Duck alum and Homer here. Love the show Spencer! One journalistic thought, you tend to answer your own questions prior to a response. I know we’re all REALLY high on Oregon this year, but maybe less “we’re so good in that area, what are you going to do”… and more of letting the guest formulate their own conclusions. Again, love what you’re doing.. Just envisioning years down the road when maybe we aren’t the #1 team and we have less flex (hopefully no time soon 🤞🏼). 🦆🦆🦆
Love your show Spencer! Even though Oregon is number 1 that doesn’t mean anything, Oregon has to prepare and be ready for war every time they step on the field. Just like the PAC12 if the Ducks weren’t locked in and ready against a 5-5 ASU or WSU even Arizona they would sometimes leave with a loss. The big10 is a great conference and no team can be overlooked
@@LockedOnOregonDucksDan lanning is the X factor in every game players have to play but Dan will have players playing well in the right spot at right time and that includes the oc and dc The right play calls from dr stein keeps the offense constantly consistent it’s a great coaching staff all around
Hey Spencer. Good show, really like the respectful, informative conversation with Ryan. You mentioned UW in 2 weeks, and how we lost 2 games by 6 pts last year. Go back a year and it's 3 games by 9 pts. We gotta win by way more than 9 to reestablish our position in the PNW.
Second straight team coming off a bye before they play Oregon in a row. Ouch.... That's a not of a test... I do think that Oregon probably covers this well though. We'll see
That is a very very good point! I think that’s why we didn’t look like normal against Maryland. Two weeks to prepare for a team you are going to need to switch things up otherwise they will know everything you will be running
How much stock can you put into Maryland being more “difficult” of an opponent since they were coming off a bye? Can we expect something similar from Wisconsin? Also, how the heck is Oregon the only team in the Big 10 to play 8 straight weeks of conference opponents AND have their final two (technically three) games have their opponents coming off of bye weeks?
Can Oregon's defense stop the run? The answer is yes it can, but that is not what it's base structure is intended to do. In order to be truly effective against the run, we have to somewhat "unmintify" the defense a bit with our personnel. Luckily we have some guys who can do a decent job of both run stopping/pass coverage so even if we have to maintain a certain personnel grouping due to the offense not substituting, we don't have a ton of drop-off transitioning between the two. But in general, our mint defensive structure is designed to concede a bit in the run game to stop the pass and at times we have allowed longer than desired run plays, but you typically see adjustments quickly and force offenses to beat us through the air, which we are well equipped to do.
Now Spencer, why would even say that about DG???? I can’t stand when people just say the most hypothetical things for absolutely no reason 🙄 stick to talking about the game and not injuries.
Wisconsin could be a trap game. They had three games in a row this year where they gave up seven points in three games. Going to the game from Oregon as I was a Badger and have two Duck kids. Watch out Ducks fans. This could be a surprise takedown. Sheila
It could but how do the Badgers score without a QB if Oregon stops the running game where do the Badgers go from there asking as an unbiased Oregon fan
@ Badgers have a good field goal kicker. Their running game will be solid. You are right about the qb .Madison is a tough venue to visit. At 6:30 there will be multitudes of fans who spent all day drinking and they would love to bring down number one. Either way I will be happy and sad. Sheila

I trust Dan to have the guys ready.

A big win would feel nice.
How soon we forget the Georgia game just 2 years ago when we lost by 46! Highly forgettable game for sure but it did happen.

RUN THE BALL, RUN THE TABLE 🦆
I like that
Oregon stays locked in, Go Ducks!
Good show, enjoyed it.
Ryan is a stud
We all know it comes down to 2 teams this year. May the best team win. 🦆
I feel better than i did a few weeks ago about wisconsin. The biggest variable is its on their field and they have a bye week worth of rest.
remember Fickell, laces out, LACES OUT!

Will discuss on Friday
Well, we’ll be coming off a bye against the fuskies. And, so are they.

Today is the day I figured out how old Spencer is, and it’s the same as me 😂 September ‘97!

Go ducks
Ducks by 21.
We better not lose
Don't even entertain that thought.
We actually shouldn’t

And I am flying to Madison from Oregon for the game. It should be electric.
Very few teams have been able to run on Oregon. As long as Oregon stops the run early this game won’t be close
