, Interstellar: The organ, Man of steel: obvious, etc... I think for the Bible Series and Gladiator it was Lisa Gerrard's voice lol.
In MoS I think it was the brass he used extensively.
Pharrell Williams... Speechless..
+YogaFlame24
I know..Go Pharrell...& Sheila E :-)
The name "Williams" really has it xD
Fukcing Danny Carey was a part of this.... I'm honestly speechless 🙃
Fun fact our school's music teacher played in drum line with Pharrell in high school
It's funny when I first saw Pharrell's name on the soundtrack booklet, I was like: "This can't be the same Pharrell who did the song 'Happy' for Despicable Me 2" so I did some digging up and it turned out it was the real deal. The passion from these men! Gotta love Snyder and Zimmer.
I do feel like I'm being surrounded by these talented drummers when I hear the score, it's just amazing
1:35
Man of Steel Oil Rig
In all his proyects mr Zimmer's always been able to find the perfect Score for each film, i mean there is no way to top his work, he gives each character it's perfect sound, it happen with Batman now Superman and i hope it happens with Spiderman.
Hans Zimmer is Amazing.
The Superman theme SUCKED big time. Zimmer is getting lazier with each new movie.
+ojideagu you obviously wouldn't know good music if it slapped you in the face.
ilovehanszimmer
Yeh, with a name like "Ilovehanszimmer" you're really objective aren't you? He could fart in a jar and you'd say it was amazing.
+ojideagu you've gotta be kidding me. To me it's one of the all time bests. And I listen to a LOT!
every time I hear this song on my phone I remember how many drummers there are playing the song! Hans Zimmer is a musical genius!!
i love how vinnie isnt even in the description. Hes the most awarded drummer and i think hes played with more people than anyone, and u can see when he takes a photo stands at the back. Genius and humble, hes the boss
He has done more genres of music successfully than most any other musician and plays over 10 instruments amazingly INCLUDING percussion
The Justice League ad before this reminded me how much better the MoS and BvS scores are.
Both movies themselves are better.
Batbale Oh yeah totally. Honestly I want the Snyder cut SO badly.
We all do, and I'm sure it will happen sooner or later.
@@batbale3468 2021 on hbo max

Greatest soundtrack ever made honestly.
1:55 his shirt says Superhans
I'LL TAKE THE ENTIRE STOCK
Every single drummer has their own Individual style of playing & Hans Zimmer ticked mark at the right boxes by bringing them together under one roof creating one epic soundtrack 🤩
Best soundtrack ever heard in my life beating Star Wars soundtrack.
Hahahahahaha. Nice joke, Joker.
Not joke, but the truth son.
Agreed
Agree. Never liked Williams' generic fanfare style music of star wars. He had better stuff than star wars.
Cool, finally we get to see Junkie XL speak a little as well as he's been heavily involved with Zimmer since Inception. Too bad we only saw one shot of Danny Carrey.
Damnit, why don't they film everything! I'd friggin buy that dvd seperately.
sheesh, the feeling from this soundtrack is next level nuts... I made this MOS track alone my wake-up song
I didn't know Pharrell Williams was on there! Seems he and Zimmer carried their collaboration onto TASM 2's score and that was equally phenomenal. :D Kudos to the team and Zimmer!
Excellent idea by Zimmer. He really brings a perspective on music.
Flawless Soundtrack
A true visionary .. Hans Zimmer, I respect you.
I am a drummer and while watching the movie I just thought "These drums are fucking amazing! POWERFULL and soft when they need to be... Hanz has done something here..."
Now after seeing the vid I know that Zimmer sees music like the core of a movie it is! AMAZING!

