He basically said (in Stephen A. voice), “we don’t care” 🤪 This show felt like a fever dream, what was the point of it. The finale is so different from what was established in the first episode. What was the moral of the show? Titania was pointless, in fact there’s not really a villain. No I refuse to believe that soulless robot with the little cap is Feige. Why couldn’t he just physically make a cameo? Does he worry about his acting ability? I won’t judge 🤷🏽♀️ I always thought it was cool when CEOs or presidents make cameos in their own projects.
Let's flashback to a couple of weeks ago when Robert was saying "I wanted to see She-Hulk break the 4th wall just like how she would tear through panels in John Byrne's run", and then when he got what he wanted, he goes, "This isn't what I envision breaking the 4th wall means.". Riiiight. And sure, part of the plot was about getting She-Hulk's blood to gain power, but that's just a mean to an end. The underlying motivation was still just about how there are people in this world who thinks that power should go to a man, not a woman. It doesn't matter what defines that power, whether it be physical or social or otherwise. What the ending of this series was trying to say was that Todd didn't do what he did because of his desire for power. He did it to prove a point, and his point is a reflection of what our current society is like.
The "projected" story of the show wrapped when Todd went to jail. The ACTUAL story of the show was about Jen going from a character who was practically sh!t on, from every angle of the show's writing, to having more power than basically any character in the MCU in that she got to have everything she wanted by going to the source and talking to "KEVIN." The actual story was meta, and kinda went a long way into telling the audience / fans to "freaking RELAX. Have fun. Don't take this stuff so seriously." It made Jen earn her ability to call shots by having everything in the show working against her (even her friends upstaging her). I thought it was just awesome.
Did they ever explain the spaceship at the start that caused the crash and created she-hulk? was the spaceship looking for hulk to take him somewhere? (because later we see hulk in a spaceship) So is she-hulk's origin story that Hulk's Galactic Uber accidently caused a crash and created She-Hulk?
John's sentiments are exactly what the show was criticizing (and spawn all the lovely HulkKing-like comments). Who was the villain? Apparently we missed the entire scene where Jen explained that this show wasn't about the standard superhero formula of "Hero vs Badddie". It was about Jen coming to terms with her dual identity. Hero blood, HulkKing, all that was YAWN. K.E.V.I.N. was the smartest thing they've done in a minute.
I didn't need the formula but I think I would've liked the show if it focused on Jen/She Hulk in the courtroom. Also, I wish Jen had more of a dual identity. Jen and SH were too similar. I know it's not a separate personality but she should at least be more confident and bold in her SH form. SH was accepting just as much disrespect as Jen.
I agree about some of the critiques. I just think it's funny that in the commentary about how to fix the show Rob got his wish and it still did work for him.
The big 4th wall break was EXACTLY like the comics. The thing I remember the most is her breaking out of the panel and skipping to the end of the story. So much that one character skinned his knee on a staple. I can see how the plot driven fan would be frustrated. It's the same with WandaVision. People are so invested in grandiose plots that they can't appreciate smaller stories.
Don't know where to start!!! Seriously ...something went wrong big...this time with this She-hulk series!!! Episode 1 was Decent. Rest all didn't make any sense or add anything to the character. its a waisted opportunity. most of time breaking 4th wall didn't work, the humor was flat. Daredevil was the only good thing happened to this show. And OMG...how they introduced Hulk's Son!!! Seriously!!! Now onwards.... Marvel needs a 'Quality assurance' team to check on Every Disney+ series in future!!
My last rant... I saw the writer's interview... laughy girl. I thought that she portrayed some disdain for "this comicbook movie saga thing"... she was barely coherent and couldn't say a sentence that didn't include "you know?". I saw some executive trashing on the MCU fan and their "high expectations "... we're the problem. The people that buy the tickets and pay for the subscription. What successful business actively tries to dispell the myth that their customers should have high expectations of the quality of their product (shouldn't you be happy that you've earned this and have the profits to prove it?). Who approved these decisions and this script? Who invited these people of low standards into Marvel Entertainment? Why do I suspect that Netflix will prove to be more adept at interpreting Marvel characters after seeing the new Daredevil? (Iron Fist notwithstanding)... Disney needs to pay attention and Feige needs to return to being the Feige we know and revere... Mahurshula Ali shouldnt be the one to have to stand up and identify a trash plan pre-production.
I don’t think it felt flat at all. I think it raised expectations for the MCU, and showed the audience that they’re listening and kind of poking fun at itself through shehulks breaking of the fourth wall.
