    This game is awesome! I love the original gimmick. But maybe make more bosses have more interaction with the window borders, since smiley seems to be the only boss that really does anything other than needing to be in the window to be hit. This game has a lot of potential, and I'd love to see it get some more attention!

      Emphisise something because this is something good at the beggining won't each time make it better. The game is already good on this state, but it is clear that if you want to expend your public it nead more. Perzonnaly i LOVE the game, i'll play it later !

    There is an interaction with two Smileys where the hands can trap you at the edge of the screen, making it impossible to kill the face if it hides behind your window.

      That is extremely rare, you can always use bellow to increase the window as it is a counter for smileys hands, move to the top where the hands are and shoot against them, you could probably get smiley to show itself that way

      as others have mentioned, there are ways around this. you could also click on the smiley window from the taskbar or alt+tab to it to bring it to focus. you can also click the X button on the taskbar preview for that window to deal damage (these are all normal windows, after all)
      But I don't necessarily expect people to interact with the game in that way, I added a failsafe to the last patch that makes it switch to another stage once enough time has passed.

      small update: sent this to my friend as a joke yesterday, he was so skeptical to the point where he was checking for virusses every few seconds, until he started it and then realized it's just a game. It was really funny though!

    suggestion: heal from shop should scale to max health or start lower and have upgrades through perks

    Might be good to have visual cracks appear in the bosses you kill over and over to indicate that it’s not just infinitely respawning

      I think they are infinitely spawning, they are some kind of draws, so maybe the actual boss just keeps drawing them over and over to kill you

    Such a cool concept done well. Great job!
    Just spouting off random ideas, but what if there was something that created pop-up windows that you couldn’t see behind, making temporary blind spots until either a certain time runs out or you click/move over an [X] on the window.
    Very exited to see where this goes, great job.

    Amazing game!
    A small suggestion: the "drain" thing looks a bit counterintuitive, it requires complicated input but doesn't seem to deal too much damage. Maybe buff it a little?

      Drain, well, drains - gives money from still-not-dead enemies, which is nice as in idea, but just horribly useless in late game.

      with my experience with drain the slow mo really helps me when theres more bullets / enemies than pixels on myscreen

      ​@@nedlmous yeah when I got late game, drain stopped lag (most of the time) and made it super easy to figure out what's going on and dodge stuff, but smiley guy exists :(

    In my fifth playthrough, I survived for an hour and a half and defeated 48 bosses. I found that upgrading the multi-shot with your yellow stars (one star per upgrade) makes it much easier. Get it to around level 12, and you'll be able to easily take down both bosses and minions. It seems that the monsters' health increases less noticeably in the later stages, and sometimes it hardly increases at all. This is why I could play for such a long time. After playing for an hour, the game started lagging severely (fps: 10) due to the overwhelming number of monsters and bullets. Consequently, I had to commit suicide after an hour and a half, ending the game.

    I think the best thing that I want to suggested is make the Window Logo turn it into a final boss, that will be cool and hilarious at the same time

      The game is just the black window, the background is actually a regular background so that wouldn't work

    I think the indicators for some of the bosses distract you from where the player is, and that is a big problem for games that require you to look everywhere to play the game.
    Other than that, sick concept! I like the idea, and it is executed *perfectly*.

    I saw your original Game Jam video and was so impressed! Its such a cool concept and I'm really glad UA-cam recommended this update to me. I also just realised you're the guy behind ssspicy which is a puzzle game i've loved to go back and play for a while now. You have quite the future ahead of you dude.

    Amazing game but I would like a way to select a difficulty so the game isn’t to hard for some people and then too easy for other people but I really hope this gets more attention because it is so fun 10/10

    For a new star ability, add a new window which is a moveable turret with the same upgrades as the player, level 1 turret has players level 1 upgrades, level 2 turret has players level 2 and so on!

    Great choice of breakcore as the music! I like the contrast between calm and crazy fast rhythms; it really adds to the game where you’re shooting things but there’s constantly a window shrinking on you, bosses, etc. Also I just love breakcore and to see it get recognized in a game that isn’t a rhythm game is great

    suggestion: rather than a typical health bar, what if taking damage shrunk the window, and if it gets too small, you lose.

