Thank you!! Can't wait to try this out. I have never done anything with macrame or rope.. but I picked up some beach driftwood to use as a plant hanger from my ceiling. Do you happen to know which cord is appropriate for hanging this from ceiling? I was checking out your etsy shop but do not know!
Most people use anything from a 3-6mm macrame cord to make a plant hanger. Usually the bigger and heavier the pot the thicker you will want your cord. For a medium to large sized pot I would recommend a 5mm cord, for a small pot 3mm, either will work great for hanging from ceiling. I love the look of a good quality braided cord for plant hangers but a triple strand twisted cord (the one that looks like standard rope) is pretty standard and more affordable, it would also go with the beachy look of the driftwood so there really isn't a wrong choice between braided and twisted. I would suggest finding a plant hanger tutorial you like for a plant hanger that will fit the pot you have in mind and then order a cord similar to the one in the tutorial, making sure it is at least the same width in mm. Make sure you have your pot handy while you are making your hanger so you can make sure the hanger will fit your pot as you go. Good luck!