Out of the 9 episodes, only 4 were good imo. The premiere episode, n the last 3. I’m just glad we can put this show in the rear view, n put all our focus on Wakanda Forever. 💯👏🏼
Netflix did MCU series justice. Punisher, Daredevil were pure gold and now Disney has virtually butchered daredevil. This show was ridiculous. even Iron Fist has been better than the latest MCU series and that's saying a lot.
I think Marvel lost their way after Endgame , I love Marvel don't get me wrong , but since Endgame a few things were real good other are just meh. I hope that they don't screw up Black Panther.
Loved the beginning few episodes. Kinda got disappointed in the middle, because I just felt like it wasn't going anywhere cohesive, though there were some great points. I really enjoyed episode 8...and I absolutely LOVED this finale. It's one of my favorite of the MCU TV show finales so far. Just great.
They had 9 episodes, and EVERY one was garbage. No wonder they've put their film slate back. Phase 4 has been atrocious. Also the twerking scene was one of the worst parts. How he thinks that's funny I'll never know. It seems he's very easily pleased, because the show hasn't been funny once.
@Dev Ames How exactly was this show funny? It's either funny or it isn't, this is the latter. If you find garbage like this funny, then you don't understand how true comedy works I'm afraid.
The premier, Daredevil’s episode and the finale are the best episodes. The season itself was unevenly paced which made watching the show frustrating. Some episodes having pointless and uninteresting B plot’s was a weak point as well. Episode runtimes we’re also short. Daredevil was integrated well and Tatiana was great in her role. Going beyond breaking the 4th wall by going full meta was odd at first but I ended up appreciating it.
The finale was easily the most entertaining episode of the show just for sheer audacity, the daredevil episode was solid, but overall the show has just been really uneven. The character has been fine but the plot really meandered. It’s a bit of a shame, but the stuff from the comic that was always doing silly stuff because they were certain they were about to get canceled just doesn’t translate to being a Disney+ show in the biggest franchise in existence.
The main story was her initial conversation with Bruce. The conflict was her accepting both Jennifer and she hulk. The powers weren't the villian. That's what she was saying to Kevin. She went through the 5 stages of grief per episode.
Really, she didn't accept? What about the end. She accepted that she could be both. Instead of denying she hulk she's both a lawyer and super hero. Which is what Bruce was talking about in the first episode. Those were her stakes. Like she said.
13:10 They did pay off that internal conflict at the very last scene. The way she answered the interviewer shows that she has now embraced her She-Hulk super-heroine persona, and also accepted herself as the talented lawyer Jen Walters, now she can balance her two lives because she has fully accepted them and integrated them.
Ok, this was definitely a weird finale but I’d be lying if I said I didn’t find it funny because I did, seeing Jen leave the show, go to Marvel studios and confront Kevin about the ending did make me laugh, I also thought the intro mimicking the original Lou Ferrigno Hulk show was great, and I do think an ending like the one we thought we were gonna get probably wouldn’t have been as entertaining as this one, although I think it would’ve been funnier if we actually saw Kevin Feige, that’s really the only missed opportunity I feel, I may be alone in this but I don’t care, I loved She Hulk, for me it’s right below Wandavision as my favorite Marvel Disney+ show, Jen was an amazing character, the plot, while nothing huge or earth shattering was entertaining, I thought it was funny and personally while a lot of others might not have I really enjoyed it
A series needs a running through line whether its a story, thematic base, or core episodic structure so its CONSISTENT. Each ep is so disjointed from the other and there is no goal or payoff which is what every great season of every great show has.
@@hankhooper1637 Sure, and deviation in plot, character development and pacing is fine, as per ROP. But this fourth wall stuff, that is literally how the character rolls. It's supposed to be a bit on the nose. The show was certainly flawed but I think some people just don't know what to do with it and so are criticizing. Obviously not for them and that's fine but doesn't mean it's done wrong. The irony of the fans hating on it for the same stuff that the show is deliberately being over the top about...Literally ranting about the Marvel formula, the weak storylines everyone was complaining about the previous week but now are upset that they were abandoned...
@@hankhooper1637 Well, that is where it falls apart. I took it like the old Loony Toons where the character would argue with the artist and things would get erased or changed. Like, Kevin changed things to suit her so she would go away. Which I guess does make her a Karen. Now that *does* make for a poor storyline in this case, but I guess they chose to go for the tongue in cheek approach rather than realism.

