I'm English, and you have to have a strong builders cuppa lol . Waiting to hear news of your little bundle of joy ,a girl is a treasure .brill vid see you next time x
Different camp site for sure and I've experienced camping in the mud myself years ago. Glad to see Victoria and a glimpse of your kitchen! Hope all is well.
Another Super Thanks for you Abel. A little muddy under foot mate and I imagine not the most pleasant camp for you, although you are in your element when the weather is at its worst. 4 cheeseburgers mate. I don't think even in my younger days that I could compete with you. It was so good to see and hear Victoria on the video after such a long absence. She is positively glowing in her pregnancy. Just a few weeks to go and your whole life will change. For the better I might add. Sons are great but daughters wrap their Dads around their little finger. And we wouldn't have it any other way. Great camp Abel and I'm not even mentioning your cup of tea. Looking forward to the next one.
@@AbelandVictoria try and stay out of the mud on this next one mate. A bit of forward planning before you pitch the tent. LOL. Cant wait to watch your efforts.
Wow, what an intense camping experience! 🌧️❄️ Your resilience and determination in such harsh conditions are truly inspiring. The way you managed to set up camp, cook, and stay positive despite the heavy rain and snow showers is commendable. Thanks for sharing this adventure with us, Abel & Victoria! Can’t wait to see what you tackle next. Stay safe and keep exploring! 🏕️🔥
Well that was a muddy camp! As a Brit I can safely say tea should be stronger than that 😉 Good to see Victoria again, you are positively glowing! Great video!
You’re One of my favorite channels. Love all your content. It feels like a friend and Victoria makes it feel like family. Congratulations on all your blessings and keep the good times rolling!!!
Abel, so many UA-cam videos about camping are set in the Northern hemisphere where winter conditions can be severe, Your fellow kiwis and we aussies that follow you are delighted with what you do,. Pete. Melbourne. Aust.
Jesus no no no!! You have been severely lied to!! We call the perfect tea “builders tea”. Strong!!! Leave the teabag for about a minute in the water and then a dash of milk. 👌🏻 perfect!
Carry an earth clamp and an earth rod, and connect the clam to the rod when you have driven it into the ground outside the tent, and run the clamp from the rod to the stove inside. That chimney will make a fine lightning rod if you do not keep it discharged.
It was good to see Victoria glowing. Tell her she's been missed. You guys are going to be great parents. Good luck with the new little one and just to set the record straight tea is best cold loaded with sugar :)
Love your hobnob into the tea as that made my day you have no idea and those burgers looked amazing. Good luck for your delivery Victoria and exciting times ahead with a beautiful baby girl about to arrive.
Great adventure! Thanks for taking us along. That tent was a perfect choice for this one. You got hit with everything this time... Rain, Sleet, Snow, and Thunder. Looks like you probably had a lot of equipment clean up when you got back home. Thanks again for another great video. Cheers!
Hi Abe l, so nice to see Victoria in this video. She looks absolutely radiant and blossoming like a beautiful rose. I wish you both all the best on the upcoming addition to your family. I know you will be absolutely blessed out of your socks by your daughter. There is a special bonding with them that we men won’t experience with any of our sons.
Great video, and it's good to see Victoria and get updates on your fabulous life in NZ . The weather is so changeable, similar to how I remember it in the UK Have a great week, and I look forward to your next adventure
I really love to catch each of your videos as they come out. I do have a suggestion for you, when you think it's going be real wet or muddy you should put a layer of soft branches or brush down before your bedding. Trust me, it'll save you lots of misery. I hope it all works out better next time. I was very happy to see your wife. Even though she wasn't camping with you it was nice to see her. Hopefully her and the baby can do a short camp with you soon.
I hope you continue to do hot tent camping….i really enjoy the coziness of the stove. I live in the PNW so rain is part of camping in this area so you learn to love i!
I really Love your channel. I am watching from Hiram, Georgia USA. Thank you for your hard work. We love Victoria please include her in as many videos as possible. You make my life so much happier.
Abel, you handled that campsite so well. That was such a muddy mess. It just gets on everything. But you handled it so well with 4 fantastic looking cheeseburgers for dinner and those fantastic pancakes for breakfast. Interesting when you described how those fronts come in one after another. Great to see Victoria!! Thanks for grinding through that campsite!!
