    I prefer the navy blue for the outside as it looks more professional but the burgundy passport for the colourful, patriotic pages 😀

    I still have my old British passport from when I was a baby. It's navy also but not made of plastic, some kind of harder material.
    I've gone full circle, I'm due to get the new blue passport. Man I feel so old lol

    The difference, the new cheap looking one, is a pound shop version of our old ones, essentially 27 x less powerful than our EU ones, you know, the ones where you could work, retire, live with no restrictions, cost or bureacracy in our closest neighbours countries....

      Bro, Irish passport is Number 1. If you only look at number of visa free countries, that's only apply to travelling. However, Irish passport holders can settle, study and travel in any EU country without limitation. Also, Irish passport holders have full citizen rights when living in the UK.

    Thanks for showing this passport. I got my passport today. I was immediately afraid that my passport was damaged.
    On the main page where your photo is shown. My photo appears to have scratch marks/lines across my photo. I noticed that yours is the same. So I'm guessing they're all like that.
    Thanks

    Having a British Passport used to be something to be proud of, now they give them to everyone and anyone. I'm ashamed to have a British passport now that everyone and anyone in the world can have one, Thank God I have an Irish Passport, I don't want to be associated with a British Passport, it's not even British anymore.

      Tony, you got to ask yourself why the authorities are doing that. Ultimately they get the final say.... They could easily turn around and say no to people, even after people have spent thousands on fees and tests etc to get citizenship.
      Bottom line is countries like UK, France, Canada, Germany, Australia etc have very low birth rates amongst their white populations. A country cannot advance if their population falls below the replacement rate 2.2. It goes into terminal decline.
      Look at Japan for instance, they sell more adult nappies then childrens nappies, entire villages are in ruins with no one to move in etc just single old people. Japan is sitting on a pension time bomb. All Mostly because native japanese don;t have enough children and the authorties don't want foreigners (who generally have more kids).
      That's the fate that awaits many EU countries with fertility rates averaging just 1.61 in 2021.
      Bottom line is people need to have more kids or govts are compelled to bring in foreigners to make up the defecit in the population.

      @@sidkings That may be true for Germany, but not the UK. Anyway, what's the point in flooding the country with immigrants when we don't have the basic necessities like housing, doctors, enough roads to cope with the millions of extra cars etc. For the first time in history, living standards are going backwards and all because of immigration. All these immigrants will regret coming soon, all the native born Brits I know are leaving, heading for Ireland, Australia, basically anywhere else. In 100 years the UK will be a virtual third world country with no ethnically British people left.

    • @sidkings

      @@AntoinMhicArtain In terms of housing, it's the private sector that's largely to blame. Sitting on land for years and not developing it. Restricting the supply of homes increases the value of their existing assets and therefore anyone else who owns a home. It keeps Conservative voters happy too. (Wealth effect)
      Councils stopped building homes due to Thatcher's right to buy policy which saw millions of homes sold at a discount and then not replaced. That was a huge factor in lack of homes, not immigrants, not all of whom are poor by the way. Many are loaded, like people from Hong Kong, who somehow are just as British as you are... Colonial legacy...
      I have colleagues that have left Australia, South Africa, NZ and Canada to settle in the UK... Anyone leaving UK generally moves to Spain or South of France.
      Canada and Australia housing affordability is considerably worse than UK.

    • @AntoinMhicArtain
      @AntoinMhicArtain 2 роки тому

      @@sidkings Whether new immigrants are rich or poor is besides the point, there just isn't enough room. I agree 100% with you about the private housing sector and Thatcher's right to buy scheme, which in my opinion was one of the worst cases of social security vandalism is history, if not the worst. Also, race had nothing to do with what I'm saying, although cultural differences are a negative, the Balkanization of the UK (and Europe in general) will inevitably lead to war eventually, alot of immigrants have very different beliefs and they want the world to share those beliefs, even willing to kill and die to make it happen. The civil war in Yugoslavia will look like a picnic compared to the war that's coming to Europe and the UK.

    • @sidkings
      @sidkings 2 роки тому +1

      @@AntoinMhicArtain European nations are sovereign, they control their own borders and make their own policies. There are billions of people who would like to have s better life in Europe. They cannot be blamed for wanting to live s better life, leaving Asia or Africa... The fault lies squarely with govts that are unable to control their borders and have effective migration policies.
      It's govt failure, but like I say. I also think it's govt policy to let in a certain number of people each year, legally or otherwise to offset a shortage in workers, professionals etc.. there's a reason why half the NHS is made up of migrants. They're the only ones prepared to do those tough shifts.
      Many of those houses are bought by rich foreigners who have never set foot in the UK by the way. Entire apartment blocks purchased but with no residents. The govt COULD do something to resolve that, but they won't, as it will reduce income for the treasury.
