I think the Turbo S is a great car, probably the best every day supercar one can buy, but its probably redundant in your collection. If I were Schmee, I'd wait for the release of the GT3 RS or if they come out with a GT2 RS as these would be better Ring cars. Buy as LHD and leave in Germany.
Watching DragTimes I'm pretty sure the 720s is a bit quicker in the 1/4? The Turbo S does about 10 seconds flat. The 720s was high 9's? Unless i'm confused?
I took possession of mine 3 weeks ago. Mine is the same color as the one you are reviewing. I owned several C7 Z06 Corvettes and and a second generation R8. The Audi was a great car, but the 992 is on a different level. It’s so easy to drive and incredibly comfortable. I took my 15 year old daughter to Orlando last week. We drove straight from Washington DC. My daughter is learning how to drive and has a permit. She drove the 992 for six hours and had a smile the entire time. She stated that it was easier to drive than her 2018 VW Bug. My 18 year old daughter can’t wait to take it to the drag strip. My wife loves driving it. She never drove the Audi or the corvette.
This is what I like about Porsche, no gimmicky BS in the cabin..pure driving pleasure, not unlike my F80 M3, all function and not too much to figure out...
If you are round LA, I can only recommend the "Latigo canyon road", I go there every time I go to LA. Nice road, not much trafic, technical enough to be concentrated... Love it
I don't think Shmee will see or like my comment, The car is awesome and I cant wait for you to do a where's Shmee UK Edition and come to Glasgow and meet you but your GT500 is soo good and the cars you see and get to drive are soo amazing and you inspired me to love cars and learn about cars LOVE YOUR CONTENT PLZ NEVER STOP
@Fraser67 I am considering getting this car and obviously the biggest gripe about it is the exhaust note. I will have to wait to hear it in person, but I imagine it is better than most people think. Yes, it wont be as loud or emotional as an F8 or Huracan Evo, but in a way the sound fits the characteristics of the car. Is that fabspeed exhaust worth 5K? It's subjective, but I'm on the fence about it.
@@kennedyabington9408 the American version of the 992 turbo s is much louder than it sounds on video. I did a review on it, with revs and driving. I’ll be posting more videos, but trust me if you have PSE the turbo s sounds way better than expected. You won’t be disappointed, it’s louder than the 992 Carrera👍🏻
From an engineering POV, that car is a marvel. But from your video of how effortlessly it reached top-speed and how there was no drama, I doubt if I had the money to buy supercars, I'd buy this over a Ferrari or Lambo.
Could you please share more details on the roads you were driving on in this video? Back in 2017, I rented a Carrera S in LA and drove the Angeles Crest Highway which was a lot of fun and once the current situation is more or less over, I'm looking forward to going back and driving more canyon roads around the LA area. :)
with all due respect, this video failed to show how much of a beast this car is in a straight line and its launch control. Because it's basically the best car in the world for that at the moment. Obviously, this was a very nice road to drive the 911 and it looked amazing, but you should've included some 0-100 times and maybe somewhat of a drag race.
im more of a muscle car, jdm, kind of guy but man, i entered that giveaway right away. this car is amazing. literally been watching all the races carwow does with this car and it blows my mind how fast it is !
BD14Cameron PCH is great. Just go north of LA, you’ll drive by Malibu and get to Monterey. Carbon Canyon is inland, but you’d have to go when there’s less traffic. PCH around Palos Verde is beautiful as well. That’s south of LA. If you have a trackable car, Willow Springs and Buttonwillow are two places to track your car. 2 and 4 hours north of LA. If you want to test your top speed, you can go to Vegas. There a long straight stretch on a dried river bed on the way. You’ll see a huge solar farm on the way. But, I didn’t tell you to go faster than the law allows. Drive to San Diego and it’s along the ocean for half of the way. Just north of San Diego is LaJolla (pronounced La Hoya). It’s similar to the south of France. Happy driving.
BD14Cameron if you’re in SO Cal, just look up Angeles Crest Highway. I believe that a chunk of it is closed for construction at the moment though so check maps first. That’s the big car car driving road you hear about most. Connects to other good driving roads as well. Then as someone else mentioned the usual PCH/Highway 1.
Other than as a charity offering, it all seems overpriced when you consider a front lifter, carbon fiber, full bolster bucket seats, cruise control, sunroof, lane assist, are all extras. Rear seat delete is $10340 in the US! Microfiber cleaning wipe is $21. No freebies for $250K I guess. My favorite medical cartoon: what is it Doc? You might have something on this xray. What is it? Four or five Porsche payments...sorry I mean....

While the 992 is a better car in every way, more refined and comfortable for daily driving, I can’t help but like the 991.2 more. I’m lucky enough to be able to drive these cars and there’s just something so much more special feeling about the 991 compared to regular Carreras (unlike 992). The 991 is also more visceral and exciting imo. And still very fast, even stock. While more muted on video, I prefer the sound as well. That being said the 992 Turbo S is an incredible car and it’s tied for the spot of ultimate 911 with the GT3 depending on what you want. I’d LOVE to have one!
All you have to do is look at the business-class interior and know that the 911 Turbo is grand tourer built for everyday driving. It’s meant to NOT stand out, compared to the generally over-styled Italian super cars.
The McLaren? Please tell me why? Besides more radical look we know the speed is equal or anyting the Porsche Turbo S beats McLaren 0 to 60 2.3 seconds and 1/4 Mile in 10.2 seconds. Yikes. Stopping the Porsche wins. What I'm a missing unless you want to be a flashy asshole