Just finished She-Hulk and overall I was disappointed. I think the whole treatment of the series that Jenna encapsulated in one line in the finale when she said the series was a "legal comedy" was completely the wrong approach. It should've been an action adventure with some comedy and legal cases mixed in. This would've been the best approach because the only interesting things that happened in the entire series at all were the introduction of and sequences with Matt Murdock/Daredevil. And the blood collection plot. But even that plot didn't pan out at all because it never led to anything. So I could've just watched the first, eighth, and ninth episodes and not missed a thing. That's not good. Besides that, everything else felt frivolous and non-consequential to anything; not only in the bigger picture of the MCU. But even to her character and the series itself. If they ever do a second season, tons of fat has to be cut out. They have to make things much more eventful, more often. And take a completely new approach to the series by changing it from a legal comedy to an action-adventure with some legalese and comedy in addition. But those aspects would only be in support of. Not in lieu of as it is now.
She Hulk was straight trash!!...I struggled just to finish it. Old Kevin Fiege needs to return and bring great content like before...this 4th phase has been falling time and time again smh....I HOPE Black Panther Wakanda Forever turns this around

In a franchise that constantly feels like it’s busy trying to please everyone, She-Hulk is very much a show that knows who it’s for, and isn’t remotely concerned with pleasing anyone outside that specific sensibility. Honestly, I respect it a lot.
I think this show was more about being a commentary on the MCU as a whole and MCU fans and less about Jen as a character. And that’s why this show might not work for everybody
''l feel this show was inspired by all the buIIying, harasment and deth threats BrieLarson has dealt with in the last couple of years, just to be Captain Marvel.'' Agreed 1000%
To back up what Robert was saying: When Deadpool breaks the 4th wall, it feels like he’s sitting with the audience commenting on the film with the audience as if the audience is a group of his friends. In She-Hulk, Jen occasionally does that, but more often the 4th wall breaking is Jen speaking to the audience as if comic book nerds are idiots or the story itself is below She-Hulk’s own standard. Deadpool poked fun to JOIN the audience discussion. She-Hulk seems to berate the audience itself for even watching. It’s very strange.
The really did waste her character and Jamila is too good and funny an actress for such a waste. That being said, here's to hoping she gets replaced with a variant😆
Rob is right here. Comedies have core concepts that the stories all blossom from. The Addams family was about the craziness of the family. Good Times was about the ups and downs of the family. Cheers was ultimately centered around the bar. What is the core concept of She-Hulk that all the stories bloom out of?
Im a woman, a fan of Marvel since 2008, a lawyer, a feminist, and this show was not funny nor relatable, it was mediocre at everything they did, and the worst show I've seen this year. If I hadn’t payed my yearly subscription I probably would have not watched it (as I only use D+ for their SW and Marvel series) and Im this close 🤏🏼 to not renewing in December.
What was the point of the Titania story line, what was the point of the blood story line? She just shows back up and everything is resolved. How far back was retconned? Her power dampeners are magically gone. Did they also undo him getting her blood? Did the blood just disappear too? Titania just shows up?! Why? I started off loving the episode after that amazing cliff hanger last episode and then half way through… this?! Just so frustrating. We didn’t see her actually be a lawyer or superhero. She did nothing! Ugh I’m so mad! 4th wall is great but it just dragged on too long. Why didn’t they just do a rewind of some sort and then tell the story again. Matt showing back up was clunky too. I think I’m just going to stick to the Avenger movies from now on.
I felt that the season felt so rushed - nothing had time to really breathe. The finale fourth wall break was disorenting because before the finale the breaks were very sporadic and lightly used. I prefer the fourth wall break where Jen is taking us along with her and letting us know her internal struggle. We didnt need the blood plot - all they had to do is focus on her difficulties dealing with her new powers, her life, her being exploited, the strange new world as the legal system grapples with superpowered beings etc... Let that breatheeee dammit lol That said i do hope there is a more focused S2.
Rob said he wanted something, then they did it exactly. Then says he didnt like it but didnt explain how it was different at all. Just said some random words that dont make sense lol
My whole problem with the show, was the waste. The waste of Tatiana Maslany, the waste of Renee Elise Goldsberry, The waste of the Hulk, the waste of the story, the waste of the opportunity, the waste of my time. I defended the show, from the start, saying to give it time, that it would improve. It didn't. I actually think it damaged Marvel. It fed the trolls, but not in a clever way. It actually gave them ammo to attack with. The male characters were all awful caricatures, either idiots or misogynists, apart from Hulk and Daredevil. Marvel needs a break. They need to slow the production line, and look at quality control, because this show was C minus at best.
This was the biggest middle finger of a finale I’ve ever seen. This whole show was a huge misfire.
It's like they couldn't figure out an ending, so they said "screw it, we'll just have her break the forth wall and come back to a resolved story".