      @@maxifire32Game is too chaotic late game, I was in a 52 minute game there now and it was impossible to NOT take damage. Endgame would lose a lot of potential

      ​@chaosonyoutube3551 taking damage shrinks all walls such that constantly shooting the walls wont be enough to stay alive, and each time you take damage, it increases the shrink strength on subsequent hits until you heal

      ​@curly9138 rather than the health increases and heal 20 shop items, you would have a defence buff that decreases the amount the border shrinks, and a border boost that makes the window slightly larger and makes it not shrink for a short period.
      also, each subsequent hit would shrink it more than the last hit, and would hopefully balance with the defence buff as the game progresses.
      this would however require the bellow ability be replaced or reworked, but having different right click abilities sounds like a fun addition anyway

    I love this! There's some ideas:
    - Maybe add more impact to game over screen, maybe an explosion or slow motion or both?
    - Damage enemies when they hit the player.
    - I don't know if you can but, maybe expand the window when player hits a wall too.
    - A calmer version of the song (or something entirely new) for the shop. Kind of like in ULTRAKILL.
    - Drink more milk.
    - Maybe other primary weapons that you can scroll? I doubt if it would fit the simple style tho...
    - Instead of a health counter, use a gradient on the player window. It is hard to track numbers sometimes. Or at least a bar would be great.

    suggestion: playfield borders (in which player in) should be rendered (thin white stripline for example) in other tabs (like peer and drain) so it would be less confusing why you can't go further

    Absolutely love it! Only suggestion I have is settings to accommodate for different screen resolutions (so the game can be played at a consistent scale) .

    I have an idea for a boss, what if there was a boss that's only visible when the window is minimized? You have to minimize the game window in order to see the boss and then maximize the game window again to shoot where you last saw it when you minimized the window

    This game is awesome, so glad it got an update!
    the game got more chaotic though and made it a bit hard to breathe for players so in implementation of waves might give the players more breathing room, also some cool power up ideas that would make this more forgiving would be:
    shield that breaks
    a slowmo ability that slows down everything beside yourself (and your bullets) for a brief period
    and maybe more options for weapons like a lazer beam you can use one time just so you can quickly clear out a bunch of enemies

    I downloaded the game an hour or two ago and managed to get a run with 13 bosses killed in half an hour. To say the least, this is a very addicting game! One problem i found is that after a little while, the popups for bosses that show their location eventually stop showing all together. This is a huge inconvenience when it happens to the smiley boss as you wont be able to kill it for the rest of the game while it hinders your window size quite frequently. Other than that, the game runs surprisingly smoothly, even later when there are essentially hundreds of objects in a window at once! Im glad to have found this game!

    Feels like the drain and the peer window doesn't give you anything to play with
    Like how are you going to play with the drain window to make it do things for you
    Maybe it could be a black hole that eats enemies, so you can dance around it to make enemies fall into it
    The peer window could be more like a zone that blind enemies so they can't go for you and cannot attack you
    + you can hide in it and only enemies that are near can see you
    Give the player more decision making more than "more attack speed, more health, multishot"
    The right click skill could be something like: The big bang
    You use it to expand the space around you
    The window get bigger, the enemies get pushed out
    Enemies far from you get pushed out no matter how big they are, but the closer they are the less they get pushed
    Your bullets get pushed out too so that is kinda interesting tho, science people will love it
    Or: You just play on slow-mo
    But rn that skill just expand your window... but you really don't care if your window is smaller, you just buy wall punch and forget about it
    What about buying little drones that support you / gives you utility
    I mean its fine if they shoot enemies too... but that's boring
    I'm thinking on a drone that taunts enemies to make them follow the drone and not you
    Of course for X amount of time + a cooldown
    You can chose a single drone for an entire game, etc etc

    This games comes very close to something that was in my mind since a long time, but I never realised it, except of one very lazy attempt.