It's rough being in the mud. Everything is a mess but despite that, it was still a great camp! It was great to see Victoria! I know she is ready to welcome your new baby. Being pregnant is a wildly wonderful thing, where you're most glad to see the end of as you grow more and more uncomfortable. I love watching Xander, Max, and Lost Lakes as well. Canada has more extreme temps. Maybe one day, you guys can do a collaboration. I see you guys trying a hot tent and hoping it isn't too hot. New Zealand seems fairly mild. I suppose if you go further South your temps will get colder. I saw Tony go to Mt. Cook he nearly got snowed in. Excellent camp, I think you should make your tea the way you like to drink it and other people should do the same.
Another brilliant video abel, was lovely to see and hear an update from Victoria, love the hot tent camping, personally its my favourite to see even better when your in a storm, not sure about your location with the tent but truth be told it made it exciting to see how you delt with it, keep up the awesome content
Nice camping trip... muddy but nice. Yes, NZ looks/is really cool. On my bucket list to visit someday. Love your adventures. My best to Victoria and the baby.
You need a high wind/rain cap for your stove for better draft. I modified a 4” VacuStack to fit the 3.5” winnerwell pipe. Snow, wind, rain… no problems with draft.
Hey Abel! Although the location got really muddy, it wasn't too bad. Food looked delicious as always and thankfully you had your truck nearby in case of an emergency.
That’s glamping compared to the summer and school break camping our family of four did in the 1960s and 70s, almost always enroute to some educational destination. Our tent was made of Army canvas which leaked at the seams, it always rained or sleeted, our sleeping bags got soaked and never dried out, and we didn’t have in-tent heat. Gortex, Velcro, and polar fleece hadn’t been invented. I don’t even remember raincoats or bug spray. With the exception of all the earwigs at daybreak, it was so much fun. Mom made fabulous shrimp curry with rice and beans and franks in a cast iron pan on a pit fire, and we inhaled the ocean breezes or forest clearing air.
Loved the weather. Victoria you are glowing. Down to the nesting period. Abel you need a rubber mat. I love my teabag seaped a few minutes. Then cream. Thanks for the adventure. Disabled old nurse. Kentucky USA
As Tony would say.... That was rather a grim camp, but good, as always. Victoria is so sweet I just had to see how she was doing. I would imagine you have to keep your camping pretty close to home now, & stay within good cell phone range at all times I remember those days!
Croatian here. I prefer coffee over the tea but would never go camping without tea 😂 tnx for an upload, I was watching your vids lately. Looking forward for a fresh content
Sheesh mate, ya opened a can of worms with the tea tips! (PG tips the best🤣if ya know ya know, tea Mr Shifter) High ground high ground always high ground, camping is like warfare is my motto, wind cover and high ground, plus I like to be the king of my tent castle, just my 2c fwiw, also Tent that size if I'm still with my truck I go stretcher but I do prefer the ground, but its easier to swing out when ya have to get up and wake up eek, or creak. I am loving the hot tent camping and looking forward to using mine, though may have missed the snow, due to some knee injuries I'm suffering through this winter😂 Hate getting older, s*** catch's up😬 Great to see Victoria and the new one doing well and ya still adventuring, keep up the great work, you have to get Tony on Brioche buns, can never go back now, also I couldn't do 4, maybe 3 on a good day after a hard yakka. Cheers🤘
I’ve just got back to NZ after visiting family in the UK. They were very concerned about the fact that I now like my tea more milky. There were serious discussions had! Been laughing a lot through this particular video, so thanks for that!

I don’t know what kind of Englishman told you that we like tea like that. 🏴
I know right 😂 mines just a dash of milk, nice and dark 😂
Agreed, I want the tea as dark as my soul if I have a splash of mlk.
anaemic tea 😂....I'd prefer mine with more of a tan 👌
I leave my teabag in hot water for 2 mins. Not much milk perfect cuppa 😊

Ditto; also a great video. Compared to the bulky canvas tents I used in my youth, I am amazed how such large modern tents pack into such a small bag.