This guy gets it!☝🏾
The 4th wall break in last episode was too extreme. Maybe breaking into the Disney+ screen would've worked if it stopped there as a quick gag.
I really liked how the episode opened with a call back to the 70's Hulk show. That was brilliant. Kudos to them.
…. You are mind numbingly hopeless
@@jackjohn4156 Whoa! Good one! I'm sure it took some real Big-Brained contemplation to come up with that zinger. You should write for Marvel.
Did they ever explain the spaceship at the start that caused the crash and created she-hulk? was the spaceship looking for hulk to take him somewhere? (because later we see hulk in a spaceship)
So is she-hulk's origin story that Hulk's Galactic Uber accidently caused a crash and created She-Hulk?
The whole story was Jen accepting being Jen & She-Hulk. If you don't get that I don't know what to say.
Right?

I love the episode. The best 4th wall break I’ve ever seen!
The character going and asking the producers and writers to make her show suck less?? Yeah dude absolute genius
@@RyanFloom if Deadpool did it you’ll eat that up
Don't know where to start!!!
I loved how they showed us the writers room, we can put faces on people who ruined it.
some are actors though
Was Dane Cook in there?
I don’t think it felt flat at all. I think it raised expectations for the MCU, and showed the audience that they’re listening and kind of poking fun at itself through shehulks breaking of the fourth wall.
People thst weren’t predisposed to hate it agree
*Raised expectations* 🤣
Robert.....You're right. And when you're right, you're right. And you, you're always right......
Out of the 9 episodes, only 4 were good imo. The premiere episode, n the last 3. I’m just glad we can put this show in the rear view, n put all our focus on Wakanda Forever. 💯👏🏼
the social commentary was great and the meta was even better.
I give She-Hulk an 8.5/10 .
Had a blast.
I thought the finale was damn brilliant and hilarious 😂
Guys stop holding back, you know you want to say it. This show is utter trash
Netflix did MCU series justice. Punisher, Daredevil were pure gold and now Disney has virtually butchered daredevil. This show was ridiculous. even Iron Fist has been better than the latest MCU series and that's saying a lot.
She-Hulk is Top 10 Marvel for me . Gave me everything I wanted and a few surprises I never saw coming.
Most insane finale ever!!

Just great.
Am I the only one who likes the Netflix Marvel shows over the Disney+ ones so far?
Agree with you totally 👍
Too boring…
They had 9 episodes, and EVERY one was garbage. No wonder they've put their film slate back. Phase 4 has been atrocious. Also the twerking scene was one of the worst parts. How he thinks that's funny I'll never know. It seems he's very easily pleased, because the show hasn't been funny once.
Agreed.
@Dev Ames How exactly was this show funny? It's either funny or it isn't, this is the latter. If you find garbage like this funny, then you don't understand how true comedy works I'm afraid.
The dude who actually stole the blood was just forgotten about.
The dude who stole the blood is irrelevant. He stole the blood for The Hulk King dude and he revealed why he had it stolen.
@@joonyaboonya Not from a legal standpoint. And, this show is supposed to be a legal comedy....
@@joonyaboonya really horrible plot lines

She hulk SUCK, ton opinion suck aussi
The main story was her initial conversation with Bruce. The conflict was her accepting both Jennifer and she hulk. The powers weren't the villian. That's what she was saying to Kevin.
She went through the 5 stages of grief per episode.
That’s it……lmfaooo. I thought that was blatant
😂 she never did accept tho. Ending erased all the story they were telling
@@mr2009patty not all but yes it did get rid of the majority of the villian plot.

