Best of luck. They will push you. Stay mentally strong and don’t give up. Take the mindset of, “you’ll have to kick me out if you want me out.” Be ready for a tough 10 weeks. You can do it!
Just found your channel scrolling here. I am a 35 yrs old female. About to join the Navy the ending of this year 2024. I am all set. And I don't care. Everybody joins for personal reasons. The younger kids always fresh out of High School join for college purposes. Because they dunno themselves obviously. They're still kids. People our age at least know what they want the next step in life. If going through some crisis. AKA: Divorced, Children & Benefits. There shouldn't be no judgements at all. Regardless what age you join. Because you're trying to be a better person. It's what matters the most. BTW you're lucky starting the OCS route. Because everybody starts Enlisted including myself. I know each branch has their own requirements to become an officer. It's not easy neither with ranks over the years.
I completely agree. I think joining at our age has the advantage of knowing what you want and why you are doing it. Keeping the why in mind becomes crucial when you are going through the entry level training. They why will keep you going. Best of luck at boot camp and thank you for the comment!
I hope you're trying to come in as an officer instead of enlisted. As far as enlisting goes, I would say don't do it at that age. If you insist on going enlisted in the Army at that age, I would strongly recommend enlisting in the Air Force instead.
I don't know why this came up for me, I joined when I was 17. But it's funny since I'm 31 about to be 32 and I've been out for 10 years now. I know for damn sure that my body wouldn't be able to recover from the punishment like it was able to back then if I went back in. The harsh reality us senior citizens need to come to terms with now. lol
Thanks for your content. How hard it to get an age waiver at 30-31? I want to go to Marine Corp OCS. I'm a Classic Major with 1 semester left. 3.6-3.7GPA. In terms of fitness I've taught Thai Boxing and am part of my universities' Wrestling Club. Thanks so much again. Also is there an email I can contact you at? I would appreciate if you could help me with further questions I have.
Thank you for your videos. I’m currently enlisted in the Air Force. However, I actually want to commissioned into the Marine once my contract expired. I’ll be 32-33 around that time. I’m wondering is it possible or not (I’m thinking of the Reserve route instead of active duty)
Man I’m really considering going back in. Not the corps again but this time the army. Would love to do officer route. I’m 30 this year but will be 31 when I graduate. I’m nervous and been telling myself it might not happen.
I'm glad I found this video. Im 35 and an attorney. I want to join as a JAG reserve, but I assumed I couldn't get a waiver because I'm 6 years over the limit, so I'm applying to the Airforce. This video definitely has me rethinking.
The culture of the AF is probably much different than that of the Marine Corps. So maybe not all of my negatives apply. I would not rule it out if I were you!

I highly recommend so long as you have a strong “why.” For me, it was my 3yo son

So glad I found your channel - I'm considering USMC reserves at age 30 and your videos are so helpful. Are you reserves or AD?
I'm active duty. What questions or video ideas do you have?
@EduardoLima Can you do a video about Jag, such as the school and your duties. Also If you know any JAG reservists and their duties.
Damn dude this channel is perfect for me. Really appreciate you putting all of this stuff up. Keep it up brother.

True
Believe it or not, I went to MC OCS at 33 as a prior, and had a hard time adapting. I made it, but it was hard dealing with younger people.
I felt this.