    This game looks really cool and creative!
    I'm not sure if this was mentioned before but I feel like it would be good if some of enemies/projectiles had different colors.
    mainly anything white since the player is already white, but also maybe the blue, yellow, gray and light green non boss enemies since they don't look very threatening compared to red, purple and poison/slimy green.
    Other than that, looks like an amazing game and I can't wait to see where it goes from here!!

    Some ideas:
    1) Once you defeat a boss a mini-version of the boss starts appearing as a new enemy
    2) Some boss that u have to use the minimize windows feature, something like a Sauron Eye that you have to make him blind by minimizing it so you can damage it
    3) At the end screen show points so players can measure better

    I remember seeing the original video, and not even having seen the whole video, I can already tell that a lot of polish was added and many little things changed, such as a drop for special abilities. It also seems way smoother, which was a big problem in V1. Bravo, keep doing what you're doing man!

    1) make the character stand oout more imo
    2) allow risky plays by CLICKING OFF AND DRAGGING THE WINDOWS MANUALLY AS WELL
    that'd be sick
    3)incorporate other parts of the desktop/ui, like for example having pickups be desktop icons

    What about a secondary rechargeable perk, such as a bomb that deals damage to all enemies on the main window? It could also slow down bosses too. But man, this game look so fun, unique, and well-executed! Great job man!

    I really like the fact that the octagon enemies can also take damage from you shooting the walls they cling to, provides an incentive to shoot the walls

    This is an extremely visually and thought out concept thus far. I'm extremely excited to see what comes next. The current aesthetic and considerations for visual design incredible and not lost on me. Just as well the gameplay loop and rising intensity that is still challenging and engaging while still being forgiving and small ways is satisfying as is, but maybe a few tweaks would be nice. I'd also love to mention that the boss design and the very original concept or at least implementation is kinda amazing. There are so many great ideas here its hard to list them all. I'd like to suggest that there some kind of additional focus on 2 aspects however, one being a sense of progression between runs through some kind of story or exploration system if you're still feeling ambitious. On the other hand if you just want to nail down what's here with a tweak that will sit well with most everyone, I suggest adding variants of enemies, especially bosses. Also implement as many cool new and interesting ways for the system to be interacted with. Maybe make a sort of mega enemy that tries to break the window, maybe its could be part of the "story" that they're a sorta anti-villian that is "helping". I guess just do you, you seem pretty original anyways, best of luck!

    i really love it, i would even pay for a game like this, its really clever and i didnt even know you could do something like this in godot, small problem tho is that the windows sometimes get hidden behind the main window for example the emoji boss being hidden under the main window (windows 11)

    I love this, idea for an attack for some boss is tons of windows fill the entire outer edges of the screen, but they are all slightly different to what the boss actually looks like and there is only one real one that needs to be x’d out of. Perhaps you can even introduce the attack with something easy to spot and and with later attacks increase the similarities/amount of windows

    Add an end game boss where you empty the recycle bin and you have to fight a kraken or something that gives you full screen window but the window randomly resizes into smaller sizes that you can traverse and you have to lets say get keys or destroy cores or something to drop the bosses shield to damage his HP directly. Obviously having an HP bar at the top of the screen too. Could be sweet.
    And maybe the only way to get to final boss is by collecting keys from each boss before and spending your credits to enter the boss stage.
    Even something like changing the background of the windows to progress to harder stages could be cool. 5000 per level change maybe. And itll increase the amount of enemies or maybe increase their overall HP.
    Just some ideas for you. Game looks amazing and addictive as is. Much love ❤

    I forgot that I watch all videos on 2x speed while watching this. I was convinced you were slowing the in-game time down to be able to survive at some parts. Now that everything is normal speed, it definitely looks like something I could play too lol

    You're a very creative gamedev! I've never seen window properties get pushed to their limits as much as this game does that!
    I hope this game gets really popular, because it seems like a game that genuinely deserves it for this good of an execution of such mechanic :)

    Also here's a suggestion: What about making an upgrade called "Minimum Window Size"? Pretty self expanatory, it increases the minimum window size that it can shrink to.

    This game is so good. The worm boss reminds me a bit of nova drift, or maybe jsab. The main mechanic of the game makes it so fun, since it’s so unique. Love it. My best after a couple tries is like 16 mins.