Marvel shows keep dissapoiting me, the tone, the writing, the pace, the bad jokes , just painful to watch.
I'm so disappointed of the show. I hated the ending so much. It had so much potential. like Kevin?!!? WTF
Ok, this was definitely a weird finale but I’d be lying if I said I didn’t find it funny because I did, seeing Jen leave the show, go to Marvel studios and confront Kevin about the ending did make me laugh, I also thought the intro mimicking the original Lou Ferrigno Hulk show was great, and I do think an ending like the one we thought we were gonna get probably wouldn’t have been as entertaining as this one, although I think it would’ve been funnier if we actually saw Kevin Feige, that’s really the only missed opportunity I feel, I may be alone in this but I don’t care, I loved She Hulk, for me it’s right below Wandavision as my favorite Marvel Disney+ show, Jen was an amazing character, the plot, while nothing huge or earth shattering was entertaining, I thought it was funny and personally while a lot of others might not have I really enjoyed it
I agree 100%
You’re not alone dude. I LOVE this show. 7/10, 4th fav MCU Disney + show
A series needs a running through line whether its a story, thematic base, or core episodic structure so its CONSISTENT. Each ep is so disjointed from the other and there is no goal or payoff which is what every great season of every great show has.
You can 100% tell who has never read a She-Hulk comic by how they reacted to this finale.
@@hankhooper1637 Sure, in concept. But when has a movie/tv show of a book that decided to 'do it's own thing' ever turned out well?

Meta humor is getting so played out
Just finished She-Hulk and overall I was disappointed.

Robert "John Byrne got it right", John Byrne - had She-Hulk doing the exactly the same thing as this show. Huh
This show was awful, Marvel needs to stop giving mediocre writers all these free will, it just doesnt work.

I absolutely loved that "UFO" episode. First time I had ever seen anything like that.
The social commentary of She-Hulk is a masterpiece
It was a show that wasn't good....
I found it odd how the writers used Titania. She magically showed up either busting through a wall or showing up at the wedding Jen's friend.
The really did waste her character and Jamila is too good and funny an actress for such a waste. That being said, here's to hoping she gets replaced with a variant😆
It's not a legal comedy it's a mcu parody and I like it
That’s the framing
Rob is right here. Comedies have core concepts that the stories all blossom from. The Addams family was about the craziness of the family. Good Times was about the ups and downs of the family. Cheers was ultimately centered around the bar. What is the core concept of She-Hulk that all the stories bloom out of?
The series started out ok and just progressively got worse. Daredevil was the best part. Then it ends with a terrible finale
The series made me feel like what’s the point of it
Im a woman, a fan of Marvel since 2008, a lawyer, a feminist, and this show was not funny nor relatable, it was mediocre at everything they did, and the worst show I've seen this year. If I hadn’t payed my yearly subscription I probably would have not watched it (as I only use D+ for their SW and Marvel series) and Im this close 🤏🏼 to not renewing in December.
I loved it. But... as you guys say, I wish it was better and the funny thing is has the potential to be much much better.
Also didn’t like how Skaar looked and tacked on like that quickly moving on like not a big deal
I didn’t understand why Titania turned up either, but I was excited about a brawl…that never happened.
Feels like the writers didn’t know how to end it and just went with “whatever! it’s marvel, those suckers will accept whatever we put out there”.
@@abjeth To be fair, that last part is true.

She Hulk was awful. Really bad. If this is the direction Marvel is taking Hulks in then they are crazy. Nobody wants to watch crap like this.
Let that breatheeee dammit lol
That said i do hope there is a more focused S2.
