I’ve said it before, but i’ll say it here: Yes, this song was indeed inspired by Scissor Sisters’ song I Cant Decide. I felt as though the Monika-Senpai conflict reminded me of 2010s era animations that commonly used it as background music, so i wanted to pay homage to it.
This song made me want so much more out of Senpai's story. I love the idea of him teaming up with the Spirit and learning about the true nature of his world... but still being a hopeless romantic at heart, and immaturely trying to follow Monika still, only to take the rejection badly. It makes me think of the brat guy from Megamind, this immature incel getting superpowers and using them to chase down a woman. Even if this was the final update and I know there won't be more, I'd absolutely love to see more of the Spirit guiding Senpai to getting revenge on Boyfriend and Daddy Dearest, while Senpai still unsuccessfully tries to chase Monika.

Idk why but only now I've noticed that at 1:08 you can faintly hear sound that's used in Week 6 when Spirit breaks out of Senpai's body. Nice detail! Also love how instrumental has mix of Senpai's tracks mainly and DDLC motifs too. Love how there are *I Can't Decide* motifs too. You did amazing job on all the tracks you've done but this one is probably my most favorite one

Honestly, my interpretation of the story following this is that Senpai finally gets the message and tries his best to move on for Monika’s sake (it doesn’t really work but he pretends he’s moved on), and when Monika eventually realizes that the player doesn’t love her as much as she loves them (otherwise they wouldn’t have deleted her), Senpai doesn’t really know what to say, but tries to help her try to move on in the same way he did. Part of him is happy that maybe he might have a chance now, but every other part of him is disgusted by that. Idk still ship them I want them to find happiness together and move on from unhealthy obsessions
