hahaha, because it depends on the size of the mold, the larger side gets really heavy and if you try and dip it the cake likes to fall off the stick. :)
I totally agree too!if I saw someone in my kitchen smashing up cake I would think it’s going to turn out in too a sweet treat I wouldn’t be grossed out
Can you bake cake and stick in oven vs using the cake pop method of mixing cake with frosting? I don’t like the cake to be saturated with frosting. Appreciate advice.
Bake the cake , then sweat it with foil for about 30 minutes, then when cool you can’t wrap in plastic wrap for 6 to 8 hours … makes the cake moist , then mix and form balls. I never tried with frosting but I think I may try , I think kids may like
Thank you, Cindy! Yes you can freeze the cakesicles. You can either freeze them before they are dipped after after they are dipped. Once the chocolate coating has set, remove them and wrap them in individual plastic bags and freeze for 3 to 4 months. :)
@@inthekitchenwithmatt Thank you thank you soooo much🥰 I would guess the same would go for the cakesicles as well.. what would be the best way to thaw especially when they have fondant decorations , thank you again for the wonderful tutorial
Yes you certainly can, although it will created a flat side that is uneven, whatever side is resting on the silicone mat. Yes it dries pretty fast, depending on what kind of chocolate you use. :)
great video! quick question, whenever i dip my cakesicle into the chocolate i end up with clumps on my cakesicle if that makes sense? do you know how i could prevent that or what i’m doing wrong?
Yes, that makes sense, and there really isn't much you can do about it. You can try chilling the cakesicle longer, so less of it flakes off into the chocolate. Or the other way is to use the "painting" method, like I show in the video, which takes longer, but you don't dip anything, so the chocolate stays pure. :)
In The Kitchen With Matt oh no i meant the chocolate clumps onto the cakesicle, my cakesicle doesn’t fall apart lol but my chocolate doesn’t coat nice and smooth like yours did in the video when you did the dipping method :( i really wanted to ace the dipping method cause the painting method does take long sadly
@@marissamoniquenunez5631 ahh okay, yeah because sometimes crumbs from the cake falls into the chocolate while dipping, creating a less than smooth chocolate. What kind of chocolate are you using? You can try adding a couple teaspoons of shortening or vegetable oil to it when melting it, which will help it be really thin. Or use CandiQuik, which is my favorite dipping chocolate to use.
Hi there, thank you for your Fabulous Tutorial. I cannot find any *coloured chocolate* like the blue you have, we can only find white and dark chocolate. What can be substituted for various colours please 😁
Hi Vanessa, those are called "candy melts". If you have a cake decorating store or baking store, they might have them there. Or you can find them on Amazon. You can try adding food coloring to the white chocolate as well.
Thanks ever so much, I live in a little town so not much available, would you suggest a gel colouring? I thoroughly enjoyed your tutorial it was simple and to the point! 😁 Have an Awesome Week!
Sure! No you can use a melting pot or a double boiler, which is just a bowl, usually metal on top of a pot with some water. Set the heat on the burner to medium, and as the water heats the steam hits the bottom of the bowl gently melting the chocolate. I normally use the microwave, because it is faster. But you can melt the chocolate however you like. :)
Yes you can use butter cake but you still need to add frosting to the cake crumbs. Yes you can use cooking chocolate or add food coloring to normal white chocolate.
Not sure what you mean by that. I have three cupcake videos already. Vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry. :) Do you mean pull apart cupcakes? Where on the bottom they are cupcakes, and on the top it looks like one cake?

Those people that were grossed out by you not wearing gloves have obviously never worked in a kitchen... Gloved hands are not necessarily clean hands.
I totally agree, Amanda! :) :) In fact gloved hands can be more dirty, if you don't change them regularly, haha.