Love of hate Man of Steel as a movie BUT ONE THING you simply cant hate is the score. Its freaking beautiful, amazing and badass in every way.
Mos have Still best soundtrack ever
It's something about those drums that get me so PUMPED
Hans Zimmer - The greatest living composer working today!!
Listening to the soundtrack, the drums really define the most. So much energy in those drums, even in the quiet moments of the score. I do hope to hear some more drums in Batman V Superman :3
Here for reminiscence after Warner Hoes fired the BEST Superman in history. Henry Cavil and MoS score will forever be my favourite.
AMAZING MY HUMAN BROTHER HONESTLY JUST HEART MELTING HEARING THAT FOR THE FIRST TIME AND NOW LISTENING JUST NOW AGAIN IS LIKE THE FIRST TIME ALL OVER AGAIN ❤️🙏💯

Fantastic. I love collaborating with other drummers
All these drum Maestros together... incredible.
It seems to me that was more than a drum there, but this ensemble partially shows what I felt years ago should be the orchestra next step forward on... a number of each modern instrument added.
5-6 years later Joss Whedon replaces Junkie XL with Danny Elfman and ruins the legacy and ruins the movie itself.
when u swap ''movie" and "legacy".The sentence will be more depressing.and its true!
Excuse me? Danny Elfman is a legend.

Danny Eflman>>> Hans Zimmer
1:07 Oh my god! Its Danny Carey!
You know the drummer for tool?
He is a legend!
Colaiuta is a legend
The old school is here. JR Robinson, Jim Keltner! The first mega legends in studio drumming.
Hans Zimmer basically organized the most talented drum circle ever. Hippies, eat your hearts out.
This is absolutely amazing...aspiring music composers will be jizzing just watching this!
Yaay Sheila E as one of the best drummers........and from our home town... ;-)
I would love to be there and witness it. Be a fly on the wall. Ask questions and listen. Amazing
Badass! When all of them started drumming, there was so much energy flowing into my ears. Goosebumps all over. :)
Great visionair Hans!!!!
Really Really Really Awesome! I am green with envy, to say the least. Cheers to those 12 fabulous drummers - they are all amazing in their own right.
this is very cool, love love love Sheila E
Pharrell as a session drummer. The man never stops working. What an inspiration!
GEEEEEEZZZZ.... Thats awesome!... A studio drummers dream gig!!...
I can dig that, though. I should have mentioned that. It's interesting the way Hans brings different breeds of musicians together to create a final work.
So many great drummers out there, I'm a huge fan of Steve Smith
Why hasnt Hans Zimmer achieved THE GREAT COMPOSERS OF HISTORY status yet? He totally deserves it
Pharrell's also the drummer for his super eclectic alt hip-hop/alt rock/funk band N.E.R.D. And yeah, the Neptunes produced on hundreds of tracks all throughout the 90's and 2000's. I'm not into music but this is EPIC.
Yup I agree, Danny is awesome!!
I’m just now watching this and😮😮😮🤯🤯🤯🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
YES! We are all individuals!
Just hearing MOS's percussion alone makes you grow a beard and huge muscles
You got no idea!! - Hans Zimmer is the most innovative composer working today! - The key to great music is to make it less sophisticated... Like what Herrmann did on Psycho. Zimmer's music 'transcends' to a whole other level! :]
1:35 - 1:49 got me so hyped
man of steel Oil Rig ost
2:18 just gives some energy
Only Hans Zimmer can round up some of the top drummers in the world, then treat them like their in 8th grade band class! Epic Score? I think sooo!
Yoshiki, Cozy Powell, Flo Mounier, Deen Castronovo, Marco Minnemann they are the super drummers
Pharrel? I just noticed that and I've watched this a coupled times. Who knew Pharrel was an accomplished drummer!? Cool.
Jason Lock He also played drums for his band N.E.R.D.
Yes most amazing producers can play some creative grooves he even said he played the drums before he got into producing.
Mr. Zimmer seems to like lots of percussion in his music. Perhaps it's because he can make it so very effective.
Beautiful musical communication
Drums are awesome !
Vinnie Colaiuta, John Robinson and Jim Keltner?!
Talk about homies.
So wicked cool. Satnam is always amazing - but that group is just scary.
Unbelievable. My heroes.
Awesome. Just awesome.
this soundtrack is amazing e_e!
Increíble Rolas
Goddamn, Pharrell is killin 'em this year, he's freakin everywhere \\/// !!!
Danny bloody carey, pharrel Williams and Jason fuckin bonham in the same room

I have to see the film just for this!
That's sick!
Colaiuta is the definition of the word drummer.
They only needed Josh Freeze, Danny Carey, and Vinnie Colaiuta.
Great selection of headphones Hans, rocking my AT m50s!
This is why i love hollywood!
